I wouldn't use the brightness and contrast filter. It's better to use the three way colour corrector. Also under the motion tab, in the crop settings, you can set an edge feather to help with that line harshness.

i have a problem. on mine, when i use the crop tool to drag the blue line across, 2:40 the crop symbol isnt there and wont drag across :S

You can do it with 1 video but the area you cropped out will just be blank so you need to put a track underneath it or resize that track to fill the whole window- I'll make a video about it soon

well if u have final cut and u do everything he said but the cursor wont turn into the cropping tool go to the top of that screen with the blue square outline and click the scroll down thing that is shaped like a square but has gaps and click image+wireframe and then you will b able to move the blue line for cloning effect.....if u dont understand tell me to post a video 4 it
