Ovan is hard as fuck to beat. I have Pi and Atoli at lvl 118 but I see your at lvl 123. I might need to get that level. And remove Atoli and replace her with Enderance.

this fight reminds me of something that happened in vol 2

It was around 10 when i fell asleep, piros(at like lv 32 or lower, might've been 28, i don't have him in my party much) was fighting ovan..... i wake up around 1 or 2, and the corbenik battle was up on screen.. piros's hp was only around 100 when i fell asleep, while ovan's was around about half depleted. any idea how that happened?? me and endrance were dead by the time i fell asleep

he was kinda easy... i had atoli + Pi in my team, so i usually use Tiger Strike, Ghost Falcon and stay away from him when needed xD

@shanahayate Yeah, just hold L1 whenever you want your party members to follow you. I remember saying to myself in Rebirth "Man, there needs to be a 'Gather' command so your allies don't stand around and take a huge beating... and then they add it in Vol.2, lol.

I kicked Ovan's ass on my first try, then again, I was overleveled.

I had Kuhn in my party and gave him a skill candle. He pretty much did everything with Dust Bullet.

I love this fight. But I admit it was a pain. I beat him on my 2nd try the first time I played through these games. Beat him again the other day on my first try. I was level 120, Atoli was 120 and Kuhn was 118. Had to use a few attack items but in the end I beat him. I love the scenes after this fight though. Some of the best voice acting in the game imo

Man... I recall all those times I spammed with Fire Barrel and other quick spells... Heck I didn't dare go against him without Atoli to heal.

Props to you man! You beat Ovan without a healer! Something I'm scared to do! LOL

Though yea Ovan is one tough boss... even after you beat him the first time, he just keeps going!

I did this match at lv 120, because I thought that was the recommended lv, so I died the first two times, but I pwned him the 3rd time. I finally read a walkthrough and it said you should at least be lv125 before attempting this and that at lv 120 it is virtually impossible xD I was like "Oh..."

Because it's faster, stronger, and definetly better than waiting for like 5 seconds until Haseo finally does the slam attack, which does less damage that you would've done by keeping the Guard Cancelling attacks (the single hit ones).

Which you shouldn't even do. She'll rob you for it, it is un-alchemized, and there are much better sources and easier ways to get Hidarus.

Man watching this reminds me of two things. One is after you get the last form, i hate how you have a slight wait time after using arts. And 2, the dowan is ugly imo. Thats why i stuck with the otome till i could use the silad.

I use the Otome as an Elemental Attack random weapon for item spam in the main game, but for whatever reason, I seem to have grown used to and attached to Fenlong and Hidaru after using them for so long.

The Invites are attachment effects on the Doppelganger weapons. Heine's Shadow(broadsword) has Past Invite, Heine's Zero(scythe) has Devolve Invite. PI halves the target's current HP, DI reduces the target's HP by 90% with a 10% chance of activation. It only works with physical attacks(For Broadswords, the first slash with the X button, and the Guard Break's shockwaves, for scythes, the first two slashes with the X button)

Not a -terrible- job, but you really made it harder on yourself by focusing on the orbs a bit too much. Just pound on Ovan, and when the orbs come up, use the Scythe to hit him and the orbs. Seriously, it should never take you more than two awakenings to kill him if your at 122.

Just save before you kill him and load whenever you feel like kicking his butt save a seperate file and get on with the game

When in doubt, level up! 117 is a bit low for Ovan.

Keep using items to build up the morale bar.

Use (avatar) Awakening when the Restore Neighbours appear.

Make sure you give revival medicine to party members. It would be a bonus to survive the special attack aswell.

Leveling is always a plus. It took me while to beat him also. Train to over 129 or so. Then he'll be easier.

Personally, I relied more on Avatar Awakening to take out the Restore Neighbors in one shot.

I had the some problem with Ovan i think it took me around 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning and i was underlevel but no matter how many times he beat me i go back and try again. Also you have the Lost Weapons use them.

Haseo was 123, Pi and Endrance were 122. They had their lost weapons (Pi's was growth level 4 I think) and Haseo had Drain Gorai twin blades, Wrath Dorwan (probably spelt both weapons wrong XD) and ticking death growth level 4.
