@weldorn The reason I like Rammstein's vocals so much is because they do sound poetic, even without knowing the language. They compose wonderful sounding music.
I'd just like to point out, that while you did a good job with the translation itself, you did a very poor job with the technical German-- nouns are capitalized, and while I may be mistakes, I think you left outta lot of umlauts, which creat a vast difference between vowel sounds.
you know, i have long debated what the greatest song of all time is, weather it be santeria by sublime or one by metallica or what a wonderful world by louis armstrong, but i am convinced this song rises above them all. i want to die to this song.
oh wow, no. knowing german doesn't ruin rammstein at all. knowing german lets you have an insight in the deep poetry that many many rammstein songs have. actually i'm surprised why rammstein are so famous outside of german speaking countries, the lyrics are a big part of rammstein's awesomeness
I agree!! I actually have been learning German for the main reason of understanding the lyrics~ (and i hope to move to Germany when i get a bit older)
I didnt think that i was learning it well, but now as i am listening to various bands (i mean ones that sing in german) I can understand a good percentage of what is being said- and it makes me happy!
the language is beautiful, and i think more people should learn it. ^_^
the lover who died in a "kiss of gunpowder" are the nazis and the other lover "who cant draw faster" is the present german system and the girl is of course mother germany !!! interestin to see that the the second german ends up killing the love and the girl sings praises of the first lover !!. i might be delusional but what a song !!!!
@rainmkr777 that seems like a stretch to interpret the song like that - but thats one of the things thats cool about Rammstein - plenty of ways to interpret
At 0:55, it says "he says I stole you, he doesn't..." It should be "he doesn't know" (weiß er nicht). Just a friendly correction :) Otherwise, very nice.
this song reminds me of soldiers on both sides of the war on terrorism, both sides tries to please the same God, ideal, or principle, in the end God can only choose one to live, and the other put to death
Except they kill people to get their point across and for power. We kill to save the innocent and protect the weak. Though I understand what you are saying. I think its a little different then that. Terrorrists are not humanists and do not fight for equality or freedom.
I JUST BAUGHT THE NEW ALBUM leibe ist fur alle da and it had 11 songs on it. but when i actually played it THIS SONG AND MEHR WERENT ON IT.I AM SOO MAD!!!!!!! the lyrics of this song and mehr were on it. BUT NO SONG AGHGGHGHGH
@pyroninja4 dude, take it back, yell at the producer and get yer money back! it happened to me too, get revenge for all the fans that didn't get all they paid for.
@pyroninja4 i bought it awhile back but i bought the extended or special or what ever u wanna call it version and got 2 cds and it had mehr and rotersand on it, and on the other cd it came with was an instrumental version of rotersand.
I dont like it, the german is right next to the english, hard for the eye to spot out, great translation in all. But i am going to have to give it the thumbs down. Please make another easier to read verson (no german needed for me personally)...
@forthebrotherhood They were duelling. One man challanges the other because he had stolen his girlfriend/wife. As part of the gentlemans code you could challange another man if he had done something that disrespected you, like cheating with his wife. Well it´s my interpretation of the lyrics. Weisse tauben = white doves gives me a thought of an aristocratic environment.,
@burgekingman ich glaub aber er hat mehr ahnung vom Deutschen als du vom Englischen^^ Sorry, aber wenn ich nich übersetzen kann mach ich kein video, va wenns scho so viele schlechte übersetzungen gibt
@filmsbycam no it roter Sand, i am german, i know it... rot is a collor (red) and when you put it together with a Nomen you have "roter" like "roter Tisch" (red desk), or "roter Himmel" (red sky)
HORRIBLE LYRICS !!!!! BOTH !!

@forthebrotherhood I'm not surprised....
ShadowSwan1981 8 months ago
This is almost satisfactory. You should have more spacing between the lyrics and translation so that people can make them out.
The title would also seem more legit if you would use capital letters.
For further references watch videos from someone who translated all of the previous songs. I believe his name is Chlcesteron or something similar.
I don't like this song. It scares me to know how stupidlypeopleactwhen jealous.
(Intelligent comments on youtube exist, but I fear they are pointless)
