Bebel is #1 in contemporary (pop or brazilian) singers until I hear different.! Many Musicians including singers want to experience greatness ( like Bebel and also her father accomplished), but few have measured up. Plus, nothing like a good samba! ie., Marisa Monte and Lady GagGag (Ha.Ha!) need to study Bebel's singing technique and deilvery of a song.

The best performance of this song, in my personal point of view, was made by Fernanda Abreu.

There is a good performance of this song in youtube by Bebel Gilberto, in which she compensates a little in comparison to this one, but still not as good as Fernanda's.

An alternative interpreter, Marisa Monte, in a more jazzy fashion can be heard in youtube too.

Sorry, but I don't agree with you. I watched and listened the version of Fernanda Abreu and I didn't like it. Bebel's version is absolutely superior.

Jazz style version of Marisa Monte is not real Brazilian music neverthless she's a great singer.

well, let me correct it; I should have said "love-making", instead of "having sex" because the latter suggest something more wild, and there's more to it in this song than just that. In fact, the translation for "fazer",to make, is used here "eu faço samba e amor" which literally translate as " I make samba and love"
