I'm an Auburn fan and we had the same thing happen against UGA and So. Carolina...I was actually impressed with Bama and Nick Saban, they never did it even once. But hey, it's part of running a high tempo offense. Defenses are going to flop....
But most of the time they are better at it than this guy...
OK Ducks fans, you attacked Cal's ethics over faking an injury, what say you about Oregon paying scouting agencies to steer running backs to UofO. Lame Ducks!
@gfiorindo yeah. we pay recruits. and we'll get away with it too fucker. haha. we can do whatever we want. we got billions of dollars here bitch. money talks. bitches(CAL) walk
i dont like cal, but he probably was trying to hold the pain then couldnt, and just collapsed. this has happened to me before. i tore my acl in the middle of a game and i got up walked a little then just fell
@lpwbeasty This isn't a debate anymore. The Defensive Line coach (Tosh Lupoi) admitted to "coaching" his players to fake injuries, and he was suspended for the final game of the season.
Seriously, if you want to learn to dive then you have to come to Europe and play football. As mentioned before preferably the Italian National squad. They seem to have started it and are very good at it.
It used to be stigmatized. Unfortunately, it's kind of standard practice now. At least you can get a yellow card now.
while this is totally blatant I do think that it's "part of the game" and always has been.....but I think college football is mostly a corrupt waste of time anyway.....
Great music selection for such an athletic farce. It's a well made video and I look forward to more skewering of both the Ducks and their opponents. Looks like "Feelin' Goofy" isn't available on iTunes, so how does the general public acquire this and similarly catchy tunes?
@magnanistan to get the song, go to extrememusic (dot) com and search "XEL003". The entire album is amazing stuff. For production music... NOTHING beats this library.
Lol i love oregon coach's, Chip Kelly, responce when asked about it later in the week. 'I accually take it as a complement, if cal has to fake injuries to slow us down we must be doing something good' ......i dont have exact quote but thats about what he said. Even though oregon had a bad game (really bad game) the hole game felt as if oregon always had upper hand and ball was always bouncing cals way.(until botched field goal ofcourse)
if you're gonna put one team on blast for doin this put em all on blast cuz cal aint the only team doin it. at least tedford had the class to take responsibility and address the issue with what the D-coordinator had done.
@GoBlazers08 First off, Cal got caught because they were the most blatant with this crap. Signals, flopping at the LOS after looking healthy after plays, etc.
And second, Tedford first hung his player (Tipoti) out to dry for two weeks... then when it proved too embarrassing, he throws a position coach (Tosh L.) under the bus?!
I think Tedford knew about this all along... and is just trying to minimize damage. Plus, they only copped to one instance... when FOUR DL's collapsed like this.
@GoBlazers08 yeah tedford didn't show any class in taking responsibility. he didn't say "oh yeah i told them to do that." no he put it on the player and then his line coach. WEAK.
@zoeybadm "shutdown" means you lost the game. Was Oregon given a legitimate challenge? Yes. Were they scary close to losing? Yes. Were they "shutdown"? No. They faced adversity and came out on top. Last time I checked, that doesn't fall in the "shutdown" category.
What happened to Oregon State today (and vs WSU a couple weeks back), is more along the lines of a "shutdown"
The California Golden Bears suspended defensive line coach Tosh Lupoi for Saturday's game against Washington after the coach admitted he instructed a player to fake an injury against Oregon.
Cal athletic director Sandy Barbour made the announcement after the Bears' 16-13 loss to the Huskies. Of greater embarrassment is the admission that the team feigned injuries in an effort to slow down the Ducks in Cal's 15-13 loss two weeks earlier.
For those of you dumb enough to think that this injury WASN'T fake, check out the LA Times article stating otherwise.
Tosh Lupoi, defensive coach for the Bears, admitted to instructing Aaron Tipoti to feign an injury to delay the Ducks blazing-fast offense...what poor sportsmanship.
trash talk among each other aside, I find it funny that teams have to fake injuries to try and stop oregon, yet STILL lose. just goes to show how unstoppable the oregon offense is.
oh yeah, oregon looked great in the second half apparently (i didn't watch) but the outcome was clear. BSU had a tough one on the road and lost. BSU should definately be out of contention for a bcs bowl after the loss. It would be nice to play a top program like alabummer in a bowl but whatever. I'll never concede Oregon #1 until they beat BSU though. Shows how tough the wac can be though. the wac has consistently had at least two teams that can play w/anyone.
