  • Hey Dony, have you ever looked at the inside of a Honda 4-stroke trimmer engine? I own one.. but it's never failed yet so haven't gotten to take a peek at one yet..

  • If all that was wrong with it was a stripped plug you should have put a heli-coil in it and had a working motor.

  • Thanx for all the info. I my 4 stroke would not start so with the help of these videos

I rebuilt the carb. It start now on the first pull and run no problem but when I swith

it to run from start mode it just quits any idea... tips can these carbs be adjusted...

  • I have a CubCadet with the same engine. It is nice to know what is inside it :) Man them are some small parts and thats a small piston haha!

  • Thanks for your video it's very informative,

My 4stroke has only had 2 to 3 hours of total use since bought last year.

Just this morning after 10 mins of use it stopped and when I looked there was oil spewing through the carb. Not too much and there's a lot of oil still left in the oil tank so hopefully there won't be piston or rings damage?

    What's your advice please?

  • @GeorgeGreekTrucker if you have warranty take it back, i have had nothing but trouble with those and most mechanics do not work on them anymore, if u can get a refund that would be even better

  • @donyboy73 Thank you very much.

Bought through eBay but from a (hopefully) reputable firm, just wrote to them, see how it goes.

  • that piston looks pretty big compared to my homelite mightylite 26cs, when it quit working and i couldnt get it running to save my life, i tore it down for parts and measured thye piston with my caliper. just over 1.3 inches lol. ive seen valves in small engines bigger than that

  • but wont the oil go all over

  • Since these r 4 stoke can you tip them upside down and theyll still work?

  • @th19940305 supposed to

  • i have a chain saw attachment on my 4 troy 29cc. its a friken weapon! clearing over grown palms off my mountain bike trails ! only had to cut out the chain cover so it wont clog but man it cuts thru any thing even hard cedar tree roots! but sand sure dulls the blade if i go to deep. got a Oregon blade mounted sharpener. works perfect and fast! one thing though . she stumbles at top end i think i have to check my valve and adjust. there are no carb adjustments?

  • @sxr951 i'll answer this question in my next Q & A VID

  • but my ryobi is broke cause the cable was stripped out as well.

  • Just a question what are the main problems with the ryobi 4 cycle trimmer? i heard alot of oil leak problems and carb/running problems.

  • @motorhead45102 they will run good for a while then get harder and harder to start and eventually they will run like crap and u can spend hour after hour fixing it and it will still run like crap

  • @donyboy73 and when you say for a while how long is that? and what exactly goes wrong with them or can you not figure the things out?

also what is your opinion on a poulan pro 33cc? there is one at walmart for the same price as a 30cc ryobi 2 stroke. idk if i should buy a new wacker or have mine fixed, the clutch, and flex cable are wore out pretty bad and the flex cable has a twist in it. i would like to get a straight shaft replacement for it.

  • my oh my is that piston from a lego technics?? :)

  • I am also a small engine Mechanic. I am a two sroke specialist for my shop. The worst design ive ever seen is a four stroke trimmer. piece of shit too many thing can go wrong in a four stroke that is running as much as a two stroke. We dont even service those 4 cycle trimmers. Ill stick to being a certified factory tech for REDMAX and theyre bvrilliant starto charged two cycle engines.

  • @Doye2287 yes i agree they are crap

  • nice presentation! Thanks

  • those are kinda neat 4 staroke engines. But i like 2 strokes for weedeaters way better lol thumbs up !

  • @1972FordF150 yea me too

  • So small, but still so powerful! 5/5 :-D

  • @mstruckerboy

But no way as much power as a same size 2 stroke. not to speak about the weight advantage of a 2 stroke.

  • @marcelh85 Yes, that's true! ;-D
