  • LOVE IT "JTM745i"

    Best regards Jens :-)

  • That VW looks ugly near the E23

  • i have one and im planing to restore it too....

  • Beautiful car

  • english please

  • ok so in English I have written what is this rubbish for a video as an old car which will still look totally ugly does what is so special because we tuned in germany get something not even permit a street with such a car but dare no normal people on the street with such a scrap heaps! what century you come from?

  • You are kind of funny actually :)

  • royroyal11- your a complete idiot, your ignorance amazes me. The 745i turbo is 1 of the greatest cars ever made, Its a good kept secret.

  • lol

  • @royroyal11 DU HAST GAR KEIN PLAN MAN!

  • lovin the black rado sittin next to it ;)

  • nice, whe have one 1982 alfa romeu restored ^^ but bmw rulez

  • It's okay tho ;) I just want to post good luck with the project... theese 80's cars have more personality and stile than the cars of nowadays! cheers mate!!!

  • nice project tho... but that is before restoration... what about the car today???

  • It's not finish, havent painted it yet and still have some rust to take care of but it sure looks better. I have at least welded some of the rust.

  • what this techno

  • Some sort of titanic trance remix

  • yeah its a shame if im honest...

  • Yeh i was considering putting that motor in an e28 RHD. Just wanted to know if it would fit without any problems.Would u happen to know. Yea i wantd to bring it up to around 1,2 or 1,5 boost. That shuld be fairly quick and shuld reach approx. 450-500hp correct me if im wrong.

Thanks for the info too buddy.

  • e28 is no sweat. It fits the e30, even the e21! on a stock stock motor, from what i know 400-450 is the limit. the internals can take it to ~600, but fuel issues must be taken into consideration prior to that. not just a rrfpr, but injectors, management even. best of luck!

  • damn, just remembered... there were some problems with rhds, as the turbo took more space than the wheelwell would allow... sorry if i misinformed you. but things should work fine, even if a little bit of tinkering would be required:)

  • Won't work on a RHD because the turbo interferes with the steering shaft.

  • Question buddy.

Aren't stock 745's quick enough and would they be able to fit in a RHD car?

Also, some people say that 745's are not quik being stock but 252hp is pretty quik compared to other stock cars on the road today. How does she go now with the 1,2 boost?

  • Actually they aint "that" quick from stand still, because they do more than 100km/h in first gear, was almost only delivered with automatic transmission and are a bit heavy.

But when you have got it up to 20-25km/h or more its very quick in acceleration yes. Stock they run pretty well, but thats only at 0,5 bar. With 1,2 bar it's much faster. When you are accellerating from stand still its a little bit slow up to the first 0,5 bar, but from that and up to 1,2 bar you sure feel a lot of power.

  • Amazing car. I lust after it and was ecstatic when I examined one at the mall a couple months ago

    mattas242424,

I mustn't tell everyone what car I have, but I'm damn proud of it. Is my 168hp bimmer an "average shitty shopping trolley"? I'd say not.

  • let me give you another example: the 2000 Opel speedster - 147hp, 4 cyl, 2,2litre. And a fabulous car. I was talking out of anger back there, and was referring to the 1.9tdi "diesel power" mob. Let me guess... E30 325i? :) BMW was dumb to let their cars go fat. 170hp in an old car feels a hell lot different to 170hp in a 2008 car. Correct me if I'm wrong... 0-60 in around 7 sec? :)

  • Yes, a 1987 325is. 0-60 in about 7-7.5 seconds, depending.. Factory number was 7.4 seconds. Have you owned an E23 745i? I hear they're more for high speed "autobahn" touring, but do you know what is its 0-60 time?

  • no, but I wish I was.. currently I've gt en e39 540i, but, due to fuel-conscious people, is not worth much more than an e23 745.. If I find a clean, well maintained one, I might just be tempted! the stock 745 hits 100km/h in little more than 7.5s. It's great for cruising, although at high speeds its 0.37 truck-like drag coefficient limits top speed. I think it really feels between 80-180 (sorry, pretty hard to think in miles:P)

  • That's a very nice car you've got. What would you say the main difference is b/w an E34 and E39? My mom used to own a E34 5-speed (don't remember model) that was really fun, but not an outright sports sedan like my E30.

