If companies like WalMart were forced to pay illegal immigrants the same minimum wage as Americans, then any incentive for these companies to hire them is effectively destroyed. In the case of the equal rights activists, we're talking about people who are already citizens who want to be treated the same as other citizens. In the case of illegal immigrants, we're talking about people who aren't citizens who want to be treated as such. Besides it's not like they can't apply legally. who exactly does it discriminate against? if you are caught on a charge you will be asked to provide identification like normal. if you are not a citizen you will be deported. not our fault all the immigrants are from mexico here in the southwest, its simply how it worked out with the placement of a poor destitute nation next to a wealthy one. if mexico were a majority white nation there would be no problem "discriminating" when deporting them.

Some jobs aren't worth the minimum wage, therefore people are unwilling to pay minimum wage for those jobs and there only recourse is to hire someone illegally off the books.
