I was up near Algonquin Park once fishing. I was cleaning a fish on the shore and when I was rinsing my hands one of those came up and nearly took a finger or two. Poor little guy was just hungry though and must have thought I was dinner :)

snapping turtles were everywhere here in montana too, but lately seems they have been dissapearing....humans destroy everything, kinda sad but true...lovely specimine you found! hope she gets a place to survive, maybe you can dig her out a little shelter to survive in!
