  • hahaha. Australia will be dominated by chinese immigrants soon... poor australians. Doesn't matter to me, though :)

  • In Cronulla, caucasians bogarted to Lebanese.

Offcourse, some Lebanese were not good men.

It is very natural that some bad men in all ethnic group.

But the violence by the caucasians was given to other Lebanese also.

They, the mobs of Sydney citizens, said, "The beach is only ours, the beach is only white people's".

It is a shame. But, more shame thing is that there are some people makes a defence about this riot without sorrying like Swfty01.

  • It tells us that the average of Australians are so rasist.

  • yes because its that simple... you obviously don't understand

  • There were about seven generations of French settler in Algeria at the time of Algerian independence year.

about 200 years passed by since they emigrated from France.

But now there are few French overs.

France redeemed the debt of imperialism.

    Britain never does yet.

Australins can't escape from the sin of imperialism, even if the name is changed.

They speak language of England, their soverein is Queen of United Kingdom, their PM are all caucasians.

  • Reconciliation was meant to pull both sides together to move forward. Both sides want to live as one. So why the hell are you so intent on being a hatemonger and displaying your beliefs as the only truth. And lastly most Australians these days I believe want independence eventually.

  • If you want to be reconciled with Koori, you must give them determining which you can be there or not.

You now seal from them coal, ironstone and all of Australia.

You are never friends of Asian-Pacific.

The Japanese rarely is angry. Ones who directry blame, like me, are very few.

When they are angry, they never roar. They just ditch. And the conculusion doesn't overturn.

Already, most of the Japanese become an enemy of yours.

  • Comment removed

  • Wrong again.I have no complaint with Japan or its people. I also think your ego is out of control to think you speak for all of Japan. For a country of people who are enemies of Australia it doesnt seem to stop your fellow country men from holidaying here and why do they do that? Because we have a beautiful country with friendly people. Oh and we are not friends of Asia-pacific arent we? So why did we help so many people after the last major tsunami?

  • I am not representative of all Japanese. Did I said so? I must be examined by you?

    You are a psychodoctor?

    Holiday is holiday. That's all.

But unti-Australia emotion is certainly being gotten.

We think that, when we see the beautiful coutntry, why is it owned by caucasians?

We know why did you help the people.

It was for using as a material to make your "validity", like you are doing now.

Swifty, self portrait is too beautiful, to all people.

But I don't care what image do you have of yourselves

  • because your opinions aren't completely important .

It is important that what will we do on this century.

We are Asians. You are not.

  • Look heres an idea. If Australia is the land of sinners then please come and get the thousands of Japanese that have migrated here. Cant have the pure, and righteous people of Japan being corrupted.

  • Do you understand what you write?

You say that, few people of japanese's action determines if australian are sinners or not.

If there is sin, it exists whether we do somethings or don't.

  • No Im no psychodoctor (whatever that is). Please if your going to inform an Australian how there country is its best you learn how to properly speak their language You have stated on numerous occasions that we (either Japan or Asian countries) ask "We think that, when we see the beautiful coutntry, why is it owned by caucasians? . You should say "I think" as your the only person of your nationality Ive ever met that babbles on with so much rubbish. You contradict everything you say.

  • Usual people know I am not a PM of Japan.

I don't know what you think.

I think you can't know what we think.

How many Australian can understand Asian language?

Without knowing them, why can you understand what we think.

    Do you understand Japanese?

If you can, I will write in Japanese.

and I will introduce many books and sites about Australia written in Japanese to you.

  • Australian caucasian can return to Europe, if they want. Like French people in Aligeria.

Problem is whether you do or don't.

Usually, if a thief repents of his past misdeeds, he will return his wealth created by stealing to original owner.

We watch your actions, not your chatting.

If you want to be called sinners, you should stop stealing.

You want to escape from being blamed with your wealth created by stealing.

Both of two wants can't stand together.

If you don't want to be blamed,

  • you must lose your wealth and land.

If you want to continue having them, you must accept to be called sinners.

  • What the Chinese occupy the land is better than the land is belonging to white people.

White people don't have any right to blame these floods.

Because caucasians are no more than invaders.

China should send their 100,000,000 people to Australia.

If China do that, I will stand by China as an Asian.

  • you really are a few cans short of a slab . You said ALL caucasians are invaders. Hmmmm I dont recall invading any country. I must have been sleep walking. Then in the next sentence you suggest 100000000 chinese should invade Australia. I guess at least you'd have someone with a bit more size to pick on seeing Tibet is a bit on the small side of things

  • If every nation invades, you can't blame Chinese invasion. It is just an activity of human.

