IMHO, that white mass which covered the clouds was simply water splashed by the explosion.. Water don't change the cloud's shape and form. What else could it be?
It looks to me like they have clouds projected onto, or painted on, a transparent screen. These are the clouds in the foreground, Then behind that was a photo. The explosion is between the two. The clouds in the foreground merge with the white explosion for a moment, because they are both white, then reappear after the explosion.

This proves nothing. How far away from the centre of the blast is that cloud? It may be 20 miles or more, and the blast wave would take a lot longer than the length of the video clip to reach it, if it did at all. All you see is the blast passing below the cloud - probably many miles below it.

Considering that the bomb was detonated underwater, and only yielded 23KT, the distructive potential and overall force of the blast would have been hindered considerably, and their would have been little cloud displacement.
You are right, this condensation of air humidity caused by the compression/decompression of the shock wave is called the "Wilson Effect". It is not unique to nuclear blast & can be seen on wingtip vortices, conventional detonations, etc... when the atmospheric conditions are right.

What you forgot to mention, that is a DEAD GIVEAWAY that the OFFICIAL footage is FAKE, is that there is SOUND of the explosion IMMEDIATELY after the explosion. When it's moving straight at you, it's a bit difficult to judge its speed and how far it is away.
The clouds did in fact disappear, what was left was actually a cloud of evaporated water from the blast. If you look at the whole of the video you can see that there is a circle of clouds that form around the blast site. This is NOT a fake video. Go go science class.

This proves nothing. How far away from the centre of the blast is that cloud? It may be 20 miles or more, and the blast wave would take a lot longer than the length of the video clip to reach it, if it did at all. All you see is the blast passing below the cloud - probably many miles below it.
Not only is this rubbish, it is an insult to all the people harmed by nuclear weapons, in Japan, and also 100's of servicemen forced to witness nuclear testing in the 1950's who have suffered ever since.

Listen people. At exactly 15 seconds into the video, check out the cloud in the bottom left hand side and remember what it looks like. Then check out the same cloud at exactly 30 seconds into the video. THE CLOUD DOES NOT CHANGE!! Even after an atomic bomb has just had its shockwave blast through it.

This is an abstract edited for newsreel with "fake" sound added for effects. Depending on winds, clouds do not move much in 28 secs of this clip, filmed at altitude & great distance from moving B29. Oh it moved- that sheet of white-compressed air blasted it about 10-20 miles downrange in case you can't keep track of perspective shifts. Just because some highly compressed air pops through it doesn't mean that condensation in a particular place doesn't stay where it's happy (if shoved dramatically further away). Study your nuclear effect meteorology, son.

That is not "smoke," it's compression from the shockwave and condensation caused by the heating of water near the epicenter. You can clearly see cloud displacement and identify the shockfront of the explosion between 0:54 and 0:56 in the video.
Considering that the bomb was detonated underwater, and only yielded 23KT, the distructive potential and overall force of the blast would have been hindered considerably, and their would have been little cloud displacement.

You are right, this condensation of air humidity caused by the compression/decompression of the shock wave is called the "Wilson Effect". It is not unique to nuclear blast & can be seen on wingtip vortices, conventional detonations, etc... when the atmospheric conditions are right.

Only combustable buildings were destroyed. Modern concrete buidings survived. And as far as Japan surrendering, they had already offered terms of surrender about two years before Hiroshima was bombed.

What you forgot to mention, that is a DEAD GIVEAWAY that the OFFICIAL footage is FAKE, is that there is SOUND of the explosion IMMEDIATELY after the explosion. From the distance that the film was shot, I would say it would take 6 to 7 seconds for sound to travel to the camera, thus there should be a SIGNFICANT DELAY!

If you were a little more observant, you'd notice that the clouds DO thicken as the density/pressure wave passes through them. By the way, the 'smoke' is not smoke, it is a CLOUD caused by the drop in pressure behind the shock/pressure front. The original clouds represent areas of increased humidity. These areas remain after the pressure wave passes. The blast generated cloud is passing through drier air and soon dissipates, while the original clouds do not.

These were two airburst, most of the radioactive material was pulverized in the atmosphere, the small (relatively) radioactive bomb casing/fuel got scattered on the ground & did kill many people residually. Radioactivity does not necessarily kill, depends on dose/exposure/resistance. Same for Chernobyl. Hiro/Nag were NOT carpet bombed but nuked, Hiro did suffer a firestorm after the blast. I carried nukes as a Navy pilot years past - they do exist, believe me!

Never dropped one. The detonation of a nuclear device is an extremely complex mechanism & involves going through numerous safety gates (failsafe).

Another thing which is funny, is the smoke from the "atomic" bomb. It is supposed to have exploded under the water, but there is still a massive amount of smoke. Massive amount of smoke which is already incredible with an air explosion. Just ridiculous.

Moonsshow, I have to say that crockigater & jetstorm747 are correct because when an atomic weapon detonates near water it will heat the water creating a condensation cloud called a "wilson chamber cloud effect". since this test (Shot Baker 1946, 22 KT) was fired 90 feet underwater the shockwave produced by the explosion would not have had an effect on the clouds surrounding it.Also 43,000 men where observing the test at bikini that day they all felt the same shockwave and say the same explosion.

When it's moving straight at you, it's a bit difficult to judge its speed and how far it is away.
The clouds did in fact disappear, what was left was actually a cloud of evaporated water from the blast. If you look at the whole of the video you can see that there is a circle of clouds that form around the blast site. This is NOT a fake video. Go go science class.
