But isnt the ad companies the representatives of Big Media - bec the bottom line is to make money? Seems to me they seemed pretty quick to invent those cookies that are all over my machine, looking at almost everything Im doing online so that they can target their ads at me.
So while you make a good point that Big Media may have a hard time changing - on the other hand they seemed to have adapted also with the new stuff. Just look at the peripheral of almost every single web page.
Good point about the cookies & i agree that ultimately most companies just want to make money. there's nothing wrong with that. if they didn;t make money, the sites etc would disappear.
Although there are a lot of ads around. I still don't think a lot of those older media companies really understand what's going on here & the full potential of it.
How often do you actually click on any of those ads? Not many times i bet, if ever? :)
Okay, well, the last video still won't load, but I get a feel for what you're talking about.
No, the ad-free thing isn't realistic. If it becomes as oppressive here as it has on regular television, though, I doubt I'll continue hanging around much.
That's one of the tricks with ads. Striking the right balance. Too much & people start switiching off & going elsewhere, as you suggetsed. That doesn't help anybody in the end :)
Good analogies in this vlog. I think the secret to success is foresight. Marketing always has to have its sights set on what is "about" to happen and become popular, not what is currently popular.
You can change your hair without consulting anybody? I thought you were married...
But excellent vlog, and I agree 100% - Change belongs to the nimble. A truck heading downhill needs a lot more breaking distance before a turn than a Mini does.
"It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change." - Charles Darwin
the media giants are so unwieldy that you're right, whenever they do catch up to us now, we'll be long gone and they'll have something entirely new to moan about. You'd think they'd have bigger fish to fry that to spend time filtering and searching videos on you tube for 15 second snippets of The Last Train to Clarksville!
Thank you for commenting in the first place.
As i've often said, i get a lot of inspiration from the comments that people leave. Without you there would not be so many videos.
That doesn't just work for me, but for many vloggers :)

Great video! That's me, the last, littlest, most insignificant cog on the wheel. Lol.

Thanks.
I think we all think we're that lowly cog at times :)

Foresight is a very valuable tool.
I think that sometimes you have to second guess what is going to happen & that is not always easy.
I'm reading a book at the moment which touches on just this situation :)