If British Empire didn't invade, you would not be there. This is an unquestionable fact.

But we can't change past history.

China or Indonesia will be able to send more 100,000,000 people there, if they want really.

This is one of futures which we can get.

    Australia isn't European's.

We, the Asian, will be united for one purpose on next 100 years.

  • You are too arrogant to notice the fact which you are invaders.

If Hittler succeeded to invade to eastern Europe, and they were German's, "German government" would apologize about their "past" without relinquishing the coclusions of invasion.

It is the same with Australian doing.

  • No I didnt invade Australia. It happened over 200 years ago. The people who "invaded" Australia in 1770 were British, not Australian. But our PM said sorry as a sign that the government recognises that the Kooris are the true owners of the land and apologised about the way the Koori's have been treated

  • I don't think the Australian accommodates to leave away the land they invaded.

And I don't think they stop stealing waelthes from the land which is not theirs.

I don't think they notice their sin.

They are the children who shouln't be born.

    We can't change past.

We'll do the same things they did.

After we get coculisions, our PM will say to them some apologizings.

  • Of course not. Do you suggest all people not of Koori decent leave their home and move to another country? My best friend of 22 years is Koori as was my first real childhood friend and Im sure neither want me to leave . You tell me any time I or any white Australian were asked to leave please. Before you go posting about a country and its individual views, best you do a bit more than watch news reports and youtube clips.

  • Your saying is very centimental. Are you a girl?

My mother was born in Manchuria, and she was there till she's 4 years old.

Her father, my grand father, was a manager of railway.

Her family had a large house and farms there. They lost all by that war. She had some friends, Chinese, Russian and Jew.

After the war, they couldn't meet again.

Things like that were in all parts of the world.

People paid by themselves the debt of nation.

I can't think only Australians can escape.

  • 大家注意!

    这可能是西方人做的

    用来分开`亚洲`!

  • BEIJING, Sept. 29 -- China's tainted-milk scandal, which has led to bans or recalls in 16 countries and raised fresh concerns about the made-in-China label, spread Monday to big-name Western brands as British candy-maker Cadbury announced a recall of its Chinese-made chocolate.

  • 西藏自由。

    台湾万岁。

    中国需要一个多党政治制度。

  • Bluebird:your logic doesn't make sense and has typical racial rhetoric. 1st, for Chinese students, it's the Australia that goes to China to recruit students because it wants Chinese money.2nd, all Chinese are protesting racism that has been on display in a few white nations.3rd, Chinese have every right to choose wherever thay want to live.I also want to ask you a question:"If some westerners care about"free Tibet",why don't they move toIndia tojoin DL instead of living in those westnations?

  • never mind those people, no one can stop china rising, people get jealous and scared. you think they care about tibet? no, they just want china to go downhill. label china as evil and kill it.

  • Forget about independence or whatever autonomy of tibet. Whites of Zimbabwe have more chance to be kicked out. How can blacks perpetually accept that 90% of the land are owned by 1% white popultion.

  • 4. In Tibetan schools, students can learn Tibetan, Chinese and English.

    5. Tibetans are free to pray in temples and practice their spiritual believes

    6. Tibetan monks now can have access to health facilities at 10 Yuan per year, which did not happen before under Dalai Lama

    7. Tibetans can make a living out of the Tourism industry fueled by the Han.

If poeple only section out a small number of Tibetans who has been mistreated and say they represent the whole Tibetan population, you're WRONG

  • 5. You say Tibetans are free to pray in their temples and practice their spiritual beliefs. Did burning their Monasteries encourage freedom for them to pray?

    7. If we had a free press we would all get the Tibetans response and opinion. Show us/let us in if there is noting to hide! I don't believe that we're getting a minority opinion. Prove it! Han Chinese control the wealth of tibet, which is benefit Han's community outside Tibet. Dharamsala is a tourist place because of the Dalai Lama.

  • Sure, the Hans is a major ethnicity in China, but in fact the minor ethnicities were the ones who got better treatment and consideration.

    1. Tibetans can have several children, while Hans must comply with the One Child Policy

    2. During and after the Cultural Revolution in China, resources were lacking, but extra food and material supplies were given to Tibetans.

