  • Bart the bear later went on to have several cameo appearances on Saturday Night Live along side such greats a John Belushi and Richard Pryor. It was at this point in Bart the Bear's career that things began to take a sudden downturn. He shacked up with Courtney Love and bought a bungalow out in Orange County. He became a regular at the Viper Room and was often seen snorting coke with strippers and the Tigers from Siegfried and Roy. Only after a Dr. Drew intervention did Bart change his ways.

  • dudes a pussy

  • @thehenchdon He was 9 1/2 feet tall.

  • @hunkatiel thanks

  • And without a single word spoken it tells a spellbinding story. A brilliant piece of film-making. The music is truly eerie in the first half of this video, almost like a howling wind, then it just cranks up the tension in the second half. Brilliant! Favourited!

  • @noulteriormotive There was probably less than 5 minutes of actual dialogue in the entire film. Director Jean Jacques Annaud tells his story through the personalities of the bears. The younger bear, Youk, has such expressive facial features that he could give any Hollywood actor a run for their money in non verbal acting. Unfortunately, I had to cut much of the meeting of Youk and Bart due to time limitations.

  • splendid story..splendid video...

  • Wow, I love this. I've also got "The Legacy of Bart the Bear". Great Video. They loved him like their baby.

  • Bart actually weighed 1800 lbs.. He was a very large bear..

  • @pussylicker24 Yup, he was a keeper. He looks big in these clips but if you watch the videos of Doug wrestling with him that's where you can see how huge he was. Barts head is the size of Dougs' entire upper body.

  • Thanks, hunkatiel, for posting those crucial scenes from "The Bear"!

Thanks, too for the filmography of Bart's other movies. I did not know. What a great actor!

Seeing the movie is probably the best way to show the wild from the bears' points of view.

Why did the scared hunter not shoot the bear after the warning, and make his co-hunter refrain too?

  • @Rapappport - Bart was quite the accomplished animal actor and according to his human family, Doug and Lynne Seus, knew when the camera was on and loved performing. Although the film is not that well known it is one of the best nature films ever made told mostly from the viewpoint of the bears, Bart and Youk. In the film the younger hunter returned the mercy shown by the bear which could have easily killed him. Thanks for watching.
