    Aurora

  • Has music now run out of talent?

Don't mean to be negative, hearing all these tunes makes my day!

  • Life was sooo good back then !!!

  • Fuck the world, I'm building a time machine and going back to 1960.

  • @the00nightmare00 Give (or sell to me)some tickets, please!

  • The fact that he wrote this at the age of 15 is spectacular!

  • 01:19 Yeaaaaahhh !

  • This is what you fucking call music

  • jo dat...!

  • @cratersbycharlie Guess what language ?

  • sounds like a stax track...with booker t & the MG's in the back....

  • This is the first time that ivè seen the actuall singer of this song i always thought the singer was black... and i think he was in a previous life.

  • Windwood, Alan Price and Garth Hudson the only keyboard players I could ever listen to without falling asleep... A valuable object lesson in the use of stops

  • A classic song.with rhythm and soul.

Steve Winwood sounds like Junior Walker.

  • 44 év után is SUPER! Thanks! ERNI from Hungary

  • Dont you just love an epiphany? I remember when this song came out so I have been listening to steve for "awhile" through many an incarnation....john barleycorn was huge when I was in high school. I enjoyed his work but you know nothing clicked. Then SEA OF JOY came on the car radio the other night and the light bulb finally went off over my head. The guy is astonishing to say the least. better to be late to the winwood party than to never arrive at all.

  • Finnish subtitles? Cool, I guess. :)

  • seems reasonable request - give me some lovin everyday!! What a memory blast

  • darren

  • I <3 Stevie Winwood!

  • שיר מדהים ספנסר דויס

  • Steve Winwood... 17 years old. Simply amazing... and still is, even in 2011!

  • @bmwloco

He actually was 19, not 17 years old. Still great ;)

  • Is there the original version ( the hot single back in the day ) around on the

    net ? Any ideas ...

  • @FatCDTrans Sure is - search for Spencer Davis Group - 'Gimme Some Lovin' Stereo Music Video It's an original video done to the original recording.

  • 37 dislikes are fucking pricks..tit fuck your mum you tit fucking twats.......

  • Quite a mellow version of this fantastic song.

  • @Terrilliser True but awsome, still gives me the 'chills'and makes me dance

  • check Olivia Newton-John's version.....awesome, sexy and musically superb!

  • Steve would have been about 19 in this clip

  • Rakasta minua!!! :D

  • Steve Winwood, Paul Rodgers, Mark Farner, Steve Marriot;.......the best (white) rock(soul)singers of all time.

  • Just have to point out that, during the 60's in the US, most teenage rock/dance TV shows had popular groups lip-synching to their 45 singles. I'm so glad to find performances from Europe and Japan that prove that these bands were working live bands, and not studio fabrications. Side note: In 1972 The Midnight Special show in America would re-establish live performances of pop/rock/soul groups in the US, along with new important comedians.

  • Great groove.

  • Oh NO NO NO! I was wrong, it's a Hammond M-100 of course, because of the smaller manuals (2 x 44 keys).

In some moments, it looks like it had 2 x 69 keys, which made me think it was a H-100, but in another video of the same session I saw I was wrong.

God will send me in hell for telling untruth!

  • I really dig the Bass player's technique with the thumb and finger plectrums. Very interesting. I haven't see that before.

  • the best singer of the world !

  • this is soooo fucking badass

  • 0:22 THERE IS A SPIDER ON MY DRUMS!

  • @HyruleanHero1988 No it was the impression of seeing an gigantic penis

  • @Made4Fan nah his is funnier

  • why the fuck where they called spencer davis group?? IMO winwood was heart and soul of that group...

  • En olis uskonu et olis suomalaiset tekstitykset. mutta kiva juttu :Dd

  • Our band, The Noblemenn always opened with this song after we learned it! So exciting. Hearing it brings back so many memories.

  • is paul mccartney in bass?

  • Well now I know how to ask for some lovin' in Finnish....

  • '35 fucking philistines' I might write a song on a hammond organ under that title!

  • In my top 3 all time favorites.....damn they were good....

  • Woot, I'm learning bass, and this is the first song I was able to play in time

  • i'm from '80 ,until now i though he was a black people. fkin unreal

  • This is what the fuck I'm talking about!

  • What can u say but EXCELLENT

  • Drummer is basically EXACTLY the guy from That Thing You Do! AMIRITE?

  • `give me 7-11

  • the Hammond is a B-3!!!! Nothing beats the sound with the Leslie! Steve knows what is good :)

  • @deblong56

It's definitly not a B-3, because of the white toggle lever switches, which aren't on any B-3. To my knowledge it must be a H-100.

And he does not use a Leslie, it's only the internal vibrato settings of the Hammond.

  • "Blackest" white guy I´ve ever heard!

  • @cocakoehler78 If nothing, he is with out a doubt the blackest 15 year old white kid you've ever heard for sure.

