  • Nice tech. for that given sinario, but the real deal is, in most fights a man is going to throw more than 2 punches right off, so if U don't stop him on the first attack, chances are he will get U with the third punch, and this is because it is a natrual body re flex, the double strike is wasted on the same attacking side. Just test it out by putting on some boxing gloves with any one and tell them to try and hit U. Still good coordination drill

  • I know that Boxing is a great art but it isnt like it wasnt modified from other sports. Dan Inosanto says that boxing came from the phillipines, Kali has boxing called panantukan that has the punches and footwork but it also adds the knee's headbutts, eye jabs, etc etc. The best fighters arent always the biggest and strongest people it doesnt matter how big you are or how strong you are if you get 100 pounds of pressure on your knee it will break or hurt bad

  • @Mider999 lol Boxing did not come from the Phillipines. The history of pugilism and bare knuckle fighting dates back to ancient Rome and Greece. Please. THere are cave drawings dating back thousands of years with men boxing and wrestling. I love Dan Inosanto, but I heard him say some BS things. I do have all his videos, books, and took his seminars. Knees do break, so do elbows, and ears can be ripped off. Great. But it's not easy to pull off. Many traditionalists found that out the hard way

  • @BushidoCode72 I already knew that boxing was featured in rome and greece thanks. They use to were boxing gloves called cestus with metal or spikes in them. As for Dan Inosanto i dont think he says BS maybe you do but i dont. Its not like Inosanto teaches you to do these things iwth out working out man. Nobody said a arm or leg breaks or knee breaks super easy but it would definatly be easier to break with your knee's and elbows then with just your bare knuckles

  • @Mider999 Sir, regardless. Even Inosanto would find this Splashing Hands laughable. All his teachings, going back to Bruce Lee, and writings and videos teach Jeet Kune Do (though Inosanto did incorporate more Kali and Escrima and now incorporates BJJ). He would be the first to say that this is nonsense. Maybe he'll be more pc about it than I am on Youtube. But Bruce, Inosanto, and all followers of anything realistic would find this silly.

  • @BushidoCode72 even Marc Macyoung? Because even he recommends this guy. I think that most people who see an art then mock it need to step back. Because you havent even seen if it works or doesnt have you? Sumo sucks i know it sucks because the way its used today has most of the sumo wrestlers who go into PRIDE or UFC they get defeated by WAYYYYY smaller guys. But these ancientt arts obviously worked at one point.

  • @Mider999 I'm saying these concepts and too much tought behind movements would fail you. I dont think this guy ever blocked a real upper cut. I have sparred with people from all different combat backgrounds (from grapplers, to muay thai guys, to olympic TKD - just kickign nothing real, to mma, to kyokushin ..). I did it to test myself and lucky for me, haven't injured myself too bad. But I know this will not work. Has McNeal ever sparred with a boxer? Ever? Or his students? I'm sure not.

  • @BushidoCode72 Maybe not all boxing came from the phillipines but perhaps a form of it did. And you have to be pretty strong to tear a guys ear off or you have to have the proper leverage but people who do that are usually really big. or they conditioned there hands. Inosanto is pretty conditioned. So are his students Ron Balicki, Erik Paulson and others i dont think anything Dan says is ment to be BS. And iw ouldnt call it BS

  • @Mider999 Look, I also trained from Erik Paulson. He would see this Splashing Hands as silly (being an NHB, MMA, Vale Tudo, Pancration, and Grappler). I don't know which part of boxing came from the Phillipines, because history of pugilsim says other ways. Inosanto should just be proud of Manny Pacquaia instead of claiming Phillippines invented the jab, cross, hook and uppercut. I wonder which part Inosanto was talking about. lol Either way, this video is silly. It WILL NOT work.

  • @BushidoCode72 I misqouted him. He never said that boxing came from the phillipines he said that they had a form of boxing when the americans came and that the americans saw how the phillipinos would have there hands up like they do now. If it works it works if it doesnt it doesnt. Guys into MMA say that this wont work then it ends up working......give it a rest.

  • I suggest you all not talk shit about James McNeil even Marc Macyoung recommends him. Why not check out other videos of him. He is the real deal

  • These techniques would NOT only NOT work, they would get your head blown off by anyone with any serious boxing, kickboxing, san shaou kung fu, or any full contact training. I can see opening a mile away for counters to this teacher's counters.

  • @BushidoCode72 You could say that about any attack and block. But are you quick enough to counter the counter? That's where one's skill comes into play, and the amount of practice one has put in to the defenses and counter-blocks and counter-attacks.

  • @BushidoCode72 I suggest you go say that to McNeils face or to one of his students. Because yeah i hear this bullshit about how such and such cant fight but i never see anyone try to actually show anyone up.

  • @Mider999 people don't challenge people because we are living in civilized times. It is also against the law. But this is BS and would never work. Try stepping into a boxing gym and asking for a peaceful sparring match. I'm sure McNeils and his students would find themselves on the floor if this is what they practice.

  • @BushidoCode72 Civilized times? I dont see nothing much diffrent from a few thousand years ago. You take away peoples food long enough they will probably start acting like nomads. Anyway This guy is recommended by alot of experts in martial arts. As for what you think of him id suggest you go and check him out. I cant comment on the man because some old men even older then this guy can wipe the floor iwth alot younger people. But im not saying he can

  • this dont prove anything.....omg

really? these things in martials arts are stupid...no offense to martial arts.... but yea stupid way to show or prove something

    lemme see it in action!!

  • @1dabest Yeah lets get James McNeil to have a student try to punch his head off.......yeah cause all martial arts instructors try that.

  • The fluidity!!!!!!!!!!

  • I don´t believe that he is able to block the upper cut only by this downward motion

  • you should get together with somebody and try it. it works great and it hurts wich is always a plus. you move quck and smack that arm coming up like that it really does work.

and yes he can do that.

  • @lankfu Yes, I second that! He can do that! And yes, it hurts! LOL You deffo don't want to come in twice! :-) Tee hee! x

  • as one who has been on the receiving end of that block i can say that it works painfully and very well.

  • Yes it works. I showed my buddy how to do it this guy always got him with the upper cut, not any more!

  • You can't block a real upper cut. But all the people on this video can't punch. These are not proper upper cuts. These are not even proper punches. I would suggest all of these people join a boxing gym immediately.

  • @BushidoCode72 you are idiot

  • @dragob732 say what you want, but please don't try this on the street. I have fought long enough and trained long enough to know that this will not work. Anyone who has ever really fought, knows this would not work. Did this instructor ever fight anyone who knows how to fight, professionally? Just go on and practice this. If you have courage, like I did after training in Traditional Martial Arts, step into a real ring. And youll get a lesson in reality.

  • @Bellvista2 Im sure alot of people said the same thing about Bruce Lee like oh he cant do this and cant do that, then ended up getting owned

  • @Bellvista2 He wont block anything. This is a joke. This guy never fought anyone who knows how to throw an uppercut. These people are living in a fantasy land.

  • @Bellvista2 You can block an uppercut like that, that's exactly how I've been taught to block it only we strike differently BUT- I practice Seven Star Praying Mantis Kung Fu and not this style so I'd assume it's a somewhat universal block.

  • you can really see how good he is even though it is just a quick clip of an instruction video for beginners!
