  • the sign 1991 lit up before it turned 12:00:00am.

  • I was 12 years old on this day, it actually was NOT as peaceful as it looks, I remember the BEach boys performing and all but this was on the eve of the FIRST gulf war, we had around 300,000 stationed in saudi arabia and 16 days later we bombed the crap out of iraq and kuwait.

  • Is there any chance you could possibly upload all of the old Dick Clark New Years Rockin Eve shows (including 1990 and 1991) from the past in it's full entirely without any difficulties and problems?

  • do you like pom. thumbs up if you read this wrong.

  • The best year ever the year I was born!!!!

  • I was in the 10th grade in high school 1991 :D Now I'm 37yrs old as of 2012

  • i would be turning 8 in 1991

  • I guess New York City really is the Capital of the World, since at mid-night it became 1991 simultaneously in different time zones from Times Square.

  • YAY! 1991 THE YEAR I WAS NOT BORN!

  • Fifty minutes prior to this, the New Orleans Saints clinched the final spot in the 1990 NFL Playoffs on a game-winning kick by Morten Andersen against the L.A. Rams on ABC's Monday Night Football.

  • Awww look at BBD!

  • My sister in law was born 3/12/91

  • I started high school in 1991.

  • Funny how in California it's actually still 9 pm dec 31, 1990 :D

  • @woah455 Technically, he's not wrong. New Year's Rocking Eve is rebroadcast at Midnight California Time.

  • @mythbuster43 Yes it is...but it's broadcasted live to NY residents (East Coast) meaning that CA starts celebrating early just for NY =)

  • I was only five at the time, and my family had only recently become a little bigger. My sister was born on the evening of December 15, 1990. It was a great way to close out the first year of the decade.

  • Dick really had a lot of fun with these New Year's specials!

  • I was 3 years and 8 months old. Damn, '91 is 20 years ago. But I don't get why Clark said "Its 1991 in CA and its 1991 in NY" and it would still be 9pm in CA as NY is celebrating at midnight? Is it true that the West Coast is pre-taped (nowadays)? Or is it just the music?

  • i was conceived on new years 1991 :) born october 1991

"I was born 17 months later!"

All the guests were linked arms and candles lighted at the turn of the year program at 11 p.m.

  • I was 12 at the time and like this, since number of the troops were in the Persian Gulf area that New Year's Eve.

  • I wish I would have seen a ball drop where it's done by hand... but I like it computer-controlled.

  • I was a bit surprised to find out computers didn't start dropping the ball until like 1996 or 1997!!

But yeah amazing how primative this looks by today's standards!

  • I can't wait longer... just 10 days till New Year's Rockin Eve 2010!

  • Ball Drop 1994 please

  • I was born at 11:45 on this day

  • Funny how we celebrate something that really has no meaning, nothing changes when a year ends or start it's just a normal night - the same as always. Anyway, I was born in 1991 :D

  • @Heimunen shut the fuck up and take you're buzz kill somewhere else.

  • I was born Dec 1986,so I was just 4yrs and 2wks old at this time. This was when my family left San Francisco and moved to L.A,where we still live.Great times, time does really fly!The greatest singer of all time,Freddie Mercury was still alive back then!

  • Damn it, I wasn't born til 1992! :( I was thinking, this would have been Freddie's last ever new years eve, although I doubt he would have been in the mood for celebrating due to how ill he had become. :(

  • Can you upload a New Year's Eve Times Square 1991-1992 please?
