  • i love aviation

  • JFK ATC has an Audio Feed available on the Netz. (Center, Approach and Departure...and maybe Ground, I am not sure)

Since I can't post the URL I suggest you Google it.

It's an interesting way to spend a few minutes.

  • ROFL

  • jejej GOod

  • @MultiShooter123 I recommend dialing in 126.400 and 124.075 MHz on your scanner. Those two should work.

  • i luv listening to American ATC...its always entertaining!

  • Nice follow da Conga line !

  • lol, what a red face on that AAL311 plot.

  • Funny as hell! LOL

  • @Spielbergsp they use the same mic for speakers in plane and radio?

  • @ballm0use Yes, in most airliners you would just press a a button that would simply redirect your voice to the PA system from the ATC. It is possible to leave both on for example, which is probably what happened. He switched on the PA but forgot to depress the COM1 button and that's why what he was saying was heard on the ATC freq.

  • does anyone no any air craft frequincies for a uniden barecat scanner for long island NY i cant find any frequincies for aviation or police

  • LOL..... it feels that way sometimes... anyone for a conga line??

  • funny ass hell..takes the stress out of it.. and great for a laugh..

  • this guy gave me a tour of tracon and he is funny

  • XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • hahahahahahahahahahhhhhhhhhhahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahaha LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • Hey, I just heard this the other day on freq. I was talking to Albuquerque approach and a captain come on the freq and gave us all a cabin briefing accidently. It was funny and everyone on freq commented on it. I told him I'd check to ensure my seat belt was tight. ;) Luckily the freq was pretty light since center wasn't handling arrivals, just enroutes.

  • Hey, I listen to my scanner here in ABQ and I fly out of Double Eagle, what airport are you based out of (AEG or ABQ) and what type of aircraft do you fly?

  • I was talking to ABQ center at the time but I was probably over Nevada or Utah. ABQ center covers a very wide section of the SW US. I do fly into ABQ a couple of times per year. I've found ABQ to be a great airport. I avoid AEG because they don't have rental cars on the field and I worry that I may arrive and the car didn't (which seems to happen a lot).

  • haha this is so funny lol. but do this on vatsim and u get kicked! lol. but i love this, thanks 4 posting =)

  • Motion 2nded...vote carried!

  • What is the name of the song?

  • What type of aircraft was the American? Thanks for sharing, it is quite funny!

  • Oh calm down guys...let them have a little fun. He did bust 7110.65 phraseology, but the pilot had a stuck mic. Whoever gives a damn is rediculous...so Cessna 172 man, just fly your little single engine and if you really care that much, don't call up for flight following :D.

  • His phraseology for saying thirteen center at midway is better thatn saying "one three center." I've flown into midway which also has the runway of "three one center" which can sound alike, and some of the pilots were confused as to which approach they were cleared for.

  • ATC can only say "thirteen" if they follow it with "one-three". So typical would be "cleared for the approach runway thirteen, one-three center". I hear this a lot when I'm asked to stop decent at 10,000. 10 is often confused so center will say "ten throusand, one-zero).

  • Normally it's descend and maintain 10, ten thousand, or 10 thousand. Either way what were saying is correct.

  • You need another look at your aim. There is no word "10" in aviation phrase. The correct term is "one zero thousand", however it is common for ATC to tell us "maintain one-zero, ten, thousand" but "10 thousand" is clearly incorrect phrasing.

    -Robert, CFII

  • By 10 I meant One-Zero, just didn't think it out right.

  • That makes sense, I have had different experiences which of course these days are getting worse with a whole lot of new guys coming in. Flying from a non-towered airport for the last 12 months and not flying at all 3 years before seem to have killed my radio skills. I am trying to focus on it now.

Thanks for the most mis-read stat.

  • hahahhahaha yeah i know. wait... hartigan?!?!?!?!

  • Oh really? Well, I'm sure you are the perfect person to second-guess an Air Traffic Controller

  • Have you ever flown anything other than flight sim 2004 C172KID?

  • Yea, I fly in real life out of DPA...

  • u so pwned him =)

  • Well, i don't think your controller should have sang the Jaws song, but this was a harmless, 1-second stress reliever

  • agree, he shouldn't have sang JAWS but this had to have been a harmless event, I heard worse on the radios... way worse!

  • anyone who says this is 'unprofessional' or dangerous is soooo stuck up... loosen up a bit.... if the controller thought it would interfere he wouldn't have dont it...

  • he enjoys his job...that's one way to relieve the stress

  • very true, idk why i wrote the above. I think I had a bad day

  • Occasionally us pilots punched the wrong button and gave a passenger briefing on the ATC frequency rather than on the PA. Only once did a controller (ZLC) go off on me - this subtle, humorous rebuke was far more effective and shaming to us, especially if the other pilots on frequency joined in with a muffled giggle or a click of the mike.

  • In my 28 years of airline flying in and out of Chicago ORD, I never found a more hard working and professional group of controllers. Miss 'ya, guys! (Retired B-767 Captain)

  • Unless you're VFR. C90 has a reputation for not "hearing" VFR requests.

  • Boy, is that the truth. They have been real snots both IFR and VFR in and around Miami. I fly a 172 - brand new, glass cockpit, dual everything except the engine (with copilot/ wife a senior 747 captain) and we get lectures like we're in 5th grade. Cure: "may I have your operating operating initials and sector number, please?" That cools 'em down quite nicely. The tapes are kept for 30 days; when you call, ask to review them with a supervisor if it's a really bad situation.

  • when you call our stupervisors, all they do is give us a little scolding. Its not like they are going to give us any real punishment. But what YOU need to do is ask that stupervisor if you could arraingement to come plug in with a controller working busy traffic for about an hour. Maybe you will have a lot more respect for the incredible job we do dealing with the insanity. Unless you do it you have no idea what we deal with.

  • That's awesome: 5 stars!

  • hilarious!!