    3. Tibetan youth who wishes to study college or university were given extra special consideration marks

  • Next you'll be saying built the railway system from Beijing to Lhasa for their development. You expect to believe that you did all this from the kindness of your heart. Is it right you're planning to extend the Railway system into Nepal in the next 5 yrs?

  • In 1951, just before the CCP freed Tibet from Dalai Lama's feudalist system, the whole Tibetan population was 1.275 million with average life expectancy of 35.5 years, mortality rate of 28% and infant mortatlity rate of 430%. Why? Tibetans were slaves back then! Now? In 2003, total Tibetan pop: 2.7 million, life expectancy rose above 60 years; mortality rate fell to 6.3%, new birth rate 17.4%. Tibetans were allowed to have several children, when Hans were under One Child Policy.

  • no anyone govenment is prefect in the world .freedom and democary in usa or EU coutry ,but they only take care about theirselves .who take care about iraq people ,who really critical usa genocide in iraq .why internation society no to critical usa .why are you blind in iraq .most of pretests just see their compatriots dead in war .who care how many innocent people die in war .iraq people urgent hope them ralivate and friends live.why are them die ,just because they coutry have rich oil .

  • Don't feel like your the only ones who are singled on your moral issues. When Pres. Bush came the U.K. he faced protesets regarding the Iraqi invasion. Is that your defence to bring up dirt on others rather then face up to the issues head on!

  • I'm not saying that the CCP is a flawless gov. It does have many internal problems. But they did help Tibet to abolish the feudal system under Dalai Lama's control. Tibet is one of the few places on earth which remains at the theocracy stage. Tibetans were threatened to be punished and sent to hell if they didn't comply with Dalai Lama. Human skuls, eye balls, arms & skin were taken from slaves to be used as 'holy' objects for religous ceremonies. Thanks to the Chinese gov, it doesn't happen now

  • Thanks the Chinese they have been stripped of their language, culture, identity. Women are sterilized. People are raped, abused, vanished and killed....."Out of the frying pan and into the fire," springs to mind! How many businesses. That's why they are still escaping to Nepal and India. Now the escapees arrive who arrive in Nepal have to register and move on to India. Because Nepal(Maoist govt.) and China are in cahoots.

  • Human rights activists say that the CCP baned all types of protests and people don't have a say. Consider managing a country with 13 billion people, if everyone joins some type of protest, the country will be out of control! Protests that are out of control will become riots and therefore violence. A country full of violence cannot be named peaceful. How to maintain social order? The gov needs to implement some type of management system right? There are always ppl who takes advantage of riots

  • What i mean by Europeans is France and Germany in particular. The French, Germans and Americans called China the invader, but look at themselves! French has so many colonies around the world, they didn't invade any of them? Hitler from Germany started the world wars, they were not invaders? America now takes control over Iraqi and has troops in some other middle east countries, isn't that a type of invasion? Why weren't these issues raised?

  • China started to be named the 'awakening dragon' since the 1980s, when its economic growth has began to thrive. That's when many European countries and America start to see China as competition. They don't want China to be so strong and powerful, therefore they must think of ways to surpress China's power to allow themselves to stay 'leaders of the world'. Why can't you see decent reports on the Tibetan issue? Coz the reports, documentaries are funded by racist Europeans and Americans.

  • "now Roger we understand that ooorsralian ooorthorities..."

  • I think most of those students were Chinese and not actually Chinese-Australian. I don't see many Australian flags there at all.

  • so? do they have to carry a Australian flag to prove that they are Australian as well? That's stupid.

  • well, do you really think most of those people were chinese-australian? do you think they are actually equally as proud of being australian as they are of being chinese? i think, and this is only my speculation, that those people rallying aren't really that proud of being australian for the fact that they so easily bring out the chinese flag and rarely did any of them bring out the australian one. you can call it stupid, but i'm only making a calculated guess.

  • damn! where did my reply go?!

Ok, let me rephrase myself, (perhaps I've been confusing you) these people are mostly people from Australia. Chinese Australian, Chinese Permanent Resident in Australia, Chinese student in Australia etc. Some of those people bussed hours, fly in from the other end of the continent. They were so passionate about Beijing Olympic. It's a great insult to debase them as shipped in by Chinese government.

  • There were up to 20, 000 people on that day. If you insist that the Chinese government shipped them in, I've got to say that Chinese government must been the richest government on earth! And I'd guess the plane from China to Australia got to be REALLY packed! In case you don't know, there are about 669,896 Chinese Australian by 2006 census. 20,000 is like 3% of that number. Why can't there be that many Chinese people from Australia?

