  • i feel like this is how my band director sounds like whenever im hurting trying to hold up this baritone at attention HURRY UP AND GIVE US DIRECTIONS! mark........... time............... mark ugh!

  • guys hes old and he cant read the flash cards that easily

  • no... this isnt a baritone or a euphonium... see how small the piping is? similar to a trombone... euphonium and baritone are much darker and have larger tubing.. and are obviously ALOT bigger

  • It's called a baritone, dumbass

  • @jheaver1 Though I have to agree with most everyone here that expertvillage is a waste, there ARE horns that are called tromboniums.

  • Hey white cleveland!

  • I would laugh so hard if this guy suddenly started playing "Flight of the Bumblebee".

  • Thats why the trombones sit at the front of back of the band, so they don't hit others when they march,... retarded guy

  • This guy talk slow enough that tuba players would make fun of him.

  • did anyone notice that he wasnt holding the trombonium right?

  • A useless instrument. Just learn to play and march the trombone.

  • Trombonium? or it could be called a euphonium or Baritone

  • i love this guy .. he's awesome :d he looks like my bed bed grand father :d

  • i love this guy... he talks so slow and weird but i love it!!

  • strongest halloween, can win it 2:10 xD click CC and transcribe audio :P

  • @euphonium414 Haha thats just great.

  • isn't a valve trombone just a baritone?

  • @sleetism Nope.

  • @sleetism no a valve trombone is totally different it looks like a trombone with valves on it he is using a baritone

  • @Thefunkintown nvm their is such thing as a trombonium

  • @sleetism no, the valve trombone is literally a trombone with valves. a baritone is a more cylindrical euphonium

  • @marktremontirules1 ahh i see well i know what a baritone was but when he said the valve trombone he had a baritone so i got confused

  • @sleetism that actually IS called a trombonium. it is literally a coiled up trombone. it's like a concert flugalbone.

  • @sleetism He had no baritone. Trust me. I've played a baritone for 4 years before just recently switching to my Euph. That is truly a trombonium. It bell is too narrow for the horn to be a baritone.

  • 1:32 to hear him play.

  • is he a priest?

  • @Xsgiggles read the desc

  • damn he has a nice tune

but stop abusing such an old man like him for your videos D:

  • this man slow

  • for any haters here, what are you expecting from this old man. it's already pretty good for his age. if you guys don't like to watch him speak or teach, then go watch something else. simple as that.

  • @theBlue123498 What would we do without your wisdom? We would all be Sooooo lost.

  • He maybe forgot what he should talk...

But I think he is a good guy

  • he's really good but...is he depressed?!?! haha

  • @MrTherandom you made me LOL

  • Thanks man! You have no idea how much this helped me improve my trombone playing!

No, I'm not going to be sympathetic because you are old, you shouldn't teach if you don't know how to teach. In general, most instrument lesson videos on Youtube suck...go with a private teacher and don't waste your time with these...

  • he's having fun on that trombonium lol

  • This guy looks like he is about to die, at first i thought he was already in the funeral home waiting...

  • this man has a really boring voice

  • woowww id think hed have a heart attack by now hes so old

  • Father, are you stoned?!

  • Holy smokes. I did not expect a Trombonium to sound like that. High school had an Altonium which I goofed with a few times. It sounded just like that but Alto. A neat instrument but absolutely useless for marching and really awkward to hold because it was so small.

  • Bet this guy is DRILL when he speaks in church

  • Protestants are cool.

  • Ah i thought it was a Baratone not a Trombonium

    Ah well

  • HOLY CRAP IS THIS IN SLOW MOTIONN????

  • In his past life, he was a turtle.

  • lol trombonium xD

  • haha i still cant decide but kings doo suck haha i like umm....Bach and Edwards

  • @zekefender BACH

  • uncomingjedi shut up u play nigga

  • @hair4523 first of all, how can you tell if hes black or not? and second, that is a very rude word to use. thats not cool man, cuz im african american... partly...

  • FOR GOD'S SAKE, PLAY!!

  • @epikownage no it isnt it looks far diferent than that and there are meany strange variants of instruments it could be what it realy is

  • @epikownage to tell you the truth man i never have!

  • @epikownage its not a baritone or euphonium its way to skiny and short to be either, and also it sounds alot different

    from an baritone and euphonium!

  • Thanks for lessons!

  • Cross a trombone with a euphonium and you get the Trombonium.

Made by King starting in the late 1930's (originally, the "Trumbonium"), this was an instrument originally designed for marching and mounted bands which could deliver a trombone sound without an ungainly slide. Note the narrow bore.

In the 1950's, it was popularized in jazz circles by J.J. Johnson and Kai Winding (pictured at left). King continued production of this horn into the 1970's.

  • He doesn't look like he wants to be there haha.

  • that sounds and looks like a baritone or euphoniam idk if i spelled that right

  • this guy talks SLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

  • @colbyman12 he's a priest and i just realized that after i finished the video and i accidentally clicked replay and i saw the white stuff on his neck

  • that's not a valve trombone

  • Its a trombonium, like the man sais!

  • hey grandpa, its called a baritone not a "valve trombone" or "trombonium"

  • Hey idiot, hes talking about a WHOLE different instrument.

You obviously have no idea about anything in the instrument world.

get your shit straight before you go shit talking someone thats better than you.

  • i know i dont know anything im only in begginers band i play trumpet.

  • thats no baritone!

  • No shit. Thats why he called it a TROMBONIUM. Someones smart...

