@kmhtigger it means sealing in moisture with an oil. So when you put moisturizer on your hair, to prevent the moisture from leaving, you put oil on it to trap in the moisture. Hope this makes sense
I started going to the salon every two weeks to get body wraps. my hair is growing but I would like to get more tips from anybody with long healthy hair.
It shows length. You guys remember Rudy when she was little on the Cosby show? Rudy hair was natural and bushy and BEAUTIFUL!!!! even Vanessa had a full head of hair. Rudys hair was in the middle of her back. If she would have put in a relaxer it would be at her butt. Alot of black women hair can retain length, its just the damn products that we use. remmber, we spend the most in the haircare industry. These companies make money off of us. We keep using and buying there products and
Omg!!! I wish people would stop being so ignorant!!! Black people hair grow just as much as whites. if it didnt grow, how do you explain, people with dreads to there ankles? Alot of natural sisters with kinky afro, puffy, coils, nappy, ( whatever you want to call it) hair is just as long if not longer than white folks. But because most of us our hair grows out it looks shorter. But when you pull it straight you see length. Thats like white folks with curly hair when they pull it straight,
Even the hair that we call long is a joke. Thet's not long hair. Hair that goes a little bit past your shoulders is considered short by just about every other group but us. It just goes to show how short our hair is, collectively, compared to other races.
I wonder why it is that soooo many sistats have such dificulty being hoest about the fact that our hair just does not grow out as long as other races. Its so obvious. Most black women have hair that barely reaches thier shoulders, while 1 out of every 2 white women have hair down to the small of their back. Its like we refuse to admit it, but everybody can see it.
i HATE BLACK GIRLS(ANY RACE) WHO ROCK WEAVE..BE YOURSELF.. i FIND IT MUCH SEXIER FOR A GIRL WHO IS NOT WORRIED ABOUT GETTING THEIR HAIR WET OR PULLED WHEN IM BANGING THEM FROM BEHIND..HAHA
you're so lucky because so many of my friends who have afro hair have been in tears for years over their hair not growing back after a cut, and one in particular really looked after her hair and it still didn't grow. You really have got lovely hair you're very lucky.
What's great is that your ends are not thin. How do you achieve this without trimming? I trim mine every 12 weeks. Plus, I do not wear ponytails. I've learned that they break my hair. It grew longer than it ever has once I stopped wearing them.
lol its so funny cause everybody always wants a secret method. She tells you what she did. She moisturized sealed and wore protective styles. There are many different ways to do it, you just have to do your research
I am so glad to see people squashing the myth that African hair does not grow. Our hair can and does grow when properly maintained. Thanks for the vid.
@ambitiousblkldy From what I know, most of African American women get a hairstyle called a "weave"? Correct me if i'm wrong.. I didn't know they could grow? (The Weaves)
Do you some African Americans have that kind of poofy hair, and others have the "weave"? So, some or born with it, or do they get a "weave"? (If I offended you in any way, I am sorry!:) Thanks! Bye.
@imjustadog ...No you haven't offended Blacks with your ignorant generalization because most Black people have "poofy" hair as you call it and so did "Jesus" because he had hair of wool and those of US with that same type of hair a LINK to him......
Newsflash...Not all Blacks in America wear weaves and the ones that do aren't doing anything that the many Whites that wear weave aren't doing...K
@Cymone777 Amen! blacks come in many shades, we possess a lot of beauty & i dont understand why so many people believe that all our hair is kinky, and that if its straight then it has to be a weave or perm! lThats soo pitiful! Theirs more whites wearing weaves than blacks! im black no perm, never had a weave (i want to try one) my hair is very wavy until you get to the ends its curly like big curls idk why bt it is my moms hair is bone straight she never gt perms .
@imjustadog I know a girl that has hair slightly longer than the womans in this video and she had a weave before Having a weave doesnt mean you dont have hair its just a hairstyle. Like extentions (which is what white women wear ,right?) Its just a different way to style your hair. Not most african american wear weaves some do though! btw I bet you live in the south. I used 2 live in texas and I can tell you dont know a lot of african americans.
@imjustadog just to start off AFRICAN AMERICANS ARE BEAUTIFUL we come in every shade,we have many different eye colors, & hair textures !my daughters are fully african american my youngest hair is bone straight its been like that since birth its thick and straight my oldest daughter hair is very curly both there hair reaches to the middle of there backs. i have 2 textures of hair its curly & wavy. everyone DOES NOT get perms or weaves. to be honest i see more whites w/ weave.so yea
The thing is that society always focus on Whites and many Blacks assimilated to their way of dealing with their hair but as Black people we need to realize that no one has hair like us and that we need to take care of our hair differently and I'm so glad for the many Black women and Black girls who are educating Blacks on the science of OUR hair.....

@MissChar527 Hey I can give you some tips I am 12 and I am growning my hair back out! I use to have dead ends but I got it chopped! all the wayto the middle of my neck! Now its a past my neck by 1/2 of a inch so here some greats tips!
1. Do not wash your daughter's hair every day make sure you wash it every 3-4 days or 5 for healthy hair (cold water for more shine)
2. Take viatamins! (It depend how old your daughter is) Like biotin
They key to healthy hair is MOISTURIZERS and washing.....our hair has got to be moisturized if not you can look forward to nothing but breakage ;) and split ends
How long did you used the aphogee line to get your hair back healthy.or you just moisturizing and sealing inbox me.your hair growed so fast. and it is pretty and healthy.
@beauttty07: dusting is not exactly cutting nor trimming. It's actually taking the smallest amount of hair off possible. It's like taking 1/4 an inch or less hair off the ends
WOW! its so shiny&healthy..girl i am having the hardest time comitting to my hair regimns. i guess its a subject of willpower...keep up the good work your hair is looks amazing!!!!
Wow u have beautiful hair girl! My hair is about shoulder length. I do think it's healthy to trim ur hair though. I get mine trimmed every 6 weeks an so far it's gotten thicker stronger healthier and longer. Thanks for the vid!!

