  • finally found something unique to do with a new house!!! thanks so much!

  • would it really be so hard for ea to just create some damn split level stair cases? Over 10 years of cheating this game is just ridiculous.

  • i miss that sound/s!!

  • Thanks zoo much you do not know how helpful this is lol

  • * cough*

  • 1:12 lol it has its own little roof! :D

  • hey. :)

    love your vids :D

but can you tell me what code did you tipe in? :O

    i can't get it right :)

    thanks :DD

  • this looks cool but too complicated o.O

  • how to delete a wall?

  • Re-leveling issue still! this doesn't WORK!

  • Thank you for giving me the cheat to level the walls!!

  • lol i barely noticed those down there but thanks ill add this to my favorites for a while cause i cant play right now.....its midnight so i gtg 2 sleep and live my life and THEN make my 2 floor house THANKS

  • I dont know, why EA just cant create predefinied L shaped stairs....

  • @takacska6969 yeah, or spiral one like in sims 2 appartment life

  • @SeRgA123456789

Dont worry, they are coming with Generations! I mean the spiral ones :P

  • @takacska6969 well.... that's gonna be awesome..... :D

  • @takacska6969 I know right? >.>

  • Sucks that i have the console version

  • I have yet to get this to work right. I really dont know what I am doing wrong. :(

  • thank you very much ! \o/

  • thank you! :D

  • i havent watched the whole video yet, but unless what I have not seen yet u are showing us it underground and not in the house, I kinda dislikes this =l

  • when I turn off constrainfloorelevation I have some green and more red squares and nothing looks different when I do it. and when I am on the main floor you cant see the landing or the railing. does it do the same thing to you?

  • I am also haveing the re-leveling issues. when I re-level it raises my main floor stairs and the landing floor it is connected to its orginal height on second floor. my stairs are surrounded by walls on 3 sides (the top half is surrounded by 2 walls and the bottom is against one wall. and I would really like the walls and floor to level out but keep my Lshaped stairs. is this possible? Another thing, when I go to the main floor it does not show the midlevel tiles(I have 2) and the railing

  • @Yrrats how did you make this work? I have the same problem. I made three floors and only levels the second 2 not the floor where the steps connect. also does anyone know how to get the railings out of the outside wall? I notice when I put stairs on an outer wall or any wall attached to stairs the railing shows. one more thing does anyone know how to make half walls I like them in sims stories and want to make them on sims 3 SJA

  • @SJA21 When you make the stairs, you make one without railings. When you're done, you only add a railing at the 'outside' of the stairs, not one at the wallside.

  • Is it possible to do a L-shaped staircase in a walk-out basement? It's proving to be quite a pain.

  • There should be an L-shaped stairs tool.. just saying

  • This is still for free on:

    downloadblinks . C _ O _ M

  • I have been trying to to do this for months all the videos/tutorials i found before were to hard to follow, your video excellent. Finally l-shaped stairs! Yay!

  • Thanks for this tutorial! I just made my first L-shaped stairs, my Sim is going to be so proud of me;-) I had the same problem as check86 by the way. The solution was that you don't level the first floor, but the top one (so you need three floors I guess?). That way you pull up the walls below. That stays visible by the way. You can't use every walldecoration you want, only very plain ones.

  • Oh my god it's amazing!! Without I couldn't make a L-shaped stairs think you so much !! I'm french, sorry for the bad english

  • cool video i just got the sims 3 and its taking me a while to learn everything but i am getting it :D

  • there is the new update now u can make a basement without making any holes its cool and yes i no this video was done a while ago

  • Love those stairs but yeah.. big pain in the butt..

  • argh, this looks so easy, but it's a pain in the ass !

  • i wish you could just choose *L shaped, swirl, straight* stairs lmao none of this stressful extra work

  • i wish sims 3 would just include more advanced stair controles, so this wouldnt be such a pain in the ass

  • Thanks for help! This is one of the most easiest ways to make L-shaped stairs!