3 dog is a fool! lol how can a fan of the most overrated team in football call anyone else overrated? oregon beats its opponents by 33 points/game. boise state beats theirs by 36 points/game, in the WAC! in the pac 10, bsu would have 3 losses by now. in the wac, oregon would beat teams by 50 on average. neither would make it to the championship. dont cry about not making it to the ship when you played toledo and wyoming in non-conference, AND your conference is complete garbage.
It's OREGON, and we're NUMBER ONE. Yes, we squeaked a win vs Cal, they had an off day, Cal's defense is good (qb sucks). What teams play a perfect game EVERY game? I'm so sick of opposing teams "faking" injuries.
An "NCAA football fan" here and like not a Cal or Oregon fan, but a big ten fan. I liked the video, find it hilarious, and believe that cal was faking injuries. I think they are taking advantage of the necessary rule to protect players in a way that goes against the purpose of the rule and flies in the face of what competition is supposed to be about. I think to dissuade this while still protecting injured players is to make injured players sit out for more than just 1 play.
@zoeybadm Really? How about doing some fact checking. You can see for yourself at wunderground that the high temperature in Berkeley on Nov 13th was 67.7 degrees. At 4.30pm, it was about 65, and the temperature varied from 60-65 from there until the game ended around 8pm.
@xavierfreak Wait, so YOU speak for "every other NCAA football fan"? Funny, because nearly 350,000 people have viewed this... and most agree that this "flopping" crap has to get the hell out of football.
Maybe you enjoy the way soccer players roll around on the ground and delay the actual PLAYING of the sport? If so, there's nothing I can say to convince you otherwise.
I simply want to keep the sport of football... as football. Leave soccer to the fakers.
@ruliarch I understand this is a big deal to you, seeing as how your football team has been awful for an amazingly long time- heck, you haven't even won a Rose Bowl since 1917! But your team is winning this year, so why not just celebrate that, and stop pointing fingers at everyone else. You aren't losing anymore, at least not right now, so you don't have to be the guy who cried "unfair" during games anymore. I know that will be a tough transition, but try it out. See what its like.
@xavierfreak First, this was NEVER about Oregon. Teams have done this "faking" all season long to varying degrees. But what Jeff Tedford should offend anyone who's a fan of the sport. His players took orders for the flopping, and then remained on the field for minutes. Truly shameful behavior... and most non-Cal fans can see that.
And second, Oregon's averaged nine wins over the last decade, won a Fiesta Bowl in 2001, and could very well win a NC without winning the Rose Bowl.
@ruliarch I see. Ironically, I agree with you about the rule bending here, or the perceived rule breaking. Though being a gray area, or in this case, an "ethical" problem, it doesn't seem to be something that officials on the field can do much about. Hopefully that changes.
For the record, not a Cal fan, nor an Oregon State fan (Big Ten actually), simply someone who wants to see Boise State make it to the National Title game. If Alabama comes through this weekend, we just might have that.
@xavierfreak If you were so "eloquent" you could actually spell "eloquent" and "enlightened." Spoken like a true Cal fan; not only do your players fake injuries, your fans fake being intelligent!
@ruliarch Also, just because "350,000" people have viewed this doesn't mean they agree with the spew coming out of your mouth, er, keyboard. In fact, if I am reading this right, only 272 people "like" this video. That's only a difference of like 349,728.
So close. You clearly have the masses on your side.
@xavierfreak First off, over 80% of the views on this video have come from embedding it into various articles that were written on the subject - and those viewers don't have the option to "like" it or not.
Second, ever heard of a "sampling"? After all, not everyone is going to take the time to "thumbs up or down" every video they watch. But of the people who took the time, it's overwhelmingly in favor of the video (272 likes to 33 dislikes). That's nearly 90% who agree. Get it yet?
@ruliarch haha Tell me you didn't actually go through and add up all of those statistics just to respond to me.