@aintanothaguru Yes cocount oil helps to grow hair and castor oil helps to prevent hair loss problem and make your hair thick and extra virgin olive oil helps to maintain the volume of hair that is why i suggest u to mix all this 3 oils together and apply but remember do not use plain olive oil because it is processed in chemical use only extra virgin olive oil
Hi just looking on the comments here not seeing any responses to what you used. I'm starting to grow my hair back as well what were your steps ad products. Thanks
@KDYM0ND Hi im an indian girl and i have long hair . U can use castor oil if u have hair loss problem. u can also mix castor oil with cocount and extra virgin olive oil and massage it in your scalp and u can leave it overnight or atleast 2 hours and wash with herbal shampoo and conditioner . DONT wash your hair everyday u can oil and wash your hair onces or twice a week .hope this helps u to grow your hair.
Hi Fgrogan. my hair is in a bob, but not all the same lenth. I use to love to wear my hair short, but love to wear long beautiful wigs . I'm going to start my journey as well using your moisturizing, sealing, when to do a relaxer etc. You inspire me to grow my hair back. You will definitely get a prayer from me.Take care!
Ok now i have some questions i haven't had a perm since may of 2010 and since i really don't want to deal with the nappy crap i just get a sew in every two months....but since it's 2011 im waiting til May come again so i can just wear my hair because i hate wearing weave....Long Story Short:: Will my hair grow longer since im wearing the sew in?? What should I put on my scalp since its braided??
@Gorgeoustangirl Hi! I have been natural for 3+ years. All I did was keep my hair braided in a circle and wear wigs (mono, lace ect..). My hair is to the middle of my back now. Unfortunately I have so much hair and it is so THICK that now that I have it, I rarely want to be bothered with it! I am relaxing (Affirm) next week and sealing it with the BKT. Good luck on all ur hair endeavors!
hello i was watching your video and i must say that i am very impressed by what you have achieved with growing your hair and i just had a few questions to ask you if you dont mind and if you have the time so whenever you can could u please email me at ladywood@hotmail.com please
My mom started off with the same length as you (maybe a little shorter) and i would like to know what you did meaning by "moisturizing, and protective hair styles" etc
@kendruhhx105 i think she means protecting ur ends....for chemically treated hair it is susceptible to damage especially split ends which will lead to breakage....to prevent spilt ends its best u moisturize ur ends on a daily basis or when needed
You have truly encouraged me!!! I sat here and watched all of your videos and wanted to as you some questions. What type of hair dryer do you use? What type of protective hair styles do you recommend. (im military and theres not to many hair styles I can wear so Ponytails everyday).
I've been using this ebook called 'Secrets to Growing Black Hair Long' for the past 2 months and my hair is growing like crazy and even has a looser coil texture :) ! the link is on my channel page.Good luck :)
wow....no dusting in 10 months with ends that thick....how often do you flat iron and wear your hair loose versus protective styles? I was thinking of dusting every 6 months with loose/straight hair only one week per month
OMG i want my hair to grow as well. I think its kind of damaged, but idk how to get it like yours..:D please tell me how you did it. the products, how many times you applied them, what to do..! lOl pleasee..:D hehe i wanna grow out my hair soo bad.
hi my name is diamond and i have vey short hair and i wanted to grow my hair out and i was just wondering wat products should i usde and wat should i do to my hair? hope you respond to this video a soon as possible

No breakage with all that easy access to moisture. Your strands are not fighting for it. problem solved. Also there is no hyper manipulation to tame the hair resulting in less stress on the strands.

KayBabyFresh2009 1 year ago
I thought when you don't trim your ends ..it breaks off your hair because you tend to get dead ends ...is that true??
MsCierarose91 1 year ago
@MsCierarose91 Well it depends if your ends are like really bad, but if your ends arn't damaged theres no need to always trim your ends.
Performization 1 year ago
@Performization right. ii only trim when needed.

Gorgeoustangirl 1 year ago
@Gorgeoustangirl Hi! I have been natural for 3+ years. All I did was keep my hair braided in a circle and wear wigs (mono, lace ect..). My hair is to the middle of my back now. Unfortunately I have so much hair and it is so THICK that now that I have it, I rarely want to be bothered with it! I am relaxing (Affirm) next week and sealing it with the BKT. Good luck on all ur hair endeavors!

My mom started off with the same length as you (maybe a little shorter) and i would like to know what you did meaning by "moisturizing, and protective hair styles" etc
thanks :)
kendruhhx105 1 year ago
@kendruhhx105 i think she means protecting ur ends....for chemically treated hair it is susceptible to damage especially split ends which will lead to breakage....to prevent spilt ends its best u moisturize ur ends on a daily basis or when needed

NumberOneAct 1 year ago
wow....no dusting in 10 months with ends that thick....how often do you flat iron and wear your hair loose versus protective styles? I was thinking of dusting every 6 months with loose/straight hair only one week per month
