  • who wants xp

  • I would just like to say THANKYOU VERY MUCH! for showing how to get to the boot screen, saved me a laptop

  • hey buddy i have laptop whic dont support windows xp how can i install xp ... when ever i am trying to install it says that NO HHD FOUND IN UR SYSTEM help me

  • It worked!! although my bios didn't have a sata disable option, it did have a "compatible" option which I selected and was then able to install xp

  • thank you thank you thank you !!!!!!!!5/5 stars !! really helped me

  • Thx man

  • Thanks helped me a lot

  • 0:06 BSOD LOL

  • @newman30000010 yes I left the BSOD intentionally to show you guys that windows xp won't boot with sata enabled, then after disabling it through the BIOS windows xp started with no problems.

  • lol

  • Awesome.

  • does anyone knows the cons of using the sata in compatible mode?

is it like having an old ide disk?

So, theoretically, will i loose performance?

Is there any way to change back to enhanced once xp is successfully installed?

  • @fermixx

I think NCQ is the biggest benefit of Sata. The other is plug & play while the OS is running, for things like removable dvd-roms in laptops.

  • thx a lot man :)

  • Ty dude

  • i got this laptop...assept its fucked up atm i need a new hard drive. =/

  • Thx man

  • This made my day, thanks alot !

  • every time i go into bios it only gives me two options

    1.diable external drive boot

2.network boot and it just askes me if i want to enable them or disable them

  • Or You can just slipstream correct SATA drivers into the XP installation. :)

  • Thx mate...worked like a charm!!!

  • Ty, saved me a lot of time :3

  • i like to ask a question, i have a laptop which need to reformat, but there is a problem it can't be format because it always say it cant read the hard disc , so i know why it's like that, it is because that laptop dont have a sata driver at the bios it only have IDE only and also the laptop dont have that setting that can change to sata, so that my question what can i do to make my com can use sata hard disc ? do i need to find sata driver for bios ? what can i do ? help plzzzz..

  • thx thx thx thx thx htx a milion m8 :) 11/10 :)

I just both it and cant wait to install OS :)

  • now correct me if i am wrong but will you need to change it back to ACHI or what ever after you finish installing XP ?? cuz you see i have a toshiba satllite pro and i can change it but ppl been saying that you will end up with a slow performance and you might get the blue error screen. which will go away when you change the bios back to what it was using the floppy thiny.

  • No, you don't need to change it back after you finish installing WinXp. In fact if you do change it afterward you will definitely get the bluescreen while Windows is loading. The performance should be slower while in Compatible mode, but I personally haven't noticed any big difference.

If you really want to change it back to Enhanced after you isntall WinXP, there is a way, but I don't recommend it, since it could crash your windows.

  • hahahaha, is it necessary to be naked when doing this?

You guys that actually tried this nosense were punked big time.

  • Yup! You got to do it this way, the procedure requires it! Otherwise it just won't work :D

  • Didn't work :(

  • It is not possible, 90% of the notebooks with sata hard disk, have the option to make it to compatible mode(others have its name differently in the bios) which allows you to install windows xp without deploying the sata hard drivers through floppy on the beginning of the install with F6

  • Thanks, I'm gonna try right now!

  • So you put it in Compatible mode instead of Enhanced mode. I tried it, it works. Tnx man.