Since you brought it up, to have an accurate "sample", ie for political polls or in this case, push polls, you need to have over 1,000 responses. You need to go back to Oregon and demand an education, or your money back. Or next time, don't sleep through poli sci 101. Just stick to things you understand, not things you don't, like persuasive argumentation or video editing.
@xavierfreak Don't flatter yourself. YouTube has something called "insight stats" that helps prove idiots wrong with the click of the mouse.
As for your "poll sample" idiocy... what about town elections with less than 1,000 total citizens?! Samples of 1,000 people are done to predict national elections with millions of voters... and I think a 300-person sample is more than adequate for a 350,000 YouTube video. How's that for Poli Sci 101?
@ruliarch haha good one. Way to think that one through. You are the one who brought up polls, not me. I was simply telling you how they work. Have you ever even been to a town with less than 1,000 people? Think through what you said, and you'll see how dumb it is.
Also, this isn't a town with 1,000 people, in this case its 350,000. Nice try.
@xavierfreak Try reading the whole post BEFORE you start typing. As I said before: "I think a 300-person sample is more than adequate for a 350,000 YouTube video."
And considering Gallup uses 1,000 person samples to predict the 120,000,000 votes in the Presidential Election - I think you're the one who's grasping at straws.
BTW... this video only needs one more of your stupid replies to get to 600. Make it a good one.
@ruliarch Your mother must be very proud. 600 replies to a youtube video. Be sure and note that on your resume.
Also, just so we are clear about how ill-educated you are on this subject, Eugene Oregon (heard of it) is in a congressional district that has about 380,000 registered voters. Polling for that district takes more than 300 people. Closer to 1000. So, not just for presidential elections, but also every other one. (I wouldn't tell others that when bragging about this)
@xavierfreak Hmmm... I just Googled "Peter Defazio poll" as he's the congressman from that district. It turns up a poll from just over a month ago (Oct. 15th) conducted by Wilson Research Strategies that surveyed (wait for it) THREE HUNDRED likely voters in the congressional district YOU just referenced.
@ruliarch The reason why more people are polled is because it lessens the margin of error. Your "smoking gun" poll had a margin of error of- wait for it-5.6 points! That is huge in politics. He won by more than 9 points, meaning your poll was almost half wrong! Hard to believe why they don't go by just 300 people.
Rumor is that, though he won, he is putting together a youtube video about how unfair the other guy was during the election. Ironically, polling told him that was a dumb idea.
@xavierfreak Boy, you are FLAILING now! A few posts ago you stated that they didn't poll under 1,000 people. Now, when that's proven wrong you move on to the margin of error?!
The point remains that out of 308 "votes" on this video... It's 275 to 33 that are in favor of it. I guess you'll REALLY have to adjust the "margin of error" to cover that landslide, huh?
@hordy82 Yes, "clearly" he was injured. Which is why FOUR TIMES in this game, Cal's nose tackle went down in the few seconds coinciding with the ball being placed in play.
It's also why the three different players that perpetrated these "injuries" all returned to play just a few minutes later.
Face it, these guys faked their injuries... the Cal coach signaled the shenanigans from the sidelines... and now everyone involved is correctly being publicly humiliated. Viva internet justice!
@ruliarch well don't forget Stanford did this too, hopefully Auburn doesn't crash and burn before season end because I'd hate to see what BSU will do to the ducks and the pac ten.
@bra83den Nevada is the same team that steam rolled CAL, you know the team that the "O" barely survived. Transitive logic does not exactly work in college football though, but as a cal state oregon fan I expect you not to know that. Anyhow I'm a pac X fan and am pulling all the way for Oregon down the stretch now.
@hordy82 College football is crazy. Oregon could get steam rolled by the Beavs next week (don't tell my friends I admitted to that!). Anything could happen any week. They need to put Boise State's kicker on suicide watch for awhile. Poor kid. Go Ducks.
If you and a buddy are playing Xbox NCAA CFB and every time you get your RB,QB, or WR glowing he punches in a cheat code to remove the rings of fire, how many times before you punch him in the face??
@laduran Yeah, but maybe 40 years ago GWB got his weak sense of ethics from a crap coach like Jeff Tedford. College athletics (and the NCAA rule book) state that it should be about building character in young men... not teaching them that lying and cheating is the way to success.
