  • The dude commenting below is wrong. Ur goal is NOT to kill it is to defend urself which is STOP them from attacking you. If u shoot them in the chest an they seize aggressive behavior Ur Job is done.

  • someone is giving false info. you should NOT be trying to KILL someone of u use a gun in self defense ur purpose is to stop them from attacking you not to kill them. But you should focus on shooting twice in the chest an once in the head, they may not die from those shots but it will stop them!

  • Great video, Just ordered the Wolff springs for mine. My wife couldn't pull it either.

  • For those thinking that self defense is not killing, your missing the point of the firearm. If you choose to carry a firearm, your are carrying for a particular self defense. Whether full metal or hollow they are designed to STOP a person and if that entails a death of attacker then it is what it is. If you think using full metal rounds is a lesser form of killing or hollows are too much, you've missed the point. People like u use bean bags in shotguns and wonder why your in jail for defense.

  • Hollow points are also for missed shots and will likely not ricochet and injure more people. So they help with 2 characteristics of full metal jackets.

  • THATS NOT A .38 YOU RETARD! ITS A .44! I WOULD KNOW ITS MY FAVORITE WEAPON IN COD!

  • @volcomzz93 Dude! Any real COD player would know it's a .38 that shoots .44 or .22...duh!! Oh and my mom said not to call me a retard. She says I am just special.

  • @SnowLobo95 LMFAO! So glad you got it.

  • @volcomzz93 It looks just like my pink .38, and we all know that guns on COD are what they appear to be.

  • I am buying one tommorow. Have two other Tauras revolvers and have put Wolff spring kits in both. Seems to make them alot friendler to shoot.

  • Very nice!! I like it I got to get one for my wife.

  • been looking at this for the same reasons you were, for my wife, she doesn't do great with semi thanks for the video

  • I'm wantin' a 2.5 inch Dan Wesson revolver. There's one problame, I'm 13 :-D.

  • @MrEJR26 Give it time. when you are able to buy your own you will have more than you know what to do with!!!!!! trust me

  • @CDLTonyPC I have airsoft and bb guns. I still don't know what to do with them ;-). By the way thanks for not trollin' me.

  • I don't know shit about guns, but isn't using the word "self-defense" and dealing with hollowround bullets a contradiction in some way?

  • @barrettski189 for self defense you would want a hollow point bullet because it expands better to make a more devastating wound to the attacker.

  • @barrettski189 I'm not sure how it's a contradiction. Please explain your question. I'd be happy to try and answer it.

  • @SnowLobo95 hey... sorry im so late. As the person that just commented my comment, my point is that a hollow round is designated for killing. Self defense shouldnt be about killing. Self defense is about trying to keep the general damage as low as possible. Pepper spray or tasers are self defense weapons.

    Greetings :)

  • @barrettski189 self defense is about doing whatever it takes to defend yourself from harm. its always better to only have one side of the story....yours.

  • @barrettski189 I kind of understand what your asking. it kinda does because when using a gun for self defense your really just trying to defend your self. Your not exactly trying to kill the guy but a hollow point round is designed for killing.

  • @jpwashere1 actually u should be trying 2 kill a person if you use a gun in self defense. Its used to stop a person by means of shutting down their body which most likely means killing. If u dont intend to kill/stop the attacker then you should not have been using a firearm. No gray areas here and people need to know the facts otherwise you go from victim to jailbird. Im not trying to be a d**k with you just trying to get you to be more understanding of what you SHOULD be thinking when carrying

  • @barrettski189 Hollow point rounds will mushroom on impact which decreases penetration and increases the disruption of tissue as it passes through a target. This makes for a much nastier wound, which is the whole point of a self-defense situation.

  • @barrettski189 hollow point bullets are a must for self defense - they expand and that means there is a less chance of penetrating that means a lesser chance of injuring or killing innocent bystanders they also have a better stopping power(so you can stop the attacker faster and you dont fire that many shots).

  • @barrettski189 I think the first 6 words of your sentence sums it up. Hollow Points are actually less of a danger to innocent people as the rounds do not over penetrate targets. In other words, the rounds are less likely to go through your target and injure people behind.

  • Hey thanks for the review. I have this one and can you tell me what do you use to clean the carbon/iron deposit on the outside of the barrell? Mine has what appears to be burn marks. Thanks

  • 470gr

    That's pretty light

  • when my dad was an active police officer he has a taurus 357 for backup....he doesnt trust 100% the jericho 9mm issued to them :D

  • Taurus is a great gun.i have a 82 in 4 in. Im just tired of guys reviewing guns that their wifes fire its a snub so course its going to kick get her a 25

  • What type of holster have you found to fit the Taurus P85? I have the Police Model 85 Ultra-Lite Titanium concealed hammer model and haven't been able to find a specific holster for it. I suspect that the Fobus TA 85 will fit, but I'm not very certain. By the way, thanks for the advice on the lighter spring. I bought this weapon for my wife as well, and she had difficulty because of the trigger pull tension.

