  • i walked in the room when my brother was at this part when i was like 11, i cried so loudly.

  • This scene alone scared the fuck out of me as a kid. I was literally awake for 2 weeks horrified.

  • I personally don't care which version is scarier. I like them both because they have their own ways of being scary. For instance, in the original version, you see the half eaten severed head. And just like Pogiforce said, leaving it to your imagination makes it equally scary. There, I said it.

  • i like the old one because it has the eyes

  • The old version was scarier it looked right at you

  • for some reason to me this zombie looks like it'll chase after you quiker or has a long tounge lol

  • @hell666maggot hey i dont it would've still been funny to me lolz

  • One thing I always thought about, Why is the zombie's chin so long and pointy one minute but when it turns around it has a very rounded chin?

  • The first zombie in the original seemed to look more like the archetypal gray man outer space alien compared to the zombie right here.

  • Imagine how smelly the zombie would be...

I smelt a rotten dead body when I was a child and I puked.

  • i remember this, first zombie i ever saw in a video game.

i had trouble sleeping for 3 years straight becease of that face.

and now look at me, eagerly awaiting new zombie games ready to bash some skulls =/

    something somewhere went very wrong.

  • I remember seeing this on PS1 and was like wtf my.. BED COME HERE.

Then I saw this in the Remake and I hid the game away for awhile.

Now I see this and im like "FUCK YES I LOVE THIS SERIES"

  • @hell666maggot Thats because when white people use to make something pertaining to being black it always had a touch of bias. lol....like black barbie.

  • Most realistic zombie ever, I like how back in 2002 zombies looked better than L4D zombies.

  • @moolate127 totally fucking agree with you on that one! at least the old ones were actually scary! resident evil 2 still scares me!

  • @ghilburt Exactly! Resident Evil 2 was a fucking masterpiece dude!

  • dramatic zombie?

  • Does no one notice that the zombie has a pupil? If you look closely you can see it.

  • first rule of horror: Black dude always dies first :(

  • I saw this when i was 6 my uncle was playin it and i was lke OMG. Haha i love RE it was my first video game :)

  • what freaks me out is i actually like this... it makes me very.....hungry

  • this nigga is so fucking scary

  • @hell666maggot And white people like to think racism is ok.

  • @Mugen123456789 racism IS ok :) black ppl make such a big deal out of EVERYTHING so why shouldnt it be? black ppl are racist so its ok!

  • i liked the old version because the zombie bites kenneths head off....in these better graphics it would be the scarriest shit of all time.....but to see him eaten alive ...shivering of the pain and twisting his eyes nearly 180° around is a very good alternative^^^...and if you look closely you can see the zombies blended-out pupil turning on to you...like in the old version...just without these weird strong-blue shining eyes which made him look like a normal person who hates black people O_o""

  • the reason the original zombie is scarier is because you see the pupil of it, it is staring right into your soul, while this one has no pupil. Eye contact, with zombies and shit, makes a big difference when it comes to being scary. if you can see it, it can see you. YOU dont know what its thinking, and so on.

  • People who keep saying the original is scarier cuz you could see more, A lot of people in the horror business say the less you see, the scarier, because your imagination fills in the void, and your imagination can do a lot more to scare you than anything they can show you.

  • @Pogiforce I think the original is scarier only because of the zombie's eye actually being blue and focused on you, instead of this one just blindly looking over his shoulder.

  • @Mugen123456789 It's not an aimless glance. You can't really see it here because of the size and quality but if you play the game on the console and pay careful attention you can see that there is still a pupil there, even if it's cloudy, and it does look in your direction. It's just not blue and 'normal' looking now.

  • @Pogiforce Right I don't like where the new companies like to make BAD replicas of things.

New Gen purposely want to make you see shitty visuals.

Older Gen Games place key details and let your mind fill in the rest.

  • @Pogiforce looks like you dont know bout this:

    comic.naver.com/webtoon/detail.nhn?titleId=350217&no=31&weekday=tue

    scares the shit outta you

  • @Pogiforce Interesting.

  • I remember when I was like 8 and I watched this...I didn't sleep for a month. And im not just saying this for thumbs up or anything...I could not sleep because I was scared to fucking death

  • this is WAYYYYYYY scarier than the older one

    ScArY.... *shivers*

  • the old one was more scary

  • I said this before in another video, but i just hate that everytime this particular scene is remade it always get watered down. This one isn't too bad, even though it lacks the decapitation and half-eaten face. But REUC, i dont even know what to say about that one... You don't even see the zombie chewing on him.

  • hola tontos

  • que zumbir orroroso

  • i remember playing this in the old version.. all i remember was me wanting to run... it didn't occur to me i had to press x to run.. so i ended up "walking and screaming" away from the zombie

  • @shishy12 Oh yeah, well, i have the remake, and as i was watching the cutsence, i was telling myself i had to run... To bad i ran right into the zombie and he killed me in two shots...