@ruliarch@ruliarch When Tedford was at U of O he was seen as a paragon of virtue, now he moves to California and becomes scum? Oregon fans seem to be laying the foundation to excuse their fall. When the lose the big game, it will be because someone was cheating. Move back to Oregon, Leave California while you are still pure Russle,
Show me a defensive player who is walking upright with no limp at the end of a play and subsequently goes to the ground, and I'll show you a player who fakes injuries.
@redraiderbillion Actually there were FOUR PLAYS (with three different players) that happened almost exactly like this. They were all nose tackles. They all walked back to the line-of-scrimmage after the play. They all fell when the umpire placed the ball in play. They all remained on the ground for minutes while the Cal trainers "treated" the so-called injuries. Leave this flopping to Soccer.
I love how people are defending Cal. What they did was wrong, and they shouldn't have done it. Yeah, bring up Blount, and how we defiantly didn't suspend him for 90% of the season, bring up all our problems. Put things on us, because we are number 1 in the country. I would be disgusted to be a Cal fan right now. We will be remembered for better things than Cheating.
More power to him, and yes injuries can and do come on later. Unless you are actually the one laying down on the field and injured, you can't honestly say he wasn't. Oregon just can't seem to get rid of the whiner that keeps popping up. Maybe you guys should get started before the game even starts so that you don't have to whine later about how poor little ol' Oregon is being taken advantage of during the game. GROW UP!

Stephen F. Austin did the exact same thing (fake cramps) against A&M earlier this year. Check out "Lumberjacks fake injuries- Texas A&M" on Youtube /watch?v=fFojfG31enA
Apparently Cal isn't the only team with no class...
You are all stupid. If you had watched the game you would know he was injured on the previous play. Because he got up and back to his position, Cal would have had to take a timeout to get him off the field. The sideline told him to just go down so it would be an injury timeout and they could get him off the field.
@erics999 Wrong. Not injured on the previous play. Nor were the other players who pulled this stuff during the game. There are FOUR PLAYS (with three different players) that happened just like this. Player walks back to the line-of-scrimmage, and then get "injured" right as the umpire placed the ball on the ground. By the way, they were all nose tackles so they could fall near the ball and stop the game right away. Shameless stuff.
Regardless your team showed lack of offense and your team has to catch the defense off guard on every play, what kinda shit is that. At least USC gave Texas, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ohio State and everyone else an actual legit shot. Seems like Oregon has to suckerpunch on every drive. Don't be mad just because Tedford figured you guys out. Heck, had it not been for that punt return by Oregon right? doesn't matter, I don't see this team beating Auburn or Boise State hahahahaha
@juh2da "your team has to catch the defense off guard on every play, what kinda shit is that."
It's called "football," sonny. The defense has to be ready when the offense is ready to snap the ball. The offense isn't obliged to keep things nice and slow so the defense can keep up.
@dartagnan712 fuck you don't call me sonny. It just seems like a punk move that's all. I mean if I really wanted to beat a team, I'd do it the right way and not be a dick about it like Chip Kelly. Fuck a guy named Chip.
@juh2da No need to resort to obscenities. Complaining about Oregon's offense playing too fast is juvenile. Catching the other team off guard is part of the game. If the defense can't react fast enough or they get winded, that's tough titty.
Or maybe you think Oregon should give all its opponents its playbook at the start of the season and Kelly call the opposing coach during the game and tell him what play is coming next. I mean, if you want to do it "the right way ..."
I love all the Boise trolls commenting on this vid. Keep it up, it only makes us all laugh at you even harder.... have fun playing second fiddle to TCU in the Mountain West while Oregon plays for national championships.
Ur gonna bag on cal for being un sportsman like after Blunt Punched a other player, and the Numerous amount of late hits, and running illegal plays....Yeah Oregons a Class act school.
@duhbersh 1st, Blount was suspended by the head coach for 90% of last season due to the punch. Cal's "head coach" is the guy doing the cheating! Are you getting it yet?
@duhbersh A. That was almost two years ago, B. Blunt was suspended, and C. It has nothing to do with Cal's pathetic performance. Cal's defensive linemen should win Emmys.
