  • @kilox10001 Well if you're around 16 or 17 years old, that's all right, but if you're like 12 or 13 and doing serious weightlifting then it will stunt your growth.

  • @wafflecushioned False. As long as you're lifting weights that you can do, you're fine. If this kid was deadlifting 350 every day and squating 200 every day, that would stunt his growth.

  • @wafflecushioned About the ages and serious lifting? I did. But I can honestly say that 12-13 is a great time to start lifting. Because, if he can bench 95lbs when he's 13, add 3-4 more years of lifting, and he could bench 315. But certain lifts are bad if your spinal cord is not fully developed, such as the deadlift and squat. But, other than the shoulders, the joints are perfectly fine in the bench press. Sorry for any confusion. Cheers.

  • @element509 I try to stress this (weightlifting doesn't stunt growth) but I guess I'd like to see a test performed for a kid lifting heavy weights. I'm sure it wouldn't stunt his growth but without pitch perfect form I'm sure something is destined to happen. But as I said, I don't know.

  • @RandomStevie Well yeah it will be stunted if you dont use perfect form, only for the reason that growth plates could be injured, but other then that, if you do everything to avoid injury as in train at most 3 MAYBE 4 times a week and not overtraining 1 muscle etc. yes it will be fine but if not then that COULD stunt it only by hurting the growth plates

  • @RandomStevie correct the only thing that really affects growth is the genetics that you were given if ur parents and other relatives are tall its a very good chance u would be tall also same goes for the opposite size.
