@TimelordR I used to watch this movie on "Creature Double Feature" as a kid...not a great movie, but there was one scene where the teenage vampire dragged another girl into a hollowed out tree stump and drank her blood...that scened freaked me out.
This movie was social commentary. The professor's last name was "Branding" and her role was to influence the desires and actions of the women in the movie, to the detriment and destruction of men. The writers created a parody of the new found power of "the brand" and advertising in 1950's America. With the expansion of the interstate highway systems, brands were no longer content to stay regional. This movie parallels the dangers of giving advertisements and branding such power over our action
I wonder if anyone out there sees a lesbian subtext in this movie? After all, the headmistress' name is Mrs. Thorndyke and the chemistry teacher is Miss BRANDon; the evil "spinster-professor"one who "brands" the curse of Dracula into the not-so-innocent Nancy. Hmm. I understand that many of these AIP horror movies were targeted to a new audience-teenagers and their adolescent angst. Very corny and dated but still entertaining with snappy dialog and 50's "jive-talk". And falsies!
I saw this movie on T.V. in the early 70's and never forgot it (I was probably 7 or 8 yrs at the time). I recently found out what the movie was called and would love to see the whole thing on youtube. I am to cheap to buy it on DVD. So to TrashTrailers, if you have this movie I would love it if you posted it here.
@imvicky1999 Also... I had such I hard time finding it because I always thought that she turned into a werewolf, not a vampire. Oh well, like I said, I was 7 or 8yrs at the time.
Almost character for character as well as scene for scene within the storyline- this is an obvious female version of ' I Was A Teenage Werewolf". Although not all that bad - and the vampire make up is classic stuff.
@ziggy72170 4am , ya me I stayed up hours to watch it on TV , was worth the wait , now seen it 3 times , and will continue to stay up for it when ever it comes on AMC , I love Sandra Harrison as Nancy Perkins , my Idol , too bad about Nola , she never should have when down to that store room alone !!!
For the year that this movie was made, it was pretty scary..cause in (1963) in ("Time Square NYC") there were (2) Flicks being shown that weekend (can't remember the theater) & "BLOOD of DRACULA" was one of them, the other was "BEACH PARTY" w/ Frankie Avalon & Annette Funicello. That (Horror) flick scared the "Crappolla" outta me, thats 4 sure! =0O
Hard to find this movie.

Call me crazy, but i think that movie deserves a remake, if not a retooling. And who would play the bi-curious vampire? Megan Fox, perhaps?