  • Since when was he black? He was nearly albino in the original...

  • Aids... (Y)

  • The old one was kinda funny. But the remake Mr Zombie was scary as f*&k.

  • Imagine seeing this when you are 8...Feels bad man

  • @brenchtoast44 it sure does...

  • I heard the Dramatic Hedgehog music when he turned around

    DA DAA DAAAAAAHHHNNNN

  • @hell666maggot Not really. I wouldn't say they like it, i'd say there's so much of it that they have to complain. Then you have people that complain about them complaining about racism cause they think it's stupid to be offended by racism.

  • Uh, sir, what what are you HOLY FUCKING SHIT *starts slapping controller* KILL IT OH MY FUCKING GOD ITS EATING ME

  • the playstation 1 cutscene was scarier and no im not saying that cause im one of those assholes who thinks the original is always better no matter what. In playstation one not only was Kenneth decapitated but the zombie had pupils and was actually staring at you. Also you could see the room they were in. In this one it's black background and the zombie just aimlessly glares over his shoulder at you instead of focusing.

  • @Mugen123456789 the one in the original looks like a clown*shivers*

  • Zombies used to scare me when I was a kid because of Ocarina of Time. Now Resident Evil doesn't seem scary to me anymore.

  • @PsychoKrazyTime Ironically, I was more scared of the ReDead than I was of any of the Resident Evil monsters. At least the Tyrant couldn't stun you by screaming at you. O_O

  • @Sanguiluna I think with Resident Evil, you are expecting a fearful, creepy environment, so it seems less scary because you are on guard. With Zelda, it's more of an adventure game where you aren't expecting to be scared, so naturally, anything scary can catch you off guard.

  • @PsychoKrazyTime it would be soooooo fukn funny, if they named a video game something like zelda rated E and some kid played it and it turned out to be something like resident evil or deadspace, or if someone swapped the disk and replaced the pic on the disc to something cheerful:P

  • It's not the same... the "old school" version's zombie have PUPILS!! And that pupils break your fucking soul!! White eyes doesnt scare too much

  • @2092044 Yeah, when he gives you that "YOU'RE NEXT!!" look, it just sends a load of chills down the spine!

  • @2092044 Funny, cuz a lot of interviews with these people say that they usually white out the eyes, or some other malformation of the eyes in order to further dehumanize the zombie. They aren't normal, they aren't human, they don't even have souls anymore, are they are are instinct driven killing machines. And they're coming for you.

The original scene with the pupils, he just looks like a guy with a REALLY bad skin condition.

  • this is pretty good but it's nowhere near as scary as the cut scene in the 1st one. the 1st one had graphics people consider shitty by today's standards so they had to use filters and that's what made everyone shit bricks. also, in the 1st one the zombie just had a blank childish expression (kind of like how a toddler would stare at you). this one just looks like he's retarded or something.

  • This one is cool... but nothing better that the old school.

  • I really do love how the REmake used the original soundtrack in this scene. Gives you a feeling of nostalgia and sudden terror at the same time.

  • @hell666maggot Yeah, I'm black and I agree. We like the attention, and we crave for people to be racist. Most of the time we set up racist jokes. We act like we were the worst treated race out there. Were not. Jewish people had it the worst..

  • None of them are scary. Infact, they're epic!

The only thing I actually thought was SINISTER was the song that played when the zombie looks back...

  • Comment removed

  • @hell666maggot even white people complain about racism. i think though that only the English (not british as the welsh and scottish to complain a lot about it too) are the only country that don't really give a shit if you're racist about them.

  • This first zombie always used to scare the piss out of me..>_>

  • OOOOOHHH GOD the victims legs twitching.

Hm, imagine this version to scare the shit out of you when you were 6.

  • 0:12

"Can't you see I'm eating, ya sumbitch!?"

  • When he looks toward the camera witth thopse white eyes still scares the shit out of me! Because your like holy shit a zombie, and does any one else notice it takes more shots to bring him down here then any other zombie in the game

  • This is just as scary as the original, which one being specifically scary depends on which one you saw first. You can't recreate the experience of being scared by watching it again, the first time you see it regardless if it was the remake will always be the scariest moment.

  • i remember that me and my friend was making fun of him cuz he looked like he was chewing gum

  • lol who was the zombie biting? whoever he was, HE WAS STILL ALIVE! my god, i feel sorry for him, must be painful

  • @prinny081 His name was Kenneth. He was on Bravo Team. He even had a camera on him, and you can retrieve the footage so later in the game, you can actually see the zombie attack from his point of view.

He died like a pansy. Screamed like a little girl, missed EVERY shot he fired, and got eaten by the first zombie in the game.