@duhbersh 1st what blunt did was wrong that doent make cals actions right 2nd blunt was suspended for 90% of the season 3rd give me one of the examples of these "late hits". finally give me one illegal play we have consistently won. Just because we are actually creative and come up with our own formations unlike you orthodox sec dicks doesn't make the plays illegal
Wow didnt Oregon win the game? if anyone should be pissed off it should be the cal fans mad at there team for sqaundering an oppurtunity to knock off # 1. like the great Tito Ortiz once said: " If ya aint cheatin ya aint tryin" just kidding on the great part by the way
thats funny. i thought texas was pulling this same trick vs nebraska last year in the big 12 champ game and again this year in lincoln. every time nebraska made a play a texas player fell down only to come back the next play. the one time the player was on the field more than five min and was back within two plays. you should have heard the boos in memorial field. though its not officialy cheating it is b.s. this probably goes on a lot more than we think. just not so blatently obvios
@JobDDT if it was just him then id say yes, but this happens to oregon every game 3-4 times!! if you want to see one way more obvious check out "chase thomas fake injury against oregon"
@JobDDT yes he most definitely had a cramp a spontaneous random cramp on his second play of the drive after looking at the sideline. Also this same "random cramp" happens three different times in this game. All the evidence points to a fake
Wow. Such righteous indignation. Such a sense of entitlement. As if Cal had some moral obligation to allow Oregon's gimmicky offense to dictate the tempo of the game. You are shocked that a weakness was uncovered and so you blame the other team for finding it. Oregon fans are rightly anxious that a minnow like Cal held them to 15 points, but to call them unsportsmanlike is just ungracious.
@walkerhy Gimmicky offense? I am so tired of this excuse. Cardiovascular fitness is part of all great sports, the Duck fan base will not allow football to be reduced to a theatrical event like the WWE. (World Wrestling Entertainment).
In addition the penalty for unethical acts by a player or coach under the NCAA bylaws is ineligibility, something future "performers" or "acting coaches" should consider.
@thecomicsitedotcom The "theatrical event" was the last 9:30 of the game when Oregon completely changed from hurry-up to slow-it-up. Eat up the clock and play keep away. A great tactic, and it worked. Sportsmanlike? I'll let old men in comfortable chairs debate that. Gamesmanship? Yes, and effective too.
"Unethical"? Gimme a break. Oregon won, and now they need to figure out how to keep winning now that opponents have figured out a way to neutralize their best weapon.
@walkerhy Oregon fans like watching touchdowns not sit-downs. Oregon's best weapons are cardiovascular endurance and speed, neutralizing those two aspects in a football game with acting skills is like holding a bass tournament in a toilet bowl, it stinks and isn't very much fun to watch in person or on TV. Give it up Cal you lost the game, your integrity, and now the publicity war.
@charger619c We may just get to find that out this year. I like Oregon's chances, Thomas(Current quarterback) has a good track record vs Boise, 3TD's in the only quarter the coach played him and LMJ averaged 10 yards a carry in the 2 touches the coach gave him. I think its safe to say Kelly will play both for 4 quarters this time. Should be a good game.
@walkerhy such unintelligent Cal fans. who has the sense of entitlement now? fact is...Oregon isn't breaking any rules. they used power football to win the game. Cal? needs to cheat to try to win.
hope that moral victory of holding Oregon to 15 points is helping with all this negative pub to your pathetic program.
@eKriZZLe I laugh. Oregon won the game and maintained their #1 ranking, but even that isn't enough. Oregon fans want to feel righteous anger and lecture people about "sportsmanship." Cal was trying to neutralize Oregon's advantage. It's called gamesmanship.
@walkerhy and i laugh at you. Cal fans call it "gamesmanship". everyone else in the nation calls it lack of gamesmanship, poor sportsmanship, and downright cheating.
@eKriZZLe Cal got tremendous positive publicity. Sports writers said "Duck fans have been screaming", and "Whether it was a rhythm-breaking ploy or not, Cal was one of the few teams able to slow the speeding Ducks." And "Cal creates blueprint for slowing Oregon's offense." Eat that, Whiny Ducks.
@walkerhy WHAT? hahahahahahaha. Cal got HORRIBLE publicity for this. you want to see some of the things being said? check the related videos. want some articles? i'll show you some
@eKriZZLe The ONLY people who are unhappy are Oregon fans. No one else - and I mean no one - cares at all. People around the country think Oregon fans are obsessed whiners.