  • Yes, they may have travelled far and wide to get there, but I felt quite uncomfortable seeing the images on TV a sea of red (Chinese flags). My point in posting was that they really do not seem to be Chinese-Australian. Where is the Australian in the 'Chinese-Australian' here? I think it alienates Australians to see this. It's also ironic that ethnic minorities in China are highly unlikely to be able to do what these people are doing.

  • So what do you suggest? They must be whitewashed, abandon their ethical background to be embraced as Australian? That's really narrow. I'm glad I live in Canadian then. Where I can keep my culture, background and be a Canadian and love Canada same time with China.

  • btw, I want to point out as well, that in this event they are trying to support China, so what's the problem with them showing more attention to China?

  • Firstly, waving the Australian flag is not being whitewashed. Secondly, the fact that no Australian flags were used alienates Australians. Are these people Chinese or Chinese-Australian? Seeing a sea of red easily identifies them as Chinese and not Chinese-Australian. So, I simply suggest that, if they were Australian citizens, they also show their pride for Australia by actually using the Austrailan flag as they have done here with China's. These people look very foreign with all that red.

  • -_-# Why doesn't it post my comment?!!!

Look, what I want to say is that this is a event to support China, and of course they will be more likely to wave Chinese flags. If there's a event to support Australia, don't you think they will use Australian flags? I think it's silly to judge if someone's Australian or not by looking if they hold a Australian flag or not. Don't you think that shouldn't be the sole criteria to see if someone love their country?

  • I know you're Canadian, but imagine if you were a Chinese citizen, and there were many Britons waving the British flag and speaking so passionately about Britain. Wouldn't you feel alienated by that, if they were regarded as Chinese citizens? Wouldn't you question their Chinese-ness if they were to do that? This is why I speculated what I did in the first post.

  • Good point! If the Chinese media have made some unfair criticisms about Australia, I wonder if Australian civilians will be allowed to protest in China.

  • Thank you, ttiiyy. I highly doubt any protest that shows the Chinese government in a bad light would be allowed in China. That is one of the biggest differences between Australia and China, and the reason why I am proud and lucky to be Australian.

  • you are correct bluebird, these 'immigrants' oh i mean invaders, are not Australian, they are Chinese, any fool can see that. I cannot believe what the government has done to my country and yours, all I can say is that when the shit hits the fan, I will be decapitating thousands of these invaders with great pleasure.

  • psychoMothers, "decapitating" is way too violent. I simply voiced my dislike for this nationalistic display for another country in Australia, when they are supposedly meant to be Australian. Australians are of different ethnic backgrounds, and I am totally fine with that.

  • 10,000 "chinese nationals" WTF? at least half of the 20,000 people there were Australian 1st, 2nd, generation born chinese with AUSTRALIAN nationality./Australian passports.I get british media didnt bother asking any one of the "chinese faces" where they were actually from, instead relying on racist stereotypes that all asians are the same. Thankyou motherfckuers, for showing the freedom accuracy and independence of the western press to the world.

  • Those who support China, they are not people who believe the democracy.Chinese students in AU, what they know is only to believe whatever their CCTV news said, in fact your CCTV is telling a lie. Communist country never have media freedom. Your Communist China all medias must say what your Communist government wants to say.If you believe in Communism go back to where you come from. Go back to China, don't live in Democratic country such as Australia.China must STOP KILLING INNOCENT PEOPLE.

  • To freedomoway: you've got no right to tell the Chinese to return to China, because we're all here legally and it is our freedom to stay anywhere we wanted to. If you don't like it, then go somewhere else. But we're for sure that we won't be leaving.

  • To freedomoway: What you've said is so racist, Australia is a multinational country and freedom on this land allows the people to believe in whatever they wanted to. But that doesn't mean they're not part of the country. True democracy will accept individual differences. I DON'T THINK YOU UNDERSTAND DEMOCRACY THAT MUCH.

  • You don't even know what democracy means do you? Dumbass.

  • You know, if you actually go to China, you'll find people treat you well, and with respect, they probably ask you about some fun things going on in your country instead of if there is a part of your country go independent. Besids, most media from China barely talks about bad or awful things in the west, which most Chinese did not know about how the west really looks like, they just assume Europe countries are friendly to them, and economicly supported.

  • Chinese people are too nice to the westerners, but the western media always report negative issues and scenes from China, they always criticise China. I think they're just afraid that China will overpower them in the near future.

