@rokarollaphh I thought it was pretty good actually. I like the power that the drums have on this album and the tone that this album has was pretty razor sharp. The mxong could have been better, That I can agree on, but as far as the overall production, I think it sounds pretty powerful. The drums hit you like a ton of bricks. Just my opinion though.

anyone catch them when they and pantera opened for Fates Warning? That was one hell of a show.  Most memorable to this day. Well that and seeing Vai play whilst being 100% sober. God bless Ann Marie Calhoun is all i can say about that one. but ummm before I go too far off topic. This band and Nevermore rock like nobody else i've heard aside from the above mentioned.

I would sit and listen to this cassette when I was 15 and it came out I would sit in my room and jam this tape on my stereo and read the lyrics that were included which was an added kickass bonus. I still have this original cassette and even an extra that I picked up for 3 bucks and I managed to come up with the tunes to burn on a CD. Refuge Denied...Classic 80's Thrash LP Top 10 easily.

These bands are heavily influenced by NWOBHM and thrash but they are basically American power/speed metal bands. The American power metal scene died after 1991 and is way underrated.

There are even some who call OMEN thrash. :S Never heard power metal before?

@88mpny Power/thrash is the closest I can think of. They are not your typical straight thrash metal like Slayer, Megadeth, Overkill, Anthrax... they have power metal elements. That's why I reacted on your comment. The only straight thrash metal band that was signed on Epic/CBS was Meliah Rage.