@walkerhy then why is every show on ESPN calling Tedford a cheater and that he has lost all his integrity. i guess it doesn't suck to be a Cal fan if you're oblivious to everything that's going on elsewhere in the world. sorry....San Francisco isn't the whole world. but it is the center for delusional douchebags.
also..Oregon fans aren't whining. we pointed out Cal's BS on Youtube and every sports channel in the nation picked it up and started complaining about Cal. we've seen it all season
@eKriZZLe It's called whining because it has no point and no purpose. Oregon won the game. Is there some kind of Super Sports Integrity Prize to go along with it? No. There's nothing. And yet Oregon fans are still yammering as if there's something else they deserve. There isn't anything else. So all this noise is just whining.
@walkerhy It is called venting, kinda like if a cougar knocked over your garbage can, the next week a fallen tree knocked it over, by the third time the bear came to knock it over and spread trash everywhere, you walk outside with a 45 and blow it away. It may or may not solve the problem but it sure feels good.
@walkerhy no point and no purpose? rules need to be changed..that way Oregon doesn't make your program look like fools again. the only way teams will stop cheating is to make it public. Tedford's humiliation will make coaches think twice about doing it in the future.
let me guess...you're one of the people that thought Barry Bonds didn't take steroids and it wasn't a big deal. then when people kept talking about it, you told them to stop whining because it serves no point and purpose.
@walkerhy well technically by ncaa rules, they did have a moral obligation to not fake injuries to gain an advantage. Well, at least the coaching staff was morally obligated not to instruct a player to fake an injury.
The rules quoted in the video don't provide a specific penalty other than "it shall not be tolerated". The only way to prove it would be to get the coach or player to admit to it (which they have no incentive to do) and then what? There's no penalty. Unfortunately we're going to see more of this.
Im not a college ball fan, in fact I think its a joke. Cant see how any of them can call themselves conference champs when they don't play all the teams in the conference in any one season, but even I can say that, that's just stupid...at least get a better actor...and you're all just upset because us lowly Pac Northwesters are kicking your asses!!!!!

GoBlazers08 1 year ago
@GoBlazers08 First off, Cal got caught because they were the most blatant with this crap. Signals, flopping at the LOS after looking healthy after plays, etc.
And second, Tedford first hung his player (Tipoti) out to dry for two weeks... then when it proved too embarrassing, he throws a position coach (Tosh L.) under the bus?!
I think Tedford knew about this all along... and is just trying to minimize damage. Plus, they only copped to one instance... when FOUR DL's collapsed like this.

@GoBlazers08 It is alright. You can be upset that Cal lost their final three games including a loss to Stanford:)

4zmusic 1 year ago
For those of you dumb enough to think that this injury WASN'T fake, check out the LA Times article stating otherwise.
Tosh Lupoi, defensive coach for the Bears, admitted to instructing Aaron Tipoti to feign an injury to delay the Ducks blazing-fast offense...what poor sportsmanship.

oh yeah, oregon looked great in the second half apparently (i didn't watch) but the outcome was clear.

Leave soccer to the fakers.
ruliarch 1 year ago
@ruliarch I understand this is a big deal to you, seeing as how your football team has been awful for an amazingly long time- heck, you haven't even won a Rose Bowl since 1917! But your team is winning this year, so why not just celebrate that, and stop pointing fingers at everyone else. You aren't losing anymore, at least not right now, so you don't have to be the guy who cried "unfair" during games anymore. I know that will be a tough transition, but try it out. See what its like.
xavierfreak 1 year ago
@xavierfreak First, this was NEVER about Oregon. Teams have done this "faking" all season long to varying degrees. But what Jeff Tedford should offend anyone who's a fan of the sport. His players took orders for the flopping, and then remained on the field for minutes. Truly shameful behavior... and most non-Cal fans can see that.
And second, Oregon's averaged nine wins over the last decade, won a Fiesta Bowl in 2001, and could very well win a NC without winning the Rose Bowl.
ruliarch 1 year ago
@ruliarch I see. Ironically, I agree with you about the rule bending here, or the perceived rule breaking. Though being a gray area, or in this case, an "ethical" problem, it doesn't seem to be something that officials on the field can do much about. Hopefully that changes.