  • well, mine is a 5spd auto, non-sport and has the handling characteristics of an ocean-liner compared to the sport 540s. The E34 is pretty close in weight & mass, I'd say they're evenly matched, though the auto e34 is a sec or so over the e39. It's normal for the e34 to feel not as fun as the e30, due to the huge weight. That's why I was complaining about BMWs going fat...

  • I see, yeah, safety features, electronics, etc. I bet your 540i is comfortable on long highway stretches, I get a little tired in my E30 after so long. Each later 3 series I've driven feels a little more "distant" from the road, but the technology/efficiency is better. I can't imagine what it's like to drive an E60 M5(!)

  • Ok, I understand, forgive me matts...Thanks for correction

  • To everybody:

I'm not boo-ing the 745 presented here, and my harsh comments weren't directed at Moepower!!!

Personally I like the E23 very much, it was the first car I dreamed about, and perhaps I am more emotionally attached to this than anything else (though my favorite would be the very early models). I was barking at Gosiaismylife, because I can't stand people who brag for no reason. He said he would trade his lambo lp640 for this. I can't stand liers and braggers.

  • it is okay, i think we all just missunderstod each other for a moment.

  • Yeah matts, you got right, buy some Lambo or something like that( you can uy Lambo with Diesel, lol)...And enjoy a driving, leave classic cars for others who dreaming about these. I`m one of thousands like MoePower. And I stop dreaming when I buy some of E23 745i...252HP...Ignorant

  • You too got it wrong! I wasn't talking about this 745 grr... Read more carefully and you'll see what got me mad

  • hello moepower2!

For the start it's a great car. My father is one of th top car collectioners in poland, and i've learn a lot. There are just 2000 of these car. My father used to talk about this car a lot. My final point, IM JELLOUS OFF YOUR RIDE!! (i would be able to exchage it with my lamborghini marcelago lp640!)

thanks for your time (and video)

  • Thank you to!

    Yes, its a lovely car.

This got some rust, but after some welding, repainting and restoring I hope this one will be nice after some years.

Do you mean 2000 left in the whole world?

Those was build 16 000 of when they was new, but I dont think so many of them still is alive to day.

  • :)) kid you need to stop dreaming. there are literally THOUSANDS like you, kids ~ 20yo who MUST tell others what Their car is. My 2cents say that your car is a shit-hole diesel... not even 300hp. Really. Stop dreaming. I know guys who REALLY have expensive cars (I'm one of them) - and you're not one of us. So go back to your 100hp average shitty shopping trolleys, or if you want to back your claim, post a video of your car. Let's see that:))

  • oh, btw, I'm referring to the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 (1:18) "owner".

  • The BMW E23 745i got 252hp originally, at 0,5 bar of boost, this one got 1,2 bar..

    It should give around 350hp

If you do not like the car, leave it alone.

  • oh, btw, it's an 3,2 liter petrol-engine..

  • Whoa, nonono, bro! I wasn't talking to ya. I like the E23 VERY much, though, for no real reason, i love the carb 730s from '77-'79. I was talking to the kid who would trade "his" Murcielago... I'm pretty much a bmw guy myself, my first love was an E23, that's why I arrived here. I just hate kids who have erotic dreams and like to brag with what they say they have. Btw, weren't 2 variants, the 1st 3.2 with a 3s[d auto, and then the 3.5 with less boost & the 4hp22 ZF?

  • Yes, there was two variants of E23 745i, and what you say there is correct.

  • That would be the only negative with it yes.

  • nice car , i used to have one a year a go 745i turbo charged, its really great and strong car,but it takes LOT of fule!!

  • Thank you :)

  • I love your car ;) It looks very nice nad that sound, poetry.I am also a huge BMW fan, iI already managed to let's say restore my own one, the 316i E30 89' model, but I stil needs some minor work.Keep one the good job :)

  • maybe its fast but ugly :) and old
