man i hate this song since the day it came out..put me in jail if i fail. in other words they gonna put the dude in jail just cause he fail to give her all the love he could . this song is for clowns lol
this song came out in 1969, not the early sixties.. It was written by our guitar player, Rudy Palacios.. Rudy and Vicent Montez are singing back gound vocals... We loved playing in El Paso, it was one of our favorite places... Jay Johnson, Sunliner !964 til 1970...trumpet, and trombone player
I grew up listening to all these songs everytime our family would get together for holidays & parties. Lots of dancing & wonderful memories. I will never stop listening to Oldies.!
I remember my tio playing these and drinking back in the late '70's. Loved it back then just as much as today. thanks for showing me some great music Tio. RIP Tio Boy
I wasn't even old enough to attend the dances where these groups played! But I remember my older sister Angie & older brother Ruben and their friends playing this on the "suitcase" record player we had! Now this was GOOD music!!
I really didnt know this song until my boyfriend texted me one day when we were mad and texed "Put me in jail if I fail" and I got mad at him and said why do you have a "jailbird" mentallity and he said that is a song and the laugh was on me, great song, I love it :)
I love to listen to Sunny. I think of my Dad he went to school with him in San Antonio, TX , Go Burbank Bull Dogs! Dad you're always with me even though your in Heaven.

As far as I know this song cameout in the early 60s. For some reason, many people did not know of it. I am in the my late 40s. i did grow up in el paso texas.
excuse ma'am for asking this question, it is not my intention to offend: just to find out why I have never heard this song: I was born in late sixties: how old are you? what year was this song released or popular? where? I assume somewhere in Texas. Thanks
As far as I know this song cameout in the early 60s. For some reason, many people did not know of it. I am in the my late 40s. i did grow up in el paso texas.
This song cracks me up when Sunny sings the part: "The judge put me down real bad" Screw that damn judge ha ha ha ha. I guess the judge is perfect to (JUDGE). Ha ha ha
First time I heard this was at la Villita in early 60's. We took all Sunny's and the Sunliners wi9th us to the Marine Corps in 66 also the way to the I Corp home to the Marines and back. Today it's still in our heart.
I fondly remember these guys. They used to play at the Laredo,TX Sands motel every other weekend. When the new Laredo Civic Center was built, '66-'67 Sunny and the Sunliners were the 1st group to break it in. My friend,Pete Gonzales & I, helped the band unload. We got to get in free. I was so facinated by Vince's bass playing. I'm 55 now, but every time someone hears me play bass, I get complimented. I copied Vince's style. Thank you Vince, where ever you are.
Vince is still in San Antonio, plays with a religious group. was saved by evangelist Rudy Guerra, Sunliner sax player, as was I recently. Jay Johnson Sunliner trumpet trobone 1965.. 1969... I was there when we opened the civic center.
Man the memories, crusing down military in my brother-in -laws Camaro(Candy apple red,50 in the back), man, to be back in those times. To all my family, i'll be home soon, much love from Japan!

player if you didn't know this one and House of Risen Sun. Our Ozuley later played guitar for Sunny.