  • @cocakoehler78 I look at it more like someone who has confidence in his abilities.

  • Think that's a Hammond organ running through a couple Leslie speakers.

I once played with a garage style band (Church basement) and a friend had that set-up. Speakers would spin and give a neat effect.

  • @Joeinaloha "Think that's a Hammond organ running through a couple Leslie speakers.

I once played with a garage style band (Church basement) and a friend had that set-up. Speakers would spin and give a neat effect."

No Leslie used in here, only the internal vibrato settings of his Hammond (H-100, I think). Sounds sometimes similar to a Leslie (Rotary) speaker and to my knowledge some or all the vibratos where made to replace the leslie, which didn't work.

  • thumbs up if you came here because your a soulman and on a mission from god XD

  • That blazing organ gives me chills! Very unique sound and vocals...

  • Am I the only one who thinks the tempo is a little slow?

  • i mean there is no other word to describe this than epic... +1 for the finnish subtitles, loving it dac10012

  • Amazing hammond sound :D

  • This is such a great song - way ahead of its time.

  • I love this song!!!:D

  • He wrote this song when he was 17,and sounded like a 40 year old black man.One of the best songs of that decade, and that includes the Beatles, the Stones, the Kinks, and anyone else.

  • stevie WOW and just a boy still fantastic

  • a young, handsome and so talented man.Not spoiled and destroyed from money, fame and status.Definetly not from the lady gaga and justin bieber age.

  • pure genius!

  • Minä rakastan Suomea. :)

  • Great song! Great band!

  • great sounds

  • Sxxx! Didn't realize Steve was in this group. Don't think of him until Blind Faith. He and Clapton are still buddies.

  • what? no moshpit... lol, look at the crowd, awesome!

  • that year left Steve the group , then this was one of the last performing with the group

  • @Chetwynds12 i don't know what a "wanker" is, (stupid English, learn to speak you're own language already!) but Paul McCartney is one of the most talented men ever and don't you dare talk bad about him again, or else, got it?

  • @joro2000 dude don't even talk to me about John Lennon, i am the biggest Beatles fan ever, John died the year i graduated High School, i've been playing guitar for thirty years or more, all i'm trying to say is there are alot of talented people but if you try to dwindle it down to the most talented, look at the facts Paul and Steve are the most copied of all the artists back then

  • userboy6 : are you having a laugh, putting paul McCartney and Steve Winwood in the same sentance, Steve is GOD, the other one is a wanker.

  • wow speakers are going nuts : )

  • Thumbs up if the movie Sleepers brought you here

  • How old was Steve Winwood when he belted out this song? He looks about 16...but sounds like he's 45 and smoked a pack a day! Amazing performance on vocals and the Hammond organ. And he looks like he's having a good ol' time too!

  • How great it is to have this captured on video.

  • Paul McCartney and Steve Winwood, the two most talented men of the nineteen sixties!

  • @userboy6 What about Lennon???

  • I guess 33 people don't want some lovin'

  • FUCKING RIGHT!! I have not heard a real live version of this. Love it..thanks.. the drummer looks so apathetic! hahah

  • The drummer is smoking hot. one fine man. wonder how well he aged. i'd still do him anyway

  • A white guy sings this? Wow, I never would have guessed!

  • @drfenderfunk Blue-eyed soul, baby.

Here he is doing the same tune with Eric Clapton, 43 years later, on stage in Paris:

  • superb

  • ma che voce c'ha !?

  • this music you never get tired of

  • Who would have guessed Steve Winwood would have been responsible for "Call on Me" (2004)

This man has a lot to answer for.

  • Magic song! Has been used in ??? movies, and everytime I hear it I get goosebumps!!

  • for those of you who were born to late. i am proud to say that i attended the winsor jazz festival when music festivals were on the advent. i am reasonbly sure that steve wont be vey offended. he was about 17. i might have been 18. who,s counting. he could hardly stand, or it might have been me. i watched him intently playing his baby grand and guitars. he couldnae put a finger wrong. brittish music is indebted to that man. best thing that ever happened to spencer dav wits his name. thanks steve

  • EPIC LOOK AT 0:03

  • He's a damn good guitarist also, that's him on lead guitar on Dear Mr. Fantasy.

  • Awesome ! Thanks for sharing this =)

  • Stevie was SUCH a musical "prodigy" as a teenager! Blue-eyed soul to the MAX!!

  • He wore that same shirt and sweater on a recent Austin City Limits performance.

  • HANSON performance this song so great in '98s!! awesome..

  • Man that kid could sing

  • im 15 and i love this group. Goes to show we dont all like rap!!!

  • @cllcharger440 God bless you...there's STILL hope for the youth of the world! ;)

  • @cllcharger440 Oh wow! There is someone out there around my age who likes this!!!!

  • @MrWittlez yes there is a person your age who loves this

  • @cllcharger440 I'm so happy now!!!

