@greggesimmons always my favorite year...although i like the 71 with the back tail brake lights on the trunk. This car is now running and driving....about to get some new tires..next spring, a new paint job.. :O)
@collomps what do you mean TFD tires? I've had it in the shop all Summer and it's running and drivable now....i've not replaced the tires yet, they are from about 1972 or 1973. They're not radials?
@OsbornTramain The Firestone TFD (Toronado Front Drive) tires were designed specially for this car, and discontinued long ago, so if you have a set of them(and they certainly look like TFD in the vid) , you have an -almost- impossible to find piece of automotive history.. dont burn it up! Also check your spare tire, you may have a TFD over there. I recommend you to use a set of modern radials (Way better than the originals) and store the TFD for show purposes.
@OsbornTramain k, i'm not sure, i'll check it out this weekend. the car has 98 thousand miles so they arent original...but at the same time.....the car was only 4 to 6 years old when the tires were purchased. I am planning on getting new radials......sadly, no rim or spare in the trunk.
@rambler68 no, that wasn't available until 1968 I think? It's the 425. I'm gonna get a new video of it on the road shortly.....it's now a running and driving car. About to be registered this week.
body is fantastic and the interior is near flawless....its running and very very soon on the road...going to a family reunion in it in a few weeks...should be drivable before end of august 11
my mom had a car like that, drove it everyday to school (she was a teacher ) from 66 until 95 when it finally died. the only negative thing was the trunk rusted out. and had been replaced with a home made fiberglass shell my dad rigged up. but it was a nice drive. all of us kids learned to drive on it...
nice car there! GREAT FIND! i have one of these cars since 1984 and know them well. Im working on mine as we "speak" If you need any help give me a shout out.
@pr129tbird3 Thanks, the funny thing is the guy across the street from me owns one too...there are two in the neighborhood now.....he's helping me get it going. We had it running for a few seconds! Starter seems to be very weak and apparently, its a first year only part for the Toronado. We may have to do some fixing on it.
Very unique car for its time! Almost like a car from the future! Toronados were always beautiful, but personally 66 was my favorite of all time.

I love that first gen Toro look, the 67 revision was not as nice and it went down hill from there.

All joking aside, very nice. Love the first gen Olds Toronado.

Love her. I want a black '66 Toronado like the one in The Dark Half.

Garaged all those years means the body must be pristine. Did anyone start it during that time or is it siezed?
