Actually, judy was a covert Israeli spy working for the 4th division Mossad based out of Tel Aviv.

@adsonjetson The dream of horses doesn't represnt anything. Judy was a girl who had sex with a boy at a very young age and got zero enjoyment out of it, so she "gave herself to books and learning" and eventually ended up falling asleep dreaming of stealing and riding a horse, which led her to orgasm in a way she never had before. So Judy ended up trying to have that dream again, which she never did, so she wrote a song about it. So many people are misinterpreting the song.

Their songs are really simple and innocent. A band you can listen to, anywhere, anytime. Especially this song, can turn a rainy day in to a beautiful summer day. Only Belle & Sebastian's songs can do that.

And yet the meaning behind the lyrics is far from innocent, at the least, whatever theory about it you believe to be true. That's one thing I like about B&S though; you can indeed listen to their music anywhere at anytime and while they are simple and innocent, there is often a very interesting layer of theme or sentiment below what you can hear.
