  • Awesome, although you don't need a hand blender to make mayonnaise. Hand-whisking while slowly pouring in the oil will suffice.

  • My teacher taught by Michelle Roux showed us a technique that was completely different to this and it is pure manpower no blender just a whisk and the ingredients you add the oil bit by bit to the egg thats why people FUCK UP

  • You should season last and add the oil slowly as your mixing . More importantly you need to pasteurize the yolks before making the mayo . You need to take a double boiler and fill the bottom with water and bring to a simmer , place the yolks in the top and add cold water then place this in the simmering water . Allow the top to simmer until you reach 136f then turn the eye off and allow it to stand for 5 min , this will pasteurize the yolks making the mayo completely safe to consume .

  • @Burmiya No offense but I've tried all those other skinny cooks recipes and ate at so many restaurants and can say the food are so tasteless. I'm slim myself since I have a fast metabolism so I can eat as much as I want and not gain any weight. I exercise regularly & eat healthy as well so I have no problem pushing down fastening food from time to time, since it doesn't effect me. People with a heavier build families usually tastes better. Especially in Italian family cooking. A lot more flavor.

  • If you don't use some sort of binder, like the mustard, the mayonnaise won't combine. The mustard works as an emulsifier, and it is better to add the oil slowly. Do not add the oil in all at once unless you really beat the mixture well or else it will just separate and be a liquid mess of half oil and eggs.

  • @ShmeeLovesSquee Oh and the amount of oil can be changed if you like. Some people like their mayonnaise thin, while others like it really thick. So the actual amount of oil affects the thickness or thinness of the mayonnaise. :)

  • this is wrong. you shouldn't add ALL of the oil at once. Drizzle it slowly little by little while mixing/whisking. Only then you can be sure it won't separate.

  • turned out to be terrible, was very runny and yellow in colour , nothing like whats shown in the video. After refrigerating it, there was a thick layer of the oil on top. I followed the instructions to the T.... wonder what went wrong.... any suggestions?

  • @fleetingray You need to add the oil very slowly at the beginning while mixing. If you do that then you get that mayo thickness. The mayo he makes is just to thin..