  • That's not true. The only part that was true in that comment was the overpowering. China is becoming extremely powerful.

  • why so many kid turn up simply because incidents stirred up in paries and london.. those kid (maybe there is elders too) started to rush there to help after a plea of help from internet BBS to prevent such kind of faked or said paid 'free to bed and' scam. do not forget those kid paid 20k/year to study here, it cost them got go there, I got a girl working for me, went with his boyfriend... not like these chanting 'free japan' instead. sea of red flag express themselves well but strain upon..sad1

  • Folks, wake up. If you guys like to talk about democracy in the civilized world, why can't you review how US Govt killed and discriminiated the US Black. How about Australian Govt killed and discriminated the Aboriginal people. UK killed the Black, too.

Please take care of your own turf before complaining on other countries. Do you serve and have the rights to question Chinese Internal Policy.

  • Yes all our countries have good and bad qualities. At the moment we are not parading this as our coming out party. Preaching peace, harmony and brotherhood to the free world when they can't practice it with the Tibetans. I may not be qualified as you might be, but I just don't think it is morally right to kidnap a 6 six year old boy. Chinese authorities kidnapped Panchen Lama and the Chinese Govt. register/approve all

    re-incarnations of relig.teachers and Lamas

Is it true? Is still alive?

  • CCP organizes all the protest to pro-China on Australia, London, SF, France, Canada ..... But forbid any foreigners protest in China; even Chinese protest Chinese. Their Chinese journalist, diplomats can go any where around the world; But the international journalists, diplomats, cannot come to China, specifically Tibet China contempts the International law and scorns on Human Rights China will pay the price soon and will face the anti-Chinese around the world
  • the true masterminds of the whole thing are the wealthy elite, not the chinese government. If you haven't already noticed most of the expliotation come from corperate entities that slip through china's once communist government. If anything, true, effective socialism would have the least amount of exploitation.

  • to white "pro tibet" protestors: dont just protest becos u think its cool becos u know shit all ^^

  • I might not know much. Tell me which country holds the world record for the youngest prisoner in the world? Did you know Chinese officials kidnapped a 6 six yr old boy, the Panchen Lama. The Chinese Govt. passed a law for all re-incarnations of religious teachers & Lamas must be approved/registered. Is it true that they can kidnap or god forbid kill children to control them in the present and after life? Tell me if I am lying? You seem to know it all!

  • Okay will you stop trying to insult and bring down China? Sure, communism isn't great, and China has its blatant and subtle problems, but there's no denying the fact that the U.S. has many problems too. Don't emphasize China just because it's communist. Capitolism isn't exactly the perfect thing in the world.

  • I didn't try to insult China, I was raising awareness to the issues stating what I believe to be facts. I have asked several people regarding the Panchan Lama but only one person has replied. Thank you Pumpkin. You are right. The capitalist system has it's faults I agree but basic human rights exist which protects all it's citizens. The right to life, right a fair trial etc. I wouldn't blame the system. I blame the shameless people that are running it. Abuse of power enabled PCR to kidnap the boy

  • 'I blame the shameless people that are running it'. Sure there are shameless politicians in every country, not only in China. Although oppression may seem cruel and brutal, but you must also take a look at WHO is being oppressed? Innocent, normal Tibetans? Or extremists? Separatists? Who are trying to disturb the peace in Tibet? If the torture done by the CCP on Tibetan monksis wrong, then why don't you also blame America for torturing prisoners too???

  • Be careful labelling/demonising as well. Those are tools of the Govt. Answer me this. Has the Tibetan population in China increased since China's occupation. What's the population of Tibetans in Nepal and India? Why are people half killing themselves getting out of Tibet(Risking life and limb), or Chinese nationals in freight containers? What is China doing that makes people that desparate? Is it right for people to be ejected out of their houses to build a stadium? Who's benefitting from this?

  • To jonnyfreedomwriter: where's the evidence that people half killing themselves getting out of Tibet? When was that? During Dalai Lama's feudalist regime? In the past decade, have you seen Chinese nationals in freight containers? You must be still referring to the Cultural Revolution days when resources in China, nation-wide was lacking. How did the CCP treat Tibetans then? They gave them extra food and resources but not to the Hans. Tibetans were even more well treated than the Hans.

  • Yes! 19/06/2001- U.K. 60 immigrants trapped inside an freight container.58 Chinese Immigrants died. (Daily TELEGRAPH0Not only in the U.K. all around the world.-I'm making this up! Put ur red book down and see for yourself. That may be a long time ago to you but it's not during the Cultural revolution. Where did you get your information from? Xinhua?

