The movie was fantasic, some of it was different from the book, but overall amazing and well done. The paranormal idea behind being youthful forever due to a portrait and deal, and the essence of the Victorian Era gave me chills. Is the download site posted in the video description safe? The person who says the film is gay ass stuff has missed the point of the film.

It's the decadence, the debauchery, the desperation of the people having to make money by any means from their bodies, the nature of the opium dens that give the film its darkness.

I didn't find it easy viewing but I couldn't resist watching it to the end. And it did make my flesh creep, with its insidious nastiness.

Good film though.

@Tianoevanova actually, that isn't true. the original version of the book contained very real reference to homosexuality that was later edited out by Wilde so that he would not be formally arrested upon publication. Wilde was gay, you know.

In all actuality, Dorian probably did more than just make out with a few other guys and then unbutton his pants. Wilde wasn't exactly all that blunt with his references, but high society (some of whom read the book while it was being published in the newspaper) picked up on them in a snap. O. Wilde was lucky not to be thrown in prison...until later.

This movie is awesome! It's so damn fucking more than the older movie off the story from Dorian Gray! The music is so fabulous great and not at least the mindblowing actor art by Colin Firth and Ben Barnes (his mimik is so fascinating!) !!!

By the way: the book is wonderful too! It's different to the movie but not bader. The story of Dorian Gray will catches you in this or that way! It's just a beautiful obra, given us from Wilde!
