  • It's had a very intersting life L394AGA. It started out in 1994 as a 160hp nissan 200 which was the runabout of the wife of the owner of a large housing company in Glasgow. Then in 1997 it was bought by my dad. He fitted a chip which gave it 225hp and 240lbft of torque. In 2001 he traded it in. Now another decade down the line, it has a 712hp 5.7 litre carburetted and supercharged V8. When we saw what had been done to it, we couldn't stop laughing. I'm amazed at what my dad's old car has become.

  • believe it or not, some wings are actually functional, especially on a car with some power. Judging by the noise; I'm guessing it's supercharged and a 200sx is a very light car so all that power with little weight in the back means the back end will tend to lift and lose traction as you go faster.. if you go faster

    200sx never came with a ca18det stock. It came with black top sr20det and only black top... 180sx started off with the ca18det + de and moved up to sr20det in 1994.

  • Nice car can appreciate the effort, as a current owner of a 180SX (Factory Standard 2lt Turbo) imported from Japan to OZ my car is heavily modified and I'd love to race this to show 2lt turbo can take down V8 muscle!!

    THIS IS HOW THE BADGING GOES..

    180SX Japanese made car had a 1.8lt CA18 from 1989 till 1994 then it came out with the SR20 2.0lt from 1994 till 1998 STILL CALLED 180SX!!

    200SX European version with 2.0lt

    240SX North American version with 2.4lt truck engine (crap)

  • its like here in New Zealand The 180sx is Jap Import model and the 200sx is a NZ new model, both have the same body as in the above video and both come with the CA18DET in the earlier years but late model 180sx and 200sx are equiped with SR20DET engines. The 180sx being Jap Import, the speedo only goes to 180kms but NZ new models are abel to go to 240 kms on the speedo.

  • 180sx has a 2.0 liter engine and is the s13 fastback in Japan. All other s13's, s14's and s15's are called Silvia's in Japan. 200sx has a 1.8 liter engine in the s13 version, and a 2.0 liter engine in the s14 version and are European. All 240sx's have 2.4 liter naturally aspirated engines and they are available as the s13 and s14. 240sx's are American. s13, s14 and s15 are the different generations of body styles. pz.

  • Well I'm not 100% sure but i think the reason why there label different is because of the engine that they use.

    180sx-CA18DET (later used SR)

    200sx-SR20DET

    240sx-KA24DE

  • your wrong im afraid, the 180sx is a 1.8l car (Japan, Europe etc), the 240sx is a 2.4l car (Japan, America, etc) the 200sx is a 2.0l car (Japan, Australia, etc)

    the 180sx is commonly called the 200sx but its actually not, eg, in britain the 180sx (the car most common here) is commonly known as the 200sx

    the cars above are the S13, the S14 is only really known as a Silvia but is also refered to as a 200sx

  • @xLatinoxGymnastx They say the KA can handle boost, but in the long run, the SR is better because it has beefier internals. I'm not an expert but I have looked it up and I believe the KA to be just as good as the SR (minus turbo) and there's no replacement for displacement :D

  • @120rjohnson In Europe (at least Spain) the Rs13 (180sx, 240sx) is called 200SX, just like the S14/S14a. Ant it comes with the CA18DET engine with 170hp.

  • Even though I think that CA18DET is a very modern and (not fuel) efficient engine, it really lacks low end torque. It begins to accelerate quite nicely only after 3000 rpm. It's frustrating to "drift" on a rainy day because you must drive very quickly to a corner if you want to have some power during cornering (2nd gear). And because stock s13 doesn't have LSD, it's almost impossible to do anything nice with 1st gear. But i can see that you don't have that problem. =D

  • you should look into buying one, they're pretty cheap and it helps a LOT with even normal driving.
