In this version of Henry Purcell's song, the deep melancholy is being transmuted into an ethereal, Buddhistic neutrality. I hope that you will also prepare such versions of other songs of Purcell, most notably: "Fatal Hour", "O let me weep", "Sweeter than roses", "See, even night herself is here", "Bid the virtues", "No Stars again shall hurt you from above"...
Too fast. Also, When you hit a note, hit that note and stay there. You slur up to notes and that makes it sound sloppy, and like a child. Just a little tip. Other than that, sounds good.
Rather etheral and approaching the macabre..... On the other hand, quite appealing to the morose and dark stirings of the heart ; rather indicative of the fear in all men of death. Thanks! :)
I would like so much to hear even more intensity in this music. It is like the last words, the indomitable and endless regret. But thank you so much for the realization.
Interesting. Dido is suppose to be a mature woman with a great grief in her heart. You renditions almost sound "childish" (not in a bad way), just like death was some sort of return to innocence. Great work!
Biiiitch, this is if off the hook. I am an avid Janet Baker fam of this aria. But you put a spin on it that I will never forget!! Excellent. However, I didn't care much for the beginning; it almost sounded like a small child singing a lullaby. Unless, ofcourse, that's what you were going for.
I only knew the Jeff Buckley version of this aria (and I really recommend everybody to listen to it! Awesome version, very intense and passionate... I always get goosebumbs when I listen to it, especially when thinking of his life and its sad ending). From there, I startet clicking through the related videos and finally found another version that I like and that gave me goosebumps - yours! Thank you for that. Beautiful voice, a very beautiful & modern approach.
Wow, I have listened to most of the recordings of this Purcell masterpiece on Youtube, 99% of which sound like fat ladies who have been eating steroid pills - with bloated over done vibrato -
Your sweet and natural voice comes across beautifully - and we get to hear the lyrics too - lovely, please do some more - Bravo!
I'm also a classical singer, but I love this! When I first looked at this, I honestly didn't expect it to be very good, but I was proven wrong! Good job. :)
I am a classical singer and thought I would despise this, but this was really interesting to me! I think you should add some kind of extra percussion of texture to the second time "when I am laid in earth" is sung in the aria to better build to the "remember me" parts a little more, and do something more climactic with the "remember me" parts. :) really cool though!
@kescott105 thanks so much for your comment :) You don't know how much it means to me because u're a classical musician! Many classical musician can't accept what I do here, so thanks so much again for your comment! I agree with all that you've said. I was really just starting to use the program I used to make this, so I didn't really know how to make it sound better, but if I have to remake this, I definitely would remember your comments!
@kescott105 I would just like to echo this comment. I too am a classical singer (mostly) but I'm very impressed by this, especially if you really did it between 1am and 5am one morning! As kescott105 says, a bit more intensity as it builds up would be good, but it sounds great.
@Max3851 wow.. thanks for commenting anyways. My first hate comment here, hahahahaha. I'll make sure this version would be published for your local Walmart, and for your purchase so you can happily throw it to your waste basket for your amusement. I'm so sorry that instead of play pranks to your own friends, you got no one to send nasty comments to but me, a stranger far far away in Hong Kong. Happy April Fool's Day!
Pleasant tune... but... for some reason I keep getting flashbacks of "the Grudge". I think it has something to do with that echoing instrument... kinda creepy.
Oh really that ur pic in the video, hmm iam impressed, so yeh u know how i told u that i saw ur eyes moving cuz i kept staring at the pic that make me leave a comment on ur video, but hey maybe cuz of that i got a present 4u, i made a house, trance music vid,ur pic n lil of ur singing in it check it out (watch?v=Cz-s0FVT338 ) or search Best of House Music 2010/Trance/Techno Part 01. if u dont like it 4 personal reason pls let me know,Happy new years gift for u Haza

not bad, but you should give more sadness to your voice.......didone is desperate 'cause she's abandoned by enea dear...............

This was quite nice, very accessible for a younger audience. Wish you had finished it a little more at the end, but lovely all the same.

¡Horrible!, un aria de opera es un aria lírica. Si desea cantar música popular está mal enfocada.
