great quality video from 1985 i remember seeing this at the time and i loved it and since no one else has put the 7 inch version on you tube this is a great upload, thanks!
This is an original TV to video recording from 1985. Frankly, it's miraculous the video tape plays at all. However, if you, or anyone else, has the same clip but in pristine condition, please post it and I will take this version down.
@madcowoom ... sorry, i understand the fact it's an old clip recoded from a video-tape, it was just a general thought - nothing personal; I was just being honest. That aside, you're to be commended for your efforts in bringing this rare footage of Tracie to light. :^)
Brilliant singer loved her in the 80s, Got her album today but this wasnt on it, One of the best female singers of that decade and one of the coolest and most important.
I can't tell you how many times I danced around the bedroom to this as a 15 year old. Heard it first on the radio and simply had to dash out and buy it. Definitely had the 7" and a feeling I had a 12" too (or is that my mind playing tricks?)
Whatever, it's still every bit as brilliant as I remember it, and it's a real treasure to uncover. Thanks to the uploader. Like many here, I'd love to have a clean, pristine digital copy that wouldn't wear out like the vinyl!
I recall there be definitely be videos for 'Give It Some Emotion', which was based around an obstacle course theme, and 'Souls On Fire', in which she was hanging round on a boat. I haven't seen these videos since the singles were out, so my memory is sketchy.
Totally agree with Colin, it's such a great song - the original is awesome and this is a great cover. No cd unfortunately, although I got as far as finding out that a compilation cd of respond label tracks was released that included this, but never found a copy. Good luck with your search!
Agreed, ajh2ajh. This should have been massive. Great cover of the George McCrae hit, and as I recall no one was more gutted than Tracie when it failed chart any higher than the measly position it reached. Have been looking for this on CD for years. Tracie Young - class act.
I was lucky enough to find Tracie's first album when it first came out. I wore it out and had to buy another. I hadn't heard it in years until a couple of years ago when I finally found it on eBay. I paid a crazy amount for it, but I was ever so happy when it arrived and I got to listen to it again (although its missing the track 'The House That Jack Built').
I knew she recorded again, but I never knew anything came of it. I have to say if this was it I'm glad I hadn't heard it. It sounds like a lot of the pop dreck that was coming out back then. I wish I could say I like it, but I can't.
I understand she's doing a show this month (June, 2009). Wish I lived in England.

Very Katrina and the Waves, Walking On Sunshine, nonetheless, a fun song, and a testament to Weller's insight at the time.

Just saw a performance of Give it Some Emotion. Now that's much better. I don't recall hearing that one before.
I don't recall ever seeing a video for Tracie either. Did she do any?