  • @Pogiforce Not to mention he was a black guy, and everyone knows that in horror movies, the blonde dies, then the black guy, then the retarded whiite people, and it's always down to the last two people.. sometimes a guy and a girl, and they get killed in the sequel... Unless their names are Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine.

  • first time u played this game when i walked there i saw the zombie like biting the hell out of him and my eyes got bigger and my jaw dropped i was HOLY CRAP!

  • Not scary AT ALL.

The original beats the crap out of this zombie!

  • @DrumGuitarDude

Not at all. the original is not as scary as this one. The original one looked retarded. You can't base it off of nostalgia because I played the PS1 version before the remake but I can still see this one is scarier.

  • @elZiltcho

No, because the bad grafic in the first one makes it more scary to watch.

  • @elZiltcho

How is it scarier? In the original, you see the zombie drop the guy's half-eaten head on the friggin ground! In this, you don't see crap

  • @elZiltcho It didn't look retarded in 98 when it first came out. Back then you thought it was the most realistic thing you'd ever seen lol

  • I concur. In the original you walked up on the zombie. It wasn't just sitting there in the dark ethereal void of playstation world.

Plus there was shock value with the head that he drops, all mangled up and shit. This poor bastard barely has any visible injuries cept for the blood that seems to be pouring from somewhere. But to this day I still don't even know what the zombie was eating here...The original was obvious. He was eating his god damn face.

  • he looks scarier in this one

  • original is more scary lol it looks right at you and ur like OH SHIT!

  • not as scary as the original :D

  • I remember the first time I saw that. I was so young and scared that I couldn't sleep for a week.

  • even scarier than the original

  • The original one is better.

  • eww

  • Um... in the original, wasn't Kenneth black?

  • yeah he was, poor guy half his head munched off

  • And he still is.

  • Bah! The Japanese can't get anything right. The zombie doesn't look right without some kind of eyes. And this stupid censorship thing is ridiculous.

  • Um he does have eyes...they're very faint cuz it's a...you know...DEAD BODY?

  • @Asphyxium001 It's not censorship. It's horror theory.

  • The orginial was creepy but the monement you see he's face i just laughed.

This one's face is alot scarier

  • omg he killed kenneth YOU BASTARD lololololol

  • Not bad at all. Still, I believe that the original scene is the best... What the hey, they're both as scary as hell. Hope they won't let me have nightmares. I mean, I already dreamt of zombies for a total of 7 TIMES IN FOUR BLOODY YEARS, IF YOU ASK ME!

  • i played are game first when i was like... 12... im 21 now.. and zombies keep coming back to my nightmaress! =P

  • on the original though,he did directly look at you which made it a bit scarier. and he dropped a half eaten head, instead of just chomping on his neck.

  • creepy...you can even see its puples turning to look right at you..just imagin seeing shit like this , that close to you, eating your best friend lets say, in real life ..

  • when I was a Chiled ... about 6 year old

My big Brother was playing RE1 ...and after what I see this ......you know what's happend after ha ha ha XD

Thank's man this is so creepy

  • The original was creepier, if that's even a real word.

  • Classic

  • u know how much this would hurt?!?!??!!!?!?

  • yea have u guys noticed that kenneth is having major muscle spasms?

  • i was just watching this and my sister creeped up onn me and scared the shit out of me!!! lol

  • This scene, the gamecube one, is in my opninion much better than the scene in Resident Evil UC. Kenneth looks there like a doll, and looks like he doesnt care that he's being eaten

  • poor kenneth being eaten alive XD

  • I miss the corpse looking like Michael Jordan on REmake. :(

  • lol I still play old version and the remake and the zombie in the old one looks like a old person and in the remake the zombie looks so fricken scary.

  • i was hopin to get scared

    i'm dissapointed.

  • not alone i suppose, i guess REs magic has left the building, the zombies are ugly, but not scary -_-. F.E.A.R 2 anyone?

  • You mst be abit sick, what do you do, stuff dead animals for a living?

  • funny thing about the eyes

(old version) hey look, blue eyes, he seems ok

(new version, white eyes) holy $#@&! zombie!!

  • @specart351 Please, they preferred to be called the "Living Impaired". ;)

  • guuauauau da miedo XD

  • Nowhere near as scary as the original

  • Well, if you look closely you can see his eyes are turning towards your direction. But yeah, what was frightening in the original was the eyes of the zombie but here they're white/transparent. Well, one of the greatest scenes in horror video games !

  • @Willdo89 Yeah something about the way is nearly invisible people suddenly turning in your direction makes this scene almost scarier than the original. If they combined the decapitation and half-eaten face from the original and had the zombie from this version, it would be the scariest videogame scene of all time!

  • Kenith dosnt look black?? But still it is creepy

  • Its because of the lighting I guess

  • holy crap

  • lot scarier than the ps1 ver.

  • holy shit

  • FFS
