I have recently started drawing and cutting stencils nothing quite as complicated as this.I have heard of many hobbies where you can loose yourself in but this is the only one that does it for me totally..and as for that moment when you remove the stencil and see your finished work for the first time, well it's better than sex....................well I am 58 lol
Just spray adhesive. I used quite a lot for this piece, and let it dry well before sticking it to the canvas. If you let spray adhesive dry for a couple of minutes it's much better at the whole "repositionable sticking" thing.
As you can see on the video though, I had a helper who was doing lots of holding-down, and there was plenty of (desired) underspray on the piece.
Just normal printer paper taped together and with sticky plastic on the back to make it a little stronger. For a one-off spray this is much easier to cut than card or acetate, and works fine.
Exactly correct. Sliced into A4 chunks and then laser printed, stuck together, and the back covered in clear "contact" (sticky stuff for covering books) so it would hold together a bit better.
pretty damn amazing if you ask me. well done.

Lovely!
One question. How do you cut around the tape? Some sections look so sparse with where the tape is holding the paper together.

if you watched the whole thing and didn't notice the shirts changing every couple minutes, you've got some issues.

RogueFangee 4 years ago
Very impressive!
How do you print your stencils? I'm using Photoshop CS2 for making my stencils, but I don't know how to print them in postersize.
niconiconico 4 years ago
Looks like it is A4 printed and stuk into one giant piece?
I can see the sticky tape- if so-
Enlarge it, and print into A4 pages and stick together :D
RogueFangee 4 years ago
Exactly correct. Sliced into A4 chunks and then laser printed, stuck together, and the back covered in clear "contact" (sticky stuff for covering books) so it would hold together a bit better.