  • hey idiot you have no life you pick on this nice man and your wrong that makes you look like the retard of a liming family( a liming is an animal that walks off of clifts)

and a baritone is silver and bigger trust me i work with people who own them i play the slide trombone in a band.

  • okay i know i probably shouldnt have said that it was mean but i was just angry for something and other than that thats cool you play slide trombone i play trumpet.

  • This guy is realy nervous on camera. It's funny!!! Look at the hand shake!!! Plus, he can hardley talk or play half his potential!!! :)

  • you are an idiot cenotosa1

He is shaking because he is old! DUH

get a life and stop picking on old dudes!!!

  • bethechangeic, at least im straight.

  • i'm not sure that you are.

and ps. so am i :P

  • @bethechangeic: you should be sure that I am because I am. the truth is not what you wanted to hear, but i really am straight. You're a little gay, but nobody's perfect.

  • congrats, your straight woo freakin hoo.

no one really gives a crap if ur gay or not.

I'm a girl, and i like boys = straight. duh

  • Um. Conn, King, and Bach are all made by Selmer-Conn now aka United Musical Instruments (UMI). They all make tromboniums/bass trumpets. Just a little FYI.

  • Well aren't you cool, attacking a guy on a video who can't hear you. By the way it would be stick, not stuck. You should get you grammar right, it makes people agree with you more.

  • @FunnyEstonian what the fuck is wrong with you cuban prick go colombia faggot ass valve trombonerrr

  • I almost fell asleep!!!

  • "the instrument company king that makes this wonderful slide trombone"

haha no. king horns are horrible, go with a conn or bach. the only thing kings are good at is having horrible tone.

  • Quite good for Jazz too.

  • Tu eres un loco pollo? I think it is just your embouchure is used to the bach or conn lead pipe. I am in New York and many jazz and latin players use King.

    Dios te bendiga hermano

  • that could be quite possible, most people round here use bach/conns but if kings are popular somewhere else it might be a locational thing

  • woah!!!!! omg ive never seen a trombonium... i march baritone and marchign euphonium and trombone but ive never ever seen a trombonium.... its soooooo sexiii!!!

  • This is EXPERT?

  • this cunt is baked off his tits

  • Awesome! I'm in marching, no worries about damaging the slide...

  • why would you use a trombonium i would rather use a bariton and i play the trombone the bariton has a better sound than the ugle trombonium and i thought that the trombone family was maid up of all the defrent types of trombones just like the trumpets

  • That's called a baritone horn? -.-

  • no it isn't

  • Uhh..yes it is?? That's a Baritone Horn...stick to your drums, and I'll stick with my brass? The bell is 12" and a Trombone is 7" to 9.5" This is a European Style Baritone but with an out facing bell. Looks like a .515" bore, it also sounds nothing like a tenor trombone? And if they are the same, I'd rather use the long stlye, valved trombones that have the same bore, and have 8" bells, they are also inexpensive and cheaper?

  • ruined my day by going all nerd on me

  • way to different baritone

  • Trombone. . . Euphonium. Trombonium?

  • I fell as if this guy will fall over dead at the end

  • so did I

  • i wonder what he sounded like in his prime

  • @kyleguyhighspeed Like...William Shat...ner. Many...Pauses...in between.

  • isnt it called a baritone?

  • i kinda thought the same thing too but it seems a little smaller than a normal baritone

also most valved trombones ive seen look just like the regular trombone but have valves instead of a slide so there not upright

iam not sure in this case though

  • No tronboiums are real they just look werid kinda like mellophoniums

  • The euphonium rocks the trombonium! Plus a Trombone has a brighter tone than a baritone horn, which has a brighter tone than an euphonium!

And I love that sweet mellow sound. But I am a tuba player too, so I'm a little biased.

  • Valve trombones and tromboniums are two different instruments. Valve trombones maintain the shape of the trombone. He was playing a trombonium, which is the shitiest type of trombone! And a Euphonium is not a trombone! OMG just cause they have the same range doesn't mean they're the same type of instrument. Euphonium is related to the tuba!

  • just give someone the other name for the euphonium and they will shut up about it being a trombone: "wagner tuba"

  • Well the Wagner tuba looks like a baryton horn, but is played with a big funnelshaped horn mouse

    piece

  • Wagner tuba has been replaced by the euphonium because the timbres are very similar and the euphonium is more accessible and in tune. The wagner tuba does NOT look like a baritone horn. It is a more open, and curved to the side. The Euphonium looks closer to the baritone. The Euphonium, being slightly different from all brass in its range, is sometimes called the tenor-tuba. The reason is that the conical shaping of the pipes resembles that of the tuba.

  • you are right, the wagner tuba is acutally played with a horn like mp and is played by horn players,a fluegel horn is like a soprano euphonium. wagner was fond of brass, and had basstrumpets, valvetrombones and cymbassos.

  • Wagner tuba is played left handed still looks very much like a German Baryton (=TENORHORN, Bretzel shaped oval)

  • I see it like this you got trumpets ,cornets and fluegel horns: the pipe diameter strait in the trumpet, bit thinner and earlier widening in the cornet, and quickly widening in the fluegelhorn. In the tenor range the trombone is strait as, barytone relates to the cornet and the euphonium to the fluegel horn.its how the diamer of the pipe developes makes abrilliant

    sound or more mellow ones.

  • Pretty good player considering he is old. Besides, its not like they make him do it over if he cracks the note now and then.

  • the trombone family is really the different types of trombone..Piccolo, Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass, and Contrabass and all of their variations..

  • this guy is awesome

  • he sounded like he was forced under will to do this video, haha

and hes not all that good
