Very! Especially the clothing style I wore! (Ernie & Bert shirts I call 'em!). I was funky, quirky and "out there." My father was a shop teacher at another school, so I guess I was a little cocky thinking I can take on the world. Education was prized in my fam, so I may have come off like I know everything.

Now that you know the greg character was based on you, is there anything familiar from the storylines themselves? Did Chris use any real life situations that actually occured to you or the both of you back then?

Great question, classicphile! The episode storylines were largely fictional (Are you a lawyer and implying I have a case!!??? Lol!)

I love the episode where Chris comes over the Greg character's house and the couch has protector plastic all over it! So 70s and so Brooklyn! (Btw... My parents had a ratty brown leather couch!). I DO remember when I brought Chris over my 5th floor apt. on 3105 Ave. V (& Knapp St.)...and he remembers it as well!

Thats the thing I like so much about Everybody Hates Chris. I'm not black or lived in Bed Stuy, but it reminds me SO MUCH of my teenaged years in Brooklyn. (I was born in 1969). I can identify with it so much, Chris' dealing and feelings with school, the streets, his family, friends, etc.. :-)