For the record, not a Cal fan, nor an Oregon State fan (Big Ten actually), simply someone who wants to see Boise State make it to the National Title game. If Alabama comes through this weekend, we just might have that.

@ruliarch Also, just because "350,000" people have viewed this doesn't mean they agree with the spew coming out of your mouth, er, keyboard. In fact, if I am reading this right, only 272 people "like" this video. That's only a difference of like 349,728.
So close. You clearly have the masses on your side.
xavierfreak 1 year ago
@xavierfreak First off, over 80% of the views on this video have come from embedding it into various articles that were written on the subject - and those viewers don't have the option to "like" it or not.
Second, ever heard of a "sampling"? After all, not everyone is going to take the time to "thumbs up or down" every video they watch. But of the people who took the time, it's overwhelmingly in favor of the video (272 likes to 33 dislikes). That's nearly 90% who agree. Get it yet?
ruliarch 1 year ago
@ruliarch haha Tell me you didn't actually go through and add up all of those statistics just to respond to me.
Since you brought it up, to have an accurate "sample", ie for political polls or in this case, push polls, you need to have over 1,000 responses. You need to go back to Oregon and demand an education, or your money back. Or next time, don't sleep through poli sci 101. Just stick to things you understand, not things you don't, like persuasive argumentation or video editing.
xavierfreak 1 year ago
@xavierfreak Don't flatter yourself. YouTube has something called "insight stats" that helps prove idiots wrong with the click of the mouse.
As for your "poll sample" idiocy... what about town elections with less than 1,000 total citizens?! Samples of 1,000 people are done to predict national elections with millions of voters... and I think a 300-person sample is more than adequate for a 350,000 YouTube video. How's that for Poli Sci 101?
ruliarch 1 year ago
@ruliarch haha good one. Way to think that one through. You are the one who brought up polls, not me. I was simply telling you how they work. Have you ever even been to a town with less than 1,000 people? Think through what you said, and you'll see how dumb it is.
Also, this isn't a town with 1,000 people, in this case its 350,000. Nice try.
xavierfreak 1 year ago
@xavierfreak Try reading the whole post BEFORE you start typing. As I said before: "I think a 300-person sample is more than adequate for a 350,000 YouTube video."
And considering Gallup uses 1,000 person samples to predict the 120,000,000 votes in the Presidential Election - I think you're the one who's grasping at straws.
BTW... this video only needs one more of your stupid replies to get to 600. Make it a good one.
ruliarch 1 year ago
@ruliarch Your mother must be very proud. 600 replies to a youtube video. Be sure and note that on your resume.
Also, just so we are clear about how ill-educated you are on this subject, Eugene Oregon (heard of it) is in a congressional district that has about 380,000 registered voters. Polling for that district takes more than 300 people. Closer to 1000. So, not just for presidential elections, but also every other one. (I wouldn't tell others that when bragging about this)
xavierfreak 1 year ago
@xavierfreak Hmmm... I just Googled "Peter Defazio poll" as he's the congressman from that district. It turns up a poll from just over a month ago (Oct. 15th) conducted by Wilson Research Strategies that surveyed (wait for it) THREE HUNDRED likely voters in the congressional district YOU just referenced.
How's that crow taste?
ruliarch 1 year ago
@ruliarch The reason why more people are polled is because it lessens the margin of error. Your "smoking gun" poll had a margin of error of- wait for it-5.6 points! That is huge in politics. He won by more than 9 points, meaning your poll was almost half wrong! Hard to believe why they don't go by just 300 people.
Rumor is that, though he won, he is putting together a youtube video about how unfair the other guy was during the election. Ironically, polling told him that was a dumb idea.
xavierfreak 1 year ago
@xavierfreak Boy, you are FLAILING now! A few posts ago you stated that they didn't poll under 1,000 people. Now, when that's proven wrong you move on to the margin of error?!
The point remains that out of 308 "votes" on this video... It's 275 to 33 that are in favor of it. I guess you'll REALLY have to adjust the "margin of error" to cover that landslide, huh?
ruliarch 1 year ago

hordy82 1 year ago
@hordy82 Yes, "clearly" he was injured. Which is why FOUR TIMES in this game, Cal's nose tackle went down in the few seconds coinciding with the ball being placed in play.
