I'm on my 3rd Sony - they rock - you wont regret it - the only reason I am on my 3rd is the first got stolen & I upgraded to the current one when they first brought out HD - that was 2 years ago & it is still spectacular. I would advise the extended warranty though if you take it to the beach - mine got sand in it and it cost $250 for a new shutter...
