If metal becomes more popular, imagine how many more emo people there would be! I listen to electronic music too btw, but good electronic, not crappy pop stuff. Bach and increase the tempo, add some death growls, and add a badass rhythm section they turn into amazing melodic death metal songs. Try listening to some of his pieces to get some inspiration for melodies and then the rest is just making the music sound "heavy." Also, learn how to harmonize guitars.

I don't understand how all of these lists of "Best Melodeath" bands don't include Carcass. They had Melo Death albums out before At The Gates, Dark Tranquillity *or* In flames. The thing is they didn't stick with it so they aren't mentioned much anymore... but still, they deserve credit. Heartwork may be one of my favorite albums in the genre.

It all started with At The Gates, mainly for the Gothenburg melodic death metal movement, but Dark Tranquillity came shortly after and In Flames was in '93 I believe. In Flames had two great albums, but after that, they kind of started mixing it up, only including certain elements from melodic death metal. Arch Enemy's first three albums were good, but they switched too. CoB? Ew.