  • You expect me to believe that Han Chinese gave resources and food to Tibetans instead of Their own. Do the Tibetans own their own Businesses? How long have the Han Chinese people been living in Tibet. You sure their settlement wasn't established after the Train service. From Beijing to Lhasa.

  • they're not all white. many are tibet people! why you lie?

  • To jonnyfreedomwriter: In both events, the supporters are just showing their support to their country, i don't see much of a difference. As you said, Australia is a country that embrace freedom and freedom of speech. Then what's wrong with holding a Chinese flag and saying something they want?

  • I think you may have got me mixed up with someone else. I never said their was anything wrong with holding the flag. I quoted Micheal6Liu's response to you. Are you not 'free' to confirm the kidnapping of a 6 yrs old boy. 1995 was the date of the event. Should China gone in history for incarcerating the worlds youngest prisoner?

  • Burmese have been hold back by CHINA to take real practical action to save the violence in Burma. Means UN could save burmese people lives and peace ending But CHINA destroyed for twice for their profits out of Burmese's lives.

    AGAINST CHINA --

Urge to take away their precious OLYMPIC GAMES 2008. Because of their irresponsible of what their close ally Military doing towards US, Ordinary People and Monks....Free Burma from Money Evil wrapper Chinese Government..

  • It's well known that the chinese students are hired by the chinese embassy to attend the relay at cranberra. They are also hired to invade media. Chinese are false players, like always.

  • To arafei1964: the pro-Tibetans were the ones who hired Tibetans and westerners to attend the relay in Canberra. The Chinese students had to PAY FOR THEMSELVES to go to Canberra. You wouldn't know coz you didn't pay, instead you GOT PAID.

  • not true - china embassy paid us bus and food. also give us flags and t-shirts. why you lie?

  • there was an incentive but travelling half way across the country is still largely a thing of will. These people wanted to be there because they believed in something.

  • Even as we write, it is clear that China's rulers are trying to reassure the world that peace, quiet, and "harmony" have again prevailed in Tibet. We all know this kind of peace from what has happened in the past in Myanmar, Cuba, Belarus and a few other countries -- it is called the peace of the graveyard.

From an article by Vaclav Havel, worth googling.

  • ya.rite. if australians know what the human rites about, just free the aboriginal.dumb ass dont make any comment before findin out the truth!

  • They are so much Chinese in AUSTRALIA. Why? Their sweet land don't miss to them ? They can return.

  • hey,my dear frenchy, have u ever been to china? there are masive frenchy and brits in china, shall they go back to europe? have u ever see" pekin express" on TV? i saw the chinese are very friendly with u frogs, why did u say that?

  • Why are there so much Anglo-Australians in Australia? They should return the land to Aboriginals! GO BACK TO YOUR EUROPE!

  • A lot of Chinese demonstrators were encouraged by the Chinese government to attend this function. Transporting them from Sydney, providing Flags etc. Just to show that they are getting a warm reception during their tour. What a farce! Who are you trying to fool? There were hardly any local people in the crowd. Maybe they drowned in the "red sea". Journey of Harmony. It should be renamed the Journey of Hyprocrisy! It is embarrassing and pitiful. This torch has been hi-jacked by sponsers-shame

  • TO jonnyfreedomwrite: That is BULLSHIT! The Chinese had to PAY themselves to go to Canberra! We got the money out from OUR pockets! We did't get any transportation from the Chinese government. What is wrong with the 'red sea'? Didn't you see the 'blue sea' on ANZAC day? The Olympic Torch was suppose to be a Journey of Harmoney until the pro-Tibetans messed up things. They ARE the ones to be blamed!

  • Micheal6Liu said"Thousands of flags and funds raised in other torch relay locations were sent to Australia to provide solid support." This torch is a fund raiser? Where is the harmony, the brotherhood.

  • The Olympic games were awarded to China on conditions of it's Human Rights etc. China tarnished the torch be not addressing it's issues! That is when it lost it's spirit. Every one else seizes the opportunity because you can't protest in China without consequence. Without a free press you'll only get the perspective of "Xinhua news". Life is not so free under "Redskyz". Increase the Peace.

  • TO jonnyfreedomwriter: if you were to manage a country with 13 billion people, you can't just let them do what ever they want. e.g. in America, you're FREE to possess a GUN, see how many killings are there?????? America is a country that embrace human rights, then they killed so many Iraqi, where's the human rights of the Iraqi?????? At least under the 'Redsky', people are managed well. The number of Chinese supporters shows how much we love our country, doesn't that prove something???????

