  • Unfortunately, voting is mostly done on emotion (as paul4073 shows so nicely) Just check any clip where people are interviewed about their votes: "he seems like a decent guy", "I don't want some [insert superficial trait here] guy as president".

Of course not everybody does this, but the majority seems to

  • Thanks, Razelz...

    Most interesting and thoughtful.

I disagree about your assessment of why McCain was chosen. In my state, the reason McCain won is that the conservative vote was split between Romney and Hukabee. The conservative vote was almost 2 to 1 larger than the McCain moderate vote.

I hope our new president does well, but I am not encouraged by the cabinet selections in foreign policy areas where Obama could benefit from the advice of some highly quaulified people.

  • this was a good assessment considering the using the term loosely 'unreliable'information, the media shovels out. people could have a better perception through alternative media.

  • Yikes! People are still giving you shit over that? Hey Jamie, are you nearsighted or farsighted?

  • Nearsighted. I use to wear contacts, but then I got cute new glasses and haven't worn my contacts since.

  • I'm also nearsighted. I'm considering getting Lasik though. Contacts are too high maintenance. (Small talk cont.)

  • Razela, you had me at the turn of the year when the election was kicking up dirt. But then you started the Zombie With A Can Of Coke crap. The BEST LOOKING Candidate? Not the Best QUALIFIED???

I would have expected that from Paris Hilton... 'sigh'

  • It's called satire.

  • I thought it was funny... I followed it all the way to the final choice. But that's just me.

  • HOLY GOD.. i stopped listening at 1:28 when she said Obama surrounds himself with good people ROFL no.. just no

  • great analysis...

  • If you're trying to say that Palin hurt the McCain campaign than you are completely wrong. A Rasmussen poll said that 69% of GOP voters thought that Palin HELPED McCain.

This is a disappointing and rather simplistic analysis.

McCain failed to emphasize the fact that the people and the party that Obama is associated with caused the crisis with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He failed to make it clear that Obama is a part of the problem rather than an implement of "change." (Comment 1/2)

  • Now Obama will preside over the economic collapse of this country because big government, Socialism and affirmative action NEVER work.

2012? We'll be lucky if we make it to 2010. The Citigroup bailout doesn't concern you? It should. The party is almost over.

Zwikster's last sentence is completely accurate. The Democrats are complete leftists and ultra-liberals. The Republicans are only slightly less liberal. (Comment 2/2)

  • And that's why conservatives have lost the battle regardless of having a "Republican" President in office for eight years. All of the so-called conservatives have been wolves in sheep's clothing. Anyway, it's good to see you back Jamie. Love ya sexy. Peace! (Comment 2 cont.)

  • Raz this noises came from brainwashing machine?

  • druid, calm down.

  • I agree with you about Kerry. He was so-so at best in my opinion. I also agree with you about the problem in assuming that all Republicans are country-folk who love their guns and are religious. Like you said, this is not true. The same can be said about the support base of the Democratic party. They are not all tree-loving, anti-war hippies. Granted, both sides have their extremists. But yes, you are right, the Republicans need to take a long hard look at what, as you put it, "went wrong."

  • Obama said that he was the voice for change, and look at him now; his economic plan mirrors that of everything that his leftist counterparts have been trying for years. And look who he is picking as his staff... even with former opponent and shit slinger Hilary Clinton as his Secretary of State.

Sorry that you've been so busy, but I am glad to see your back, and I hope to see you before 2012!

  • Welcome back Jamie! I think the election was over before it even started. There's no way the U.S. people were going to vote Repub after 8 years of Bush. McCain made it easier with comments like "Bomb Iran" and things like that. The U.S. is tired of war & their fear of a new war coupled with the housing & economic crisis compelled them to vote Democrat. Plus the black vote was instrumental in helping Obama. The 2012 election most likely will be Obama once again. Just my thoughts from Canada. :)

  • 56,000,000 voted for a republican. Yes, Obama won with a few more million votes, but to say "the American people" wouldn't vote for a republican is over simplifying the results. 95% of blacks voted for Obama, but without a good percentage of the "white vote" he would not be President-elect.

  • brianbozowski- Yes McCain got millions of votes but you have to question those people's wisdom in voting for someone like McCain in the first place. What did he have to offer? The same old tired "fight against terrorsim" crap and how evil Iran and Russia are? People had grown tired of that and they were more worried about how they were going to pay their mortgage than finding the next way to start another war. McCain's ideas were not what the majority of people wanted to hear.

  • Good to see you back and with opinion! Don't be such a stranger...

  • you're BACK!!!!

  • Obama wants 20,000 troops in Afghanistan and he voted FOR the TRILLION dollar Bailout even though the American people are against it. USA is going bankrupt, listen to Peter Schiff and Max Keiser.

Ron Paul was the only decent candidate, if only you brainwashed Americans would turn off Survivor and Dancing With The Stars to wake up. The problem with Ron Paul is he is too polite/old.

Gerald Celente predicts a THIRD party to emerge from the corrupt 2 party system. Dems and Repubs are the same.

  • Ron Paul is a white supremacist.

  • Hahaha, thats a good one. Ron Paul is more black than Obama who is an Uncle Sam.

Ron Paul would legalize Marijuana, prostition and pardon all non violent drug crimes. If he was such a white supremacist wouldnt he want to keep all those blacks and minorities in jail?

Do some reseach, or continue to drink the Yes We Can kool-aid that brainwashed America into thinking Obama is actually going to change something.

Obama only cares about the elite bankers and more war in Afghanistan.

  • National Alliance are opposed to the war-on-drugs as well. I guess they're not white supremacists, either.

  • You cant beat Ron Paul on his merits, so you have to make him out to be a white supremacist.

    How pathetic.

Search "Ron Paul racist" into youtube you and you'll see how far that is from the truth....

    you little cockroach.

  • Ron Paul doesn't have much merits to speak of - unless you consider his opposition to the Civil Rights Act and Votings Rights Act, merits. I guess we should just ignore his newsletters as well. You make me laugh, Paultard.

  • Dr. Paul, I had the pleasure to meet him and speak with him, I'm the son of Mexican migrants. That good man is as far away from being a white supremacists as a man can be.

Razela, good to see you again, I ended up voting for Chuck Baldwin. Americans deserve more choices. Dems and Reps are FAILURES as parties.

Razela note: Obama's "change" is to hire the Clinton staffers who paved the way for George Bush's policies, torture, and monetary policy.

    "Change" COME ON!

  • Xenu hace el amor co mi perro...

  • Well, now that you mention it, I do enjoy banging your mom.

  • Your hair is short.

  • I think McCain's biggest problem was his failure to divorce himself from Bush. He needed to say that the economy started failing when the Democrats took over Congress, and Bush never vetoed a spending bill. McCain needed to whip out that veto pen again and let America know that he, unlike Bush, would have no compunction vetoing spending bills.
