Not to be a party pooper or anything but this sport was invented wayyy before this. This is just mediocre baton twirling. If you have ever seen a REAL competitive twirler you will know what I mean.
@twirler15cat it is not about twirling man,i am sorry you did not understand this.rhythmic gymnastic is art and sport together.I prefer this then the spanish male gymnastic.
On November 27-29, 2003, Japan hosted the Men's RG World Championship. This first championship drew five countries from two continents: Japan, Canada, Korea, Malaysia, and the United States. The 2005 World Championship included Australia, Canada, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, Russia, and USA. Men's RG is not recognized by FIG.
@Giulyeah - Nope. RG Baton is a RG form practiced in the Asian Nations and Europe. FIG will eventually pull this discipline and the entire gamut of Men;s RG into their approved cats and then we'll see teams/individuals events for Men alongside what we already have for women.
this is sooooo amazing. I'm seriously having a "wish I was born a guy" moment here. I really want to try rythmics but the guys are so so so much cooler to watch.
There's nothing in his routine that a woman can't do. If I want to see tumbles I'll watch artistic gymnastics. In rhythmic gymnastics it's the flexibility that matters and it's very spectacular to watch. It's amazing especially since there is no other sport where flexibility is taken to such levels. maybe you should appreciate women more.
I'm fooling around with the idea of weightless gymnastics, and have decided to shift from artistic (which I'm more familiar with and have written more about already) to rhythmic (which is too cool to leave out). However, I'm neither a gymnast nor an astronaut, so I could really use some input from a real gymnast. If anybody wants to talk to me about this, let me know. I can credit you in anything I write.

Not to mean insult but there's a big difference between the art of dance and the art of beating someone with a stick.
