this works on cotton, the selfweeding paper is from china. they used subliamtion or pigment ink but for better picture output sublimation is bettter.

Was the 2nd piece of paper just regular paper, or do you have to use a particular kind?

Sublimation is self weeding by nature. The ink is transferred via a gaseous process. There isnt any polymer adhesive layer. The catch is you have to buy special shirts and novelty products to receive sublimation. You cannot sublimate on just any old shirt. The ink and printer are specific too. I was under the impression that inkjet sublimation was by its very nature "weedless". Considering that inkjet sublimation does not use any polymer on the transfer sheet. Regular inkjet transfer and laser transfer however, do. If you even have a need to weed in the first place, then it's not sublimation. That's what I've always thought.