  • This is the gun my grandma used for self-defense. I'm 12 and I don't really enjoy shooting it because of the recoil

  • My wife fired fifty rounds from the gun both single and double action. She was thrilled with it. She surprised the heck out of me, she shot great with the new springs installed.

Just one question though. Why dosen't this pistol come from the factory like this??

Why do we have to go out and make these essintial adjustments ourselvs.

  • Take out your factory trigger spring .Place it on a piece of white paper .Mark both ends of the spring with a pencil. Compare wolf 6.5 trigger spring. mark one end.compare with factory spring . Factory spring is about 2 coils shorter.Cut two coils from the wolf spring. File end of coil that was cut. Install wolf spring,You should have no problem. Fire 50 rounds. If not satisfied take it to a good pistol smith.Good luck . Lobo , you were right it was easy. Right on the money. Thanks

  • @dannyfivefifty Awesome! I'm glad it all worked out for you. How did it shoot? Hopefully it was a whole new and nicer gun overall. I have to thank you for posting the instructions for the new trigger spring. Someone ran into trouble last week with the trigger spring not letting them cock the hammer back completely. It has honestly been well over a year since I put the new springs in. I had forgotten about the possible two extra coils and no longer have the instructions. Anyway, thank you.

  • @SnowLobo95

Thanks for the review dude I love the way this gun looks, like a little revolver... I'd like to own one like these. How would you rate the accuracy? Cause I love to go to the shooting range (and use it for personal defense ofcourse) but somehow it doesn't seem very accurate, I could be wrong though... Thanks.

  • In a few years I may be getting a handgun for the same reasons as CampingestBoyAlive, in my car/apartment just in case. I'm thinking either a Taurus Millenium pt111 or a .38 special. What do you guys suggest? (or is there any other gun that'd be a better choice?) :P

  • Hey man nice review, one question. I picked up the same gun and I got the spring kit from wolf. I'm having a issue however with the trigger spring. When I install the 6.5lb or 9lb spring the hammer does not fully cock back. The wolf hammer spring is installed with no issue. Even with the stock hammer spring, and the 9lb wolf spring the hammer still doesn't cock back to the locked position. Did you have this issue?

  • @woottanggang I didn't run into that problem. I'm not sure what's going on there. It sounds like something is out of place. If you put the factory springs back in does that cure the problem?

  • @SnowLobo95 dannyfivefifty just posted some info about the 6.5 lb wolf trigger spring. Honestly It's been more than a year since I've done the wolf trigger mod to my revolver. A had forgotten that you may have to cut a couple of coils from the new spring. I vaguely remember this. It should be in the wolf instructions or see danny's comment on this video. Props to dannyfivefifty for posting the instructions.

  • When I'm 18 and go to college in LA I plan on buying a compact pistol or snub nosefor my car and apartment,

Since I only plan on buying one inexpensive revolver or sub/compact handgun, do you think this would be the ideal option?

I don't plan to take it to the range very often nor maintain it, aside from taking the proficiency class and keeping it in a drawer.

  • @CampingestBoyAlive You hear about how reliable revolvers are and there is a reason for that. They just work. Of course any mechanical device can fail but it is very rare with most quality revolvers. They are also simple to load and use. They are relatively safe without having an external safety because of the dual action trigger. The .38 special is a proven man stopper and this Taurus, although not top of the line, is a high value gun. However I don't think it is legal to purchase until age 21.

  • @SnowLobo95

my dad's going to buy me a gun to leave in my apartment. nothing legally wrong with that right?

  • @CampingestBoyAlive Can't do it. 21 is the pistol buying age far as I know, just about anywhere.

  • @squee116

I'm not going to purchase it, my dad is. It's only going to be in my care. And no I'm not going to carry it around everywhere as a CC gun.

  • excuse me, is + P?

    great video!

  • do you know how this revolver weights fully loaded with most cartridges

  • That is a really cool gun. I bought a Rugar lcr and wish I had bought the Taurus 85 instead. Mine fully loaded weighs less than 1 pound but is tough to be accurate with.

  • im actually buying this very fire arm in two weeks, i was a little sceptical at first, but im sold now , hahaha thanks for this post, and i would like to know what spring kit you got and how to install it.

  • Gave you another like on your vid. Nice review, been thinking about getting one for sometime now. I'm new to this youtube thing, your camera is awesome what are you rendering your HD videos to? What is the final format? I use Sony Vegas and i'm lost! With some practice, I'll get it someday!

  • I carry one of these also, but my concern has been that my trigger takes very little pressure to shoot that I considered changing it to make it a little tougher.

  • Just got my wife a Taurus model#85 Ultra lite.Trigger pull on this gun is very heavy, and wife can't pull it back all the way to fire it. I am looking for a way to have it lightened so that she can shoot double action. How hard is it to put in the Wolf trigger spring set??

  • @dannyfivefifty Not really hard at all. If you struggle putting together a bed frame then I wouldn't attempt. it. There are a lot of videos showing how to do this. Also after you change the springs you may want to go out and test fire 50 or so rounds. This is to make sure that the hammer spring still has enough force to strike and ignite the primer. You shouldn't have any problems but it's always wise to test a gun after any modifications before trusting your life with it.

