International human righs organizations across the world, the United Nations, and most of the countries in the rest of the world know that beating human beings is torture There are only a few countries that allow this sanctioned brutality and Malaysia is ONE of them. The purpose of having such laws is as to remind anybody to not doing any crime in our country.. Why must be afraid with such kind of laws if u do nothing? It purposely to penalize the criminal, with the evidence and investigation, not just simply 'torture' like what you've said..

By the governments own admission over 40,000 male migrant workers, including illegals since 2002 have been whipped. This is outrageous, cruel, and inhumane! In 2007 the Bar council in Malaysia, representing 8,000 lawyers, called for this archaic practice to be abolished - but it continues on and on.

We're Malaysians are civilized people, we do things based on thought and facts.. By the way, why must banned the tourism? @azharkent Indicating that other countries may also have human rights abuses does not justify what Malaysia does. The issue is not about being afraid of laws, it is about not accepting practices that are cruel, inhumane and degrading. People of Malaysia can change and challenge laws. They do not have to be complacant in accepting punishments that inflict violence. It is sad but travelers to this country should be made aware of Malaysia's dark image

That is the barbarism in the Beatings of illegals and males - even for trivial and non violent crimes. These are disgusting human rights abuses. The UN world body is just all civilized nations have, and I don't agree the UN should be in America. I do know it is not effective with countries like Malaysia and Singapore that legalize abuse.