  • I think China holds the world record for executions in their own country on their own citizens. It's easy for you to quote America because there is relative transparency. In addition is responsible for selling arms causing 20,000 deaths in Darfur. You 'Manage people' with fear! Not love. A Chinese student at Duke Univ. U.S.A. was vilified, her parents, in China had their house searched and lost their jobs! Just because she showed support for Tibet. China acts like an abusive, controlling partner

  • while the cultural revolution was a bad thing, the alternative would have resulted in the dissolution of china. You think the region could have survived either western or soviet influences during the cold war had it not for a headstrong government? Without mao, china may have become a battleground for WW3.

  • You bring up interesting points, AlternateArtisan. I'm not sure which comment was in reply to mine since Youtube doesn't show it at the moment, but what got to me was that they were called Australians or Chinese-Australians when they were so Pro-China. My thoughts on that are if they were so passionate about China, why are they not living in China.

In regards to what you said about splittism, why good reason is there for China to keep Tibet now? I'd like to read your thoughts on this. Thanks.

  • How are you going to justify kidnapping a 6 year old boy. "The peoples management act" The Panchen Lama was taken by the Chinese officials in 1995. His birthday was 2 days ago. The Chinese govt. had passed laws for all Re-incarnations of religious teachers/Lamas must be approved by the Chinese Govt. Under "Redskyz" you can kidnap and maybe, god forbid kill a kid. Not only you control Tibetan in this life but you want to control them in the next. You have got to admit this is wrong?

  • "Didn't you see the 'blue sea' on ANZAC day?"

Fuck, this is Australia, ANZAC is something Australian. We're in Australia, not in china, although by the looks of it that looked like China, but the air was clean, people didn't spit, and most importantly there was freedom of speech. There was no way you would have done something like that if Australia were like China.

  • i was there too.I just dun really understand what does china-tibet issue affects them? Anything to do with them,i mean westerns who support tibet. They might get paid, or they r just so free everyday? they are fkin stupid of being there. why didnt they jus get the fat ass back to find a job?

  • One world One dream One China!妈的韩国!我算认错你了!

  • Exactly, one dream, just a dream, far away from sad reality of opression, violence, censorhip and ugly faces...

  • Yea, leave Australia alone -__-

    One China!

  • Enjoy the wonderful party.

  • ursmissz, you're last line is very positive

  • I agree with czbok, MTran0708 and ursmissz

  • what the hell is this title

    man

plz dont get this event wrong

chinese ppl are gathering to canberra to support olympic games!!

coz we r waiting for 100 yrs

u western ppl start to link this great peace thing to political

    not us

so we have to get more ppl involve to canberra to show our determination that we love china and tibet was in and will be a part of china

we also love australia so ur title is so stuipd and wrong

  • I was there yesterday morning! there should be around 20,000 students like me trying to put the point "Olympic is no place for politics!" and "Once china" through to the naive pro-Tibetans. The students was peaceful but the Tibetans have to walk over to our side and wave their flags to provoke us but end of the day we had more people, more flags, more 'Genuine' supporters which eventually out numbered them and shut them up for good!

  • Haha, you guys are so funny. Im a student in Australia, many of my friends went canberra for the torch just coz they love their country, not a free lunch!!!!I would go if I didn't have classes as I love my country!!I hate someone's lying!!! I dont know why so many western people support "Free tibet", I bet those would have free dinner from Dalai Lama!!!

  • That is so true, those pro-Tibtan supporters were paid $300 a day to go on the protest.

  • they are just jealous people who noe nothing.

  • wtfs with tis title?

  • well done our brothers and sisters in Australia,

    thanks from germany.

  • Good job to Australia and the supporters!!!

  • Is it Australia?

The Chinese solidarity power is splendid.

  • LOL ur msg told that, you kno nothing!!

"of course i konw chine tibet" u said: "we have BBC n CNN"

  • Well, I have some friends there and they did pay very little to go to Canberra from other places in Australia, u know why? because the American Chinese donated half million US dollars days ago while the torch was in LA, and then they passed the extra money to their fellow Chinese people in Australia. I shall thank all the western media distortion, they made us united like a family! And you are right, this is THE moment for we Chinese to rise our voice to the world, WE LOVE CHINA! ONE CHINA!