  • @dannyfivefifty Can't you get her a .22?

  • Excellent review. I have the exact same gun except for mine doesn't have the titanium cylinder. This was my first gun that i purchased 2 years ago and overall i like it. Unfortunately in my field of work it's not such a popular gun due to it's small stature and i've had to use my cousin's IMI Baby Eagle 9mm. The trigger is a bit stiff on the Taurus as you mentioned but it's a good first gun.

  • @oldbuchster Thanks for watching and for your kind comment. I think the Taurus M85 is a great concealed carry gun. It's small and light and although .38 isn't the most powerful round, it's a proven man stopper with modern hollow points.

  • Does she shoot +p rounds through that thing, my wife's kicks +p as hard as 10mm and she wants regular 38 special to try.

  • my God dude, your picture quality is gorgeous! What camera are you using if you dont mind me asking?

  • @Peidmonte89 Thank you for your kind words. I'm using the JVC Everio HD with 20x optical zoom. It has been a great little camcorder.

  • Glad she is happy with the pull now. Great looking revolver, what is a ballpark price for the titanium version? Great job man, lovin your vids.

  • @tim12161974 Tim you are probably looking around $350. I think the quality is really good for the price. She continues to put rounds through it and so far it has worked perfectly.

  • @SnowLobo95 That's a great price for that revolver. New springs and it functions well, why spend 700 on a Smith.

  • @SONOFAHGUN They are a good little gun at a good little price. Thanks for watching!

  • thanks for the vid

  • Just going through some of your vids before leaving for work and I must say you've got some great content. Keep up the excellent work!

  • I loved this gun SO MUCH, that after I sold it, I rebought a taurus 38 to replace it; wasn't the same model, but hey... it helped heal some wounds :D

  • Another great review! Your vid has been added to the playlist/categories on The Tactical Forum!

  • Hey, cutlerylover just got a Taurus .357. Go check it out.

Thanks for the great vid info.

  • Nice gun IMHO. I have owned many Taurus guns and none of them have let me down. We have gone primarily to revolvers for CC. It was hard to go hammer-less for me but I am really glad we did for the reasons you mentioned (practice etc..) My wife got an LCR and loves it, she had a S&W she was into for about $1200 including the custom work, but she sold it after she got that LCR. I think snubbies are excellent because of their versatility / reliability / simplicity.

  • That's a nice lookin little revolver. My buddy has one and says he enjoys it. Nice review Snow.

  • @Cr0cket20 Thanks CrOcket!

  • REALLY nice vid. I like the gun vid's that represent the wives. Give's me some great birthday ideas!!

BTW, what's even more graphic than a XXX video?? An XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

    video!! :)

  • @74Hobbes Dude you made my day! Every time I thought of the XXX video comment I started laughing. My coworkers were thinking I had lost my mind. It was great! Thank you.

  • @SnowLobo95 LOL!! Glad I could be of service dude! Just watch out though... YouTube might start pulling those Xtra XXXX type vids...

  • i have been thinking about getting a light weight revolver. this one looks like a nice option. might be nice to mention how much you paid for things to give people a reference point, at least information i find helpful in reviews. keep up the good work my friend.

  • @NSE54 You are right man! I totally forgot to mention a price on the revolver. I think We got it for around $350 but it's pretty much priceless since it gets my wife excited to go shooting.

  • great examination

  • Nice video. That looks like a cool small revolver. Out of curiosity, what is the make of the scale you were using and a ball park price? I am in the market for one.

  • @biguy525 Hey my friend. The scale is a Mainstays digital kitchen scale I bought at Walmart. I think it was in the $15 range. It weighs up to 10 lbs.....weighs in grams, kilograms, ounces, and pounds.

  • Nice video and info on the trigger and springs. I think Crimson Trace makes a laser sight grip for it but they are a bit pricey. You've got some annotation blocks with only X's that keep popping up, FYI.

  • @HawkLMT Hahaha....yeah I forgot to block out the serial number when I Filmed it and noticed it after I uploaded it. I'm an idiot:) It suck! The X's kind of ruin it.

  • @SnowLobo95 Oh, I see. I thought it was a glitch of some sort. Still a great overview of the wheel gun. Wouldn't mind seeing some footage of your wife shooting it. Might inspire other ladies (i.e. my wife and daughters) to shoot more.

  • @HawkLMT My main man it is funny you should mention that. I actually have some footage from yesterday of my wife shooting the 38. It's on the way as soon as I can get it edited.

  • HELO.. I'm guessing that scale wasn't made in the USA :P nice review bud, was looking into one of those recently for my wife, but currently going with a Ruger LCP, she hasn't shot it yet, so that may change.

  • @Vhammer2010 SnowLobo also has a review on the Ruger LCP. Check it out

  • @Vhammer2010 I doubt if the scale is USA.....got it at Walmart so that pretty much says it all. I really love my LCP. My wife.....not so much. She says it hurts her hand. Hopefully your wife will like it. If she doesn't then I guess maybe you will be forced to add it to your collection:)

  • good review and heads up on stiff trigger
