I do improvisation a lot as well, and it feels very natural for the most part. But according to my composition teacher, for the most part, the great composers sang their melodies. It will become very useful when she inevitably starts writing for large orchestras.

In all honesty, that's amazing. Better than all my compositions. The only suggestion I have is to sing your melodies as you write, instead of playing them. Instruments are made to emulate the human voice, and while playing can over time become a reflex, singing is an innate ability in most everyone. Her melodies will be stronger and more human-like. This is still brilliant.

It is full-bodied yet delicate, classic yet modern, and has a sophistication I cannot imagine being played well by most 10 year olds, let alone composed by a 10 year old artist! If I was a BBC producer, I would commission this as a theme for a witty, intelligent mystery series. It has a bit of a Brit Lit feel to it.
