  • 37240 - popular on the 1808 Montrose to Perth in August 1990 - worth a bellow... hellfire trains!!

  • I went the severn valley railway during the heavy snow in December 2010. I t comes to something when preservation railways in this country can keep running when the main line and local trains stop running

  • These Trains are overwieght

  • Actually you're wrong.

  • @albaniaismylife Are you for real? a railway locomotive absolutely NEEDS to be heavy, (in this case, about 120 metric tonnes) or it will not be able to move...it would only spin its wheels.

  • I like the sound of these engines. Even under a load they don't seem to run out of power. Must be over built.

  • I think these originally were designed to be much quieter, as an efficiency measure they removed the silencers. cool!

  • That's 37/9s you're thinking of. The rest of them all sound like this unless there's something wrong.

  • What's the vintage on this locomotive? Not familiar with European trains...

  • Circa 1960 - they have survived so long in fairly large numbers as they have a very low weight restriction so they're versatile and they've always been pretty reliable. That they're just about the best sounding european diesels (Delitcs excepted) is a bonus for us saddos

  • Class 37s are the best locos in the world if you ask me! Ya can have some great hellfire from those locos! gr8 vid

  • The warrior pulls another day...

  • Love the smoke rings :)

  • These locos have a unusual sound!

  • Thats why there called tractors.

  • That is one of the best videos ive seen love it! 5/5

One of the best trains of all time for sure!

  • They all were delivered in green

  • AAAA.200957Z OCT 2008 This is a good video indeed. thank you for posting.......AR.

  • love that livery for some reason

  • are class 37 freight trains? like the bigest 1?

  • no, the 56 was the most powerful out of the old freight locos. Now of course it's the 66.

  • nah the 59 is the most poweful

  • There's just not enough footage like this — a gorgeous Class 37 beast approaching on rails in the snow. Great stuff, ta.

  • Well it wouldn't be approaching on the road... :p

  • LOL! Smart arse. ;)

  • actual movement on british tracks in the snow , now this is something !