  • @cllcharger440 ????

  • Real Music from Real people in a Real time.... I can hear the UH1's and small arms fire... (RVN)

  • @grin60 29 it's the key

  • @grin60 Only people with those "likes" can dislike this. They're insane.

  • What a voice!

  • nice song

  • hammond m100 without leslie

  • Steve Winwood is a genius. So talented! ;p

  • The best thing with this vid is the random Finnish subtitles.

  • Why is JB mention. He is irrelevant? Each to there own

  • They are HOT now as then in concert.. and they still have the same organ. If you have a chance you must see them.

  • oh so freakin epic

  • this is so fuckin good

  • this song is dedicated to the "governator" and "DSK" today

  • Totally under-rated genius. STEVE.

  • @234helenrose so so under rated indeed!

  • is that a knock-off hammond? lol. Love his voice, he sounds like Marvin Gaye or something with that high tenor!

  • @willwelsh816 According to WIKI, Winwood was able to purchase a B-3 from the proceeds of Spencer-Davis' first single. Whether he travelled with it, I don't know, but he owned one of the real thing.

  • @willwelsh816

    No, it's a Hammond M-100 (kind of "little B-3")

  • Listen to that voice!

  • Happy 63 birthday to Steve Winwood. Still sounding good.

  • @Kalona03 He's as old as I am/ Lord have mercy!

  • que gran jamonero

  • Rather than to blaspheme let me think ..

Steve Winwood and Spencer Davis wrote with such scenes music history and I am delighted that there are people who perpetuate this in a video ..

Who remembers because after over forty years of beaver or Gaga? Hard to imagine .. I know what I mean I grew up with this kind of music ..:-))

  • @AMA935 I'm willing to bet that in the 1960s and 1970s there were just as many awful, no-talent, money-hungry musicians as there are in 2011. Remember disco?

  • @gdb2007 Yes you are right. For every 100 CRAPPY musicians there are now, there were 100 CRAPPY musicians in the 60s and 70s. But for every ONE GOOD musician there is now, there were 100 AMAZING SUPERSTARS in the 60s and 70s.

  • Sorry but this version is too damn slow.

  • 32 people have never given any love...

  • You say Lady Gaga,? I say? The spitfull.

You say Hannah? Montana,? I say Metallica.

You say Owl City, I say? Motorhead.

You say Jonas Brothers, I say Aerosmith.

You say Justin? Bieber, I say Deep purple.

U?? say Taylor Swift, I say? Guns & Roses.

95% of teens these days listen to? the? same crappy pop over and over again. If you're one of the 5%? who still listens? to real music, thumb this up,then copy and paste it to at least five videos. Don't let ROCK n ROLL die!

  • @kiritsakis1 all those bands are shit and have no reason for being on this youtube video.

  • what a tune - they don't do it like this anymore - you just don't get the instruments these days

  • Raw rock and roll nothing like it. Awesome

  • I'm playing this song in band :D

  • This song is amazing... Nuff said..

  • que fregona era la musica antes

  • mega

  • You would never expect that voice to come out of a scrawny white boy. Gotta love Steve Winwood.

  • awesome.

  • reminds me of the Blues Brothers movie

  • That Is The Music ! :)

    Aaaa - meeen ! Allelluiah !

Тако се то ради, до мојега !!! :)))

  • Notice that they hadn't added that annoying "gimme gimme some loving" chorus at this time.

  • I think Steve Winwood was about 15 y.o. when this song made #1 on the charts.. amazing!

  • I've loved this song since we first played it in band my freshman year in high school (13 years ago). Only recently, however, did I learn that Spencer Davis band was a bunch of WHITE guys. :D Steve Winwood's voice is out of control; it's got so much soul in it. And I'm sure it still does. I'd love to hear him sing live sometime.

  • god this was a good group, this was music! i was 19 then.

  • how does this only have just over a million views??

  • Love the look the drummer gives real quick before the organ kicks the song into outter space lol

  • Good Heavens, He was in the Spencer david Group, Blind Faith, then later had hits in the MTV era... who is he? Lestat??

  • Love it,adore it!!!

  • Stevie was as usual amazing. I saw himwhen he was with ' Traffic with Dave Mason, Jim Capaldi etc. My generation was so lucky

  • Steve Winwood was only 14 when he joined Spencer Davis; he may of been older by the time of this video, but,....what a voice!

  • @frances235 on this clip and at that time Steve was just 18 , born in 49

  • PS....some white boys CAN sing!!! LoL!

  • Stevie is one of the Grand Masters of music. Blue eyed soul like no other.

  • "Right now we would like to do a song for you and this one's called..."

Not very polished stage appearance. The innocence of the sixties, ha?

  • Thunder do it better

  • That crowd is goin' nutz.

  • Yeah Rasta!

  • Live From finnish tv. This is classic performance.