  • How can you make L shaped strais if you want to have sidings??

  • @MacsMedia do it on the inside

  • Thanks! =)

  • ; )

  • Can you make L-shaped stairs on a house that DOES NOT have a foundation under it? I tried this on my sims house but it didn't work. And I was wondering if it was because my house didn't have any foundations.

  • @ShyBlue27 my house doesn't have foundation and it worked well. All you have to do is when placing the squared wall do not build it on a foundation.

  • very easy, altered a few ways, but all in all pretty good ;)

  • Thats cool, so you can make a classic "cartoon style" basement.

  • do any of you know how to go off of land in sims3

  • you cant

  • What do you mean?

  • It was helpful thanks :-D

  • o thats pretty easy and helpful thanks

  • i just need to now how to put stairs on a foundation because every time i try i get lawn staris the small ones but i want the big ones tht go up to the next lvl

    someone help me plz

  • For some reason, I can't place the first set of stairs that you placed (the one leading from the landing to the 2nd floor). Any clue as to why?

  • For some reason when I try to re-level everything after I've places my stairs, the landing floor tile (where the stair bends) gets raised as well to the full height. :s

  • @check86 you got to turn the cheat off before you do that =D

  • @check86 make your constrainfloorelevation true before you re level things

  • thank u so much iv tried so long but i didnt know u were supposed to cheat :D

  • good but it is too troublesome

  • You have to make a little foundation in the corner to put the little steps there but if that does not work then sorry ;D

  • thanks for video

  • I thought foundation was so that the house wasn't on the same level as the garage because carbon monoxide can kill people and also so that the house has more support underneath... you can't just build a house on top of the ground, you first have to dig under, which is why it's called foundation

  • hmm im trying to do a victorian house from 19th century, and i followed this step by step on how to do the L shape stairs which was beautiful i been looking everywhere on how to do it but errm.. i come across a part which was most annoying. the floor in the middle of each stairs when i look at it from head on rather than eagle view the floor tile dissappears... do you think im doing something wrong? ~X~

  • why don't you try making your l-shaped stairs in the middle of the room or somewhere not near the wall so the wall will not be broken.

  • Thank you so much for this! I've been trying to figure out how to do this in the sims 3.

  • in tha sims 2 i wuld do dat all da time!

    ???

  • where did you download the sims 3 from ?

  • usenet

  • why does everyone build their houses with a foundation? (It sounds like a stupid question, i know)

  • it gives a house a little more status.

and it makes for some more editing posibilities

  • foundation makes the floor level i think that would be the reason...cant think of anything else

  • for me, small houses with a foundation look beautyful, but big houses with foundation are ugly...

  • You think that but I said before, Houses with a foundation make the house more realistic and professional, If you are good at designing big houses then it wld be good, but big large square houses I would not reccomend a foundation, Same with Small houses.

    Get my point?

  • Agree.

  • i agree, plus when you make a house with a foundation you have trouble making an indoor pool, and connecting the garage with the house

  • I think Qbuilderz has a great solution for the indoor pool and connecting the garage with the house in his tutorial "Split Leveling in The Sims 3. What I did was after I did the split leveling i made the lower level into the garage and the level with the foundation in the main living area

  • Houses with a foundation makes it more realistic and professional

Our Real houses are built on foundation.

  • can u do a gameplay of creating a family?

  • only does tuts

  • Thanks! That really helps.

  • Good idea of making the stairs

  • thanks ..i was wondering

  • that is awesome as. :) i am so doing that .

  • i have my sims 3 on my laptop.

but when i type 'control, shift, c',...

    it doesnt work :[..

can you help me find out why?

  • you have to type control shift windows logo and c

  • joriah1001 this is probably because your laptops keyboard does not accept 3 key strokes at the same time. The only way to get it working would be to buy a USB keyboard that can accept 3 keystrokes at the same time and plug it into your laptop. [ And this goes for anyone else with the problem too, it doesn't matter if its a laptop or desktop, cheap keyboards = problems. ]
