He cut a hole (about 2 1/8" I suspect) in the back of the muffler allowing a canister shaped part to slide out then installed the tip. I did it, sounds great and decreases back pressure.

It looks like he welded/ screwed an exhaudt tip from a 650 vstrom on there.
