We never should have entered Euro in the first place . Our Drachma was FINE and it sufficed . Our Prime Minister at the time Simitis failed to place a "cap on prices" and what used to cost 100 drachmas immediately became 1 Euro (1 Euro=341.75 drachmas back in 2001).We can we leave Euro and go back to the Drachma .As long as we get our drachma back at the same exchange rate as 2001 and as long as there is a SEVER CAP ON PRICES , we will live through it .

I lived in Greece for years in late 80s/early 90s as they were tricked into the EU, and eveerybody knew it would be disaster. German exports flooding in, lots of easy credit and promises of jobs to pay for it---which never arrived "somehow." Big banks/corporations buying up Greek assets and using them for anybody BUT the Greeks---I truly hope Greece goes back to the drachma, for with agriculture and tourism, they CAN ride this out and win their country back. I lived in Greece for years in late 80s/early 90s as they were tricked into the EU, and eveerybody knew it would be disaster. German exports flooding in, lots of easy credit and promises of jobs to pay for it---which never arrived "somehow." Big banks/corporations buying up Greek assets and using them for anybody BUT the Greeks---I truly hope Greece goes back to the drachma, for with agriculture and tourism, they CAN ride this out and win their country back. Screw the criminal banksters!
