I remember before in school i used to draw Umi, Fuu, Hikaru on my notebook... well Umi was always my favorite and Celes the Guardian spirit of water very refreshing
I watch this anime the first time when i was like 20 now i am 26 years old and i still love it the reason i avoid new animes is becouse there are horribles there are new good animes but i found the mayoritiy of the new anime sucks and i beleive that age is not an important factor you grow up but you have to conserve some aspect of a child in a certain poit or you will transform in an old and cold man but this is my personal opinion i accept diferents point of views
i still remembered the episode in this anime when the water element girl hold the sword of wind element girl and eventually the wind element sword gets heavier and fall it to the ground and then the soil got cracked!! :D

Man, too bad America never aired Animes. The only one I remeber them airing like this was Sailor Moon and I totally loved it ans still do. It's a part of my childhood memories. I'm just sad that this nevver got aired because it's such a great Anime. I swear old school anime is the best. It's so meaningful~! The thing I didn't like in this anme was that Hikaru took all the spotlight from the other girls, I thought this was called MAGIC KNIGHTS RAYEARTH not Hikaru and the knights of Rayearth. But I still love this anime ^^
@FallenRaeLi21 lol Hikaru's Rune-God is named Rayearth so it was pretty much expected that she will be the leader like of the group. and as much as i hated it since im a Umi fan there is nothing to be done because its the same in the manga.

@renzanblasurca me too, i remember we always roleplay this anime with my friends. after school we are all excited to watch the anime then after we go play outside and do roleplay. we even destroyed some of the VSH tapes for its black string and tie it on a piece of stick. hahaha

I've loved Magic Knight Rayearth for years... naturally...
... BUT surely I can't be the only one who thinks that the plot for the Sega Saturn game of it is actually BETTER than the anime plot? It seems to have a lot more content and interaction to it than just the comparative blind wanderings of the anime...... not to mention a few dramatic death-scenes that really add to the sense of urgency of the plot (and typically of characters that survive to season 2 in the anime).
@SotiCoto I think I feel this too. I played the Sega Saturn version before watching the anime and I remember the game being really emersive. I liked that the game had a running diary for Hikaru which gave an insight to the character's thoughts about the story.
I also like incidental cometary like if you tried talking to a particular wardrobe the character would make a totally random vidal sassoon reference :)

@FallenRaeLi21 lol Hikaru's Rune-God is named Rayearth so it was pretty much expected that she will be the leader like of the group. and as much as i hated it since im a Umi fan there is nothing to be done because its the same in the manga.

@FallenRaeLi21 same here, i find red haired leads annoying and pink haired leads weird lol. I also don't like scene hogging female leads or characters that are too confident of themselves. that's the reason i was never a fan of Hikaru.

@renzanblasurca me too, i remember we always roleplay this anime with my friends. after school we are all excited to watch the anime then after we go play outside and do roleplay. we even destroyed some of the VSH tapes for its black string and tie it on a piece of stick. hahaha

ooohhh the memories, flooding into my mind, it almost (as usual) makes me cry!.i miss my childhood and the things i abnormally did when i watched this anime..haaah.i wanna go back to that time when i played with a wooden stick and pretended that it was my magical sword..and of course i had my own enemies as well, they were my fellow classmates!! <3 :)

I've loved Magic Knight Rayearth for years... naturally...
... BUT surely I can't be the only one who thinks that the plot for the Sega Saturn game of it is actually BETTER than the anime plot? It seems to have a lot more content and interaction to it than just the comparative blind wanderings of the anime...... not to mention a few dramatic death-scenes that really add to the sense of urgency of the plot (and typically of characters that survive to season 2 in the anime).

@SotiCoto I think I feel this too. I played the Sega Saturn version before watching the anime and I remember the game being really emersive. I liked that the game had a running diary for Hikaru which gave an insight to the character's thoughts about the story.
I also like incidental cometary like if you tried talking to a particular wardrobe the character would make a totally random vidal sassoon reference :)

I used to watch this when I was a kid.. BACK THEN.. whenever I heard this.. i know.. definitely.. that it is Magic Knight Rayearth.. I used to watch this and Fushigi yuugi... they are the first two animes that i've watched.. and Loved.. <3

@sylphgurl143 Ijust turned 18 this May. I am also a fan of the anime's that were aired during the 90's still I'm hooked to the anime's of the present. Maybe because they have plots that, for me, are fascinating like for example, Code Geass and Death Note.

@excloudstrife6 I feel the same way, I'm 19 now and in the military. I was just watching Rurouni Kenshin and one of the DVD extras was a trailer for Magic Knight Rayearth.. I like to reminisce about the happiness of my childhood and wish I could experience those feelings of youthful joy again.