  • I totally agree with you! Thanks to the lairs in CNN and BBC, they gave us the chance to educate the whole generation of young Chinese

  • Western media have distorted the facts

    Western media shameful

  • Australia did a good job to defend the spirit of sports!

    Long live China-Australian friendship!

    Hug from China! :-)

  • I won't say i support Chinese government, and i am neutral in Tibet issue. But I'm happy that these Chinese supporters there to "protect" (as they called themselves) the torch. Sorry those pro-Tibet, but i'm sick of playing politics in world sport events

  • I agree undergoldstar. I'm not Chinese, but I think at least it's good that they're trying to defend the olympics for once (well there were pro-china protests before, but not nearly as big as this one)

  • Greetings from Sydney, Australia. Our nation has a huge Chinese community and we don't take kindly to tibetans trying to brainwash white folks.

  • Most people also don't take too kindly to the modern torch run being politicalised, or large crowds of people traveling solely for the purpose of protesting. It's sad that many people missed out on seeing the torch because of the large crowds from both sides harboring ill intentions.

  • ALl these protest thingy would not happen if there wasn'tv pro-tibet protests in the first place,...the timing for the protest was soo offff

chinese in general are not that political

    When theres action there's reaction.

  • I'm sorry, but no, pointing out the faults of your opponent does not justify your actions. Until yesterday I was very disappointed by the Tibetan protests and felt alienated from their cause because of what I saw as unnecessarily disruptive acts. Yesterday I felt the same thing towards China as well, neither side won any support by deliberately disrupting or flooding the relay. The modern relay is a sporting, not a political event. Stop trying to exploit it to suit your agenda, whatever that is.

  • The Chinese were their to support the Olympic Torch and is sending a welcoming message to the Australian people to attend the Olmypics in Beijing. We were all holding a Beijing Olympic flag, to support the Olympics, nothing political. But none of those pro-Tibetans were holidng an Olympic flag. You see the difference now?

  • yeh and i watched the live coverage and we were cheering for the torch bearers unlike the tibetans who were causing trouble

  • To MTran0708

I was there the whole way cheering and supporting the the Torch Bearers and even the Australian police. But the pro-Tibetans threw themselves over the fence trying to stop the Torch. Dalai Lama said the pro-Tibetans support Olympic games? REALLY?

  • I would be causing trouble if my homeland was unjustly occupied!

  • You don't even know the history of China, Tibet was part of China. You better find the fact before you make any comment!

  • Tibet was invaded by China in 1949. That's a fact that unfortunately Chinese people are not aware of because the government has brainwashed them.

  • The fact is, Tibetans were under the SLAVERY regime before the Chinese government abolished it to free the majority of Tibetan slaves. There was NO HUMAN RIGHTS under Dalai Lama's slavery regime. Bcz people don't read World History, that's why a lot of them didn't realise the suffering of Tibetans before the Chinese government saved them. Now there's NO slavery in Tibet anymore.

  • Chinese insulted anyone that protested. And they tried to hide the signs with flags. There were reports of some protesters having been attacked. That was pure communist propagand, It was disgusting.

  • To frodo322: some pro-Tibet extremists were even more disgusting, they threw themselves over the fence, sat themselves on the Torch path, and in some countries even disturbed the Olympic Torch. Did you see any of the Chinese did that???

  • It is sadder still that you would prefer to see people oppressed and murdered, than take away the opportunity of people to see a piece of plastic with a lighter in the middle.

    get some perspective.

  • sciencechik:

I saw you are roamin around bursting out baseless anti-Chin propoganda... Can you please tell us how much you were paid to do so?

  • Nice, your only way to refute your opponent is to make baseless accusations, and apparently some people have awarded you for it.

The jury's still out, but it seems far more likely that the Chinese embassy paid to bus pro-Chinese supporters down to the relay, rather than the other way around.

  • I had to work, if not, I could have joined the rally to support China. So find out the fact before you post your opinion!

  • If you supported the Olympic Torch so much, then did you go? Well, the Chinese did. We supported the Olympic Torch very much that's why we were there to see it!

  • I am also from Sydney, Australia and I spent a few weeks in Tibet in January 2008.

I found the experience very emotional, Until I went there I din't have much perspective on what it is like today.

To my horror, it is even worse than I knew.I thought 'how is it that these things can go on without the world knowing' I was scared in China, I couldn't stop thinking 'If they can do this to their own people, imagine what they could do to me'

Have you ever been to Tibet???
