This happened because of human error. A man was fixing something at a sub-station, and he made a mistake. Hence millions were without power. It really wasn't bad at all, everyone was outside talking to each other. If anything, this brought people closer.

Yes it could be 1 man because of the switching at transfer stations and substations. Very few actions de-energize a line from skilled station workers, which is the probable case here. This is likely an error, it happens sometimes with pwr companies when planned work is being done. If some lines are not map'd as engineering has them laid out, it can cause these issues. It happens. Sometimes its just a matter of things not being where they should. Not sure if that is the case here though.

im from san diego but live in seattle.. my family lives all over there.. and friends.. barely reports here... but i am hearing from fam and friends about things they saw such as tons of military helicopters and my family in mission hills saw what appeared to be lasers shooting up a few different times... not small ones either.. trippin me out!

I'm from a third world country India and power outages are like going on a piss out on a beer crawl...I have experienced it like million times and still i came to know about the control structure and illuminatis of the world..

My humble suggestion to American that i have been watching lately is they are using third world tactics on first world countries to frustate you more..stay stroung guys...its ok..after a while..it gets normall..the first few hours are irritating then its ok

yes, there is i am from carlsbad and we have no power i am using my laptop and they have told us on the radio to stock up on food and water because it could last a while. all gas stations are closed and some of the stores r closed

My best guess is it's being done for emergency exercises. Can't be the solar flare, there would be other signs of that in everyone's electronics. They want us to jump on the flare band wagon, i'm sure.

@mespacetoday No this is not, infact back 1859 there was a massive solar flare that killed all the electrical grids and even caught them on fire, luckily back then there was BARELY ANY electrical grids, if we got hit by the one in 1859 we would be pushed back in the 1700s for maybe 10-30 years. Keep a close eye cause the Sun is blasting out HUGE CMEs lately and the solar max is in 2012-13 so things could get worse.