It's also why the three different players that perpetrated these "injuries" all returned to play just a few minutes later.
Face it, these guys faked their injuries... the Cal coach signaled the shenanigans from the sidelines... and now everyone involved is correctly being publicly humiliated. Viva internet justice!

You are all stupid. If you had watched the game you would know he was injured on the previous play. Because he got up and back to his position, Cal would have had to take a timeout to get him off the field. The sideline told him to just go down so it would be an injury timeout and they could get him off the field.
erics999 1 year ago
@erics999 Wrong. Not injured on the previous play. Nor were the other players who pulled this stuff during the game. There are FOUR PLAYS (with three different players) that happened just like this. Player walks back to the line-of-scrimmage, and then get "injured" right as the umpire placed the ball on the ground. By the way, they were all nose tackles so they could fall near the ball and stop the game right away. Shameless stuff.
ruliarch 1 year ago
Regardless your team showed lack of offense and your team has to catch the defense off guard on every play, what kinda shit is that. At least USC gave Texas, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ohio State and everyone else an actual legit shot. Seems like Oregon has to suckerpunch on every drive. Don't be mad just because Tedford figured you guys out. Heck, had it not been for that punt return by Oregon right? doesn't matter, I don't see this team beating Auburn or Boise State hahahahaha
juh2da 1 year ago
@juh2da "your team has to catch the defense off guard on every play, what kinda shit is that."
It's called "football," sonny. The defense has to be ready when the offense is ready to snap the ball. The offense isn't obliged to keep things nice and slow so the defense can keep up.
dartagnan712 1 year ago
@dartagnan712 fuck you don't call me sonny. It just seems like a punk move that's all. I mean if I really wanted to beat a team, I'd do it the right way and not be a dick about it like Chip Kelly. Fuck a guy named Chip.
juh2da 1 year ago
@juh2da No need to resort to obscenities. Complaining about Oregon's offense playing too fast is juvenile. Catching the other team off guard is part of the game. If the defense can't react fast enough or they get winded, that's tough titty.
Or maybe you think Oregon should give all its opponents its playbook at the start of the season and Kelly call the opposing coach during the game and tell him what play is coming next. I mean, if you want to do it "the right way ..."

Wow. Such righteous indignation. Such a sense of entitlement. As if Cal had some moral obligation to allow Oregon's gimmicky offense to dictate the tempo of the game. You are shocked that a weakness was uncovered and so you blame the other team for finding it. Oregon fans are rightly anxious that a minnow like Cal held them to 15 points, but to call them unsportsmanlike is just ungracious.
walkerhy 1 year ago
@walkerhy Gimmicky offense? I am so tired of this excuse. Cardiovascular fitness is part of all great sports, the Duck fan base will not allow football to be reduced to a theatrical event like the WWE. (World Wrestling Entertainment).
In addition the penalty for unethical acts by a player or coach under the NCAA bylaws is ineligibility, something future "performers" or "acting coaches" should consider.
thecomicsitedotcom 1 year ago
@thecomicsitedotcom The "theatrical event" was the last 9:30 of the game when Oregon completely changed from hurry-up to slow-it-up. Eat up the clock and play keep away. A great tactic, and it worked. Sportsmanlike? I'll let old men in comfortable chairs debate that. Gamesmanship? Yes, and effective too.
"Unethical"? Gimme a break. Oregon won, and now they need to figure out how to keep winning now that opponents have figured out a way to neutralize their best weapon.
walkerhy 1 year ago

@walkerhy "Cal got tremendous positive publicity." Self delusion can be an early sign of mental illness, you should get that checked out.

@walkerhy hold up a minute. A way to "neutralize" our game maybe.
an unsportsmanlike way to do it definitely
and Oregon's "advantage" is a result of work and conditioning not of cheating

@walkerhy well technically by ncaa rules, they did have a moral obligation to not fake injuries to gain an advantage. Well, at least the coaching staff was morally obligated not to instruct a player to fake an injury.

At Texas A&M we have seen this too all year. Search for "SFA fakes injury" for a funny one
