oh thankkkk youuu this took me so long to find..the beat was playing in my head for a whole day and i thought it was from an nba live game and i KNEW xzibit was on it but searching thru the nba live soundtracks had me so frustrated..then finally i thought of madden 2002 somehow
@STEELERSxl36 in my opinion TRUE hip hop is stuff like Mobb Deep's The Infamous and ALL of Tribe called Quest. This sort of ushered in the new age hip hop (I like to call it noise), so its a little lame.
@sk8poompers true hip hop still being made, PR still making some gems in the era of noise, 9th is doing good, Dilla is a producer who became big in later years, The Roots is still doin it big, Nas has released some deep albums and the last was IMO the deepest hip hop album ever.
@Musik4soul777 ok pete rock kind of fell off, he's still one of the best but he's got some joints out there that make you go "what the fuck happened?" and Nas?! he's an ill MC but his production is never that good since illmatic, and are you serious, 9th?! he's ok for this era, but he doesnt compare to classics. oh and Dilla?! please dude, most of his beats are from before the 2000's so it doesnt really count
note that when xzibit said that line, he had two great underground albums behind him instead of two great underground albums and eight years worth of garbage. he looks stupid now, he sounded cool then
@khalithistle he0 'sounded cool' then? r u serious, he is a fucking legend u asshole. He, tha liks and King Tee were the underground k LA ings in those days. At the speed of life is more classic than all tracks made these days combined.
one of the best beats ever

REFLECTION ETERNAL, TIPPING POINT are the only albums i hold next to ILLMATIC. All 3 are PERFECT.
OB4CL2 = Album of the Year easily
Hip Hop needs to remove its dark cloud over BOSTON, and recognize an untapped gem, and a savior
Heres a few small examples why:
Reks: "How Can it Be"
Termanology- "Watch How it Go Down"
"Mass-as-a-Nation" - for a 15 minute crash course of 30 (yes 30) Boston MCs youve never heard and will thank me for.
Termanology feat. Reks- "Hardcore"
I wouldn't lie to ya.

Everyone who likes beats like these should check out Jimi productionz and his song called Make em lean. It would be perfect for Talib Kweli.
