  • easy to have good form when ur lifting 50 pounds or something

  • @slowfuse It's 115lbs and called a warmup set. Check out my other videos for cleans up to 255lbs, snatches to 190, deadlifts to almost 400, and squats over 300. Weighing less than 150. Then come back and post again.

  • @jackfook. There it's much flexibility involved in receiving the bar in the front squat (rack) position. Also I learned TO shrug, and this guy is correct that the arms do not break while putting vertical motion into the bar with a powerful and quick hip extension. Check out crossfit.com for detailed videos! The clean and jerk is the greatest example of power, midline/core stability, agility and focus! It takes much learning to master, and then there is always room for improvement even still

  • perfect form

  • great form

  • I find it difficult to throw the bar up there. On any kind of clean. I see you do it so smoothly. Perhaps I lose power trying to muscle it up there with the biceps and front delts.

You seem to sling it with straight arms by simultaneously driving the bar forward with the hips and shrugging it backward.

Is this description accurate? I need some advice. Thanks.

  • I generate upward momentum on the bar by extending my entire body: straightening out my back, driving my hips, and standing up hard. Don't really shrug. A clean is basically taking the bar from the floor and standing up straight with it. Do it fast enough and you'll generate enough momentum to change direction and jump under the bar. No active pulling with the arms happens at all.

  • Thanks for that. I'm reading more material from various sources so that helps as well.
